NASA to announce that they have found some land on which Cradley Heathens can build a new stadium...No noise issues, no neighbours to complain, everything a Heathens fan could hope for... http://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/nasa-announcement-press-conference-today-solar-system-exoplanet-sun-planets-news-latest-a7590281.html

Feel sorry for Adam Roynon too. Whether the crashes were his fault or not is by the by though. His main problem is/was being so brittle-boned. When you see the crashes that other riders walk away from and then you see Roynon breaking a leg just from laying his bike down, you just have to conclude that his body just wasn't built for this sport.
-
Now all you need is that couple from Mildenhall to move in and take legal action about the noise...

Are there any more big announcements being made in the next 48 hours? I missed the last one. Don't want to miss out again.
-
Of course they'll be attractive to the fans at the tracks that they go to on their travels. They will be someting that your average British speedway fan can relate to. in the same way as those fans like their Val Doonican, Englebert Humperdink, Tom Jones and Andy Williams music being played too,

Well this is one way for the team to save the salary of having to employ a Child Protection Officer to the staff.

Here's interesting... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/netball/39004585 So if one day speedway could be taken as seriously as netball, maybe salvation for the Bees could come from the Wasps "brand" (or "family" - you choose) ??? The problem will be to allow enough time for the bad blood to be washed away, for the dodgy characters to be far enough removed from the scene, and for the rest of the sport to get up to the level of respectability and status that Women's Netball has in this country. And that will be a problem.

Part of the reason why satellite broadcasters encrypt their signals is to do with their great intention of not breaching broadcasting rights or copyrights, which have been paid for by other broadcasters in other countries. The theory is, that if Sky have encryption system A and sell it's decoders in the UK only, their broadcast of Man United v Liverpool will only be seen in the UK, by it's subscribers. Canal+ will have paid for the rights to broadcast the same match in France and another Canal+ will have paid to broadcast the same match to Spain, etc etc all over the continent (or even the world!) Canal+ will use encryption system B in France, encryption system C in Spain, etc and so on. The theory and good intention is that the match is seen by those in each country who pay each national broadcaster their subscription to decode the signal. So the Spanish don't see the French version etc. The broadcasting rights of blockbuster movies are paid for by national broadcasters in the same way to the Hollywood studios. There will always be people who find ways around the system. Look at the number of Ex-Pats in Spain who watch Sky, or the number of Poles in the UK who watch the Polish stations here. All I can say is enjoy it while you can, and be prepared to deal with the consequences. In particular, the way that Kodi media streams are now being monitored by the major ISP's (who themselves are providers of encrypted content) my guess is that it won't be long before Sky, Virgin and BT amongst others start putting barriers in the ay of people streaming illegal (NOT paid for) content. I doubt for a minute that Sky, BT and Virgin enjoy the irony of their own encrypted subscription content being streamed free of charge down their own internet connections.

Stoke are taking the mick... Stoke Potters 1. A 27 year old 2. A 36 year old 3. A 32 year old 4. A 22 year old 5. A 51 year old 6. A 37 year old 7. A 32 year old Combined ages of the seven riders = 237 Average age per rider = 33yrs & 11 months I previously asked if there is a record for the oldest ever team? I'm sure that Tatum and Vatcher are holding the NL to ridicule over this team. The BSPA should see sense and refuse authorisation for it, er, "in the best interests of British Speedway"

If you think so, why not drop a nice letter over to Terry Russell @ GoSpeed International Ltd, who looks after all the media interests of British Speedway. I'm sure that you'd be able to persuade him to ditch the SkySports deal and to hook up with the BBC instead. Without speedway being in the BBC stable, you won't get any of the other BBC associated TV coverage that the SPOTY contenders get. That said, praise has to go where it's due (or where the broadcasters are desperate lol) BBC RadioWM do provide an excellent radio coverage of the West Midlands teams. And that despite the fact that in the recent past, the now-chairman of the BSPA threw them out of the Norfolk Area mid-meeting as the BBC were trying to cover the Kings Lynn v Brummies meeting. So maybe with that legacy, having Buster "Dick Dastardly" Chapman in charge of the BSPA doesn't really act as a good incentive to the BBC, does it? -
I gather that having these at Coventry is no longer an option.

I meant the stadium that will be similar to Cardiff..

Speedway And The National Press

Well, except that in this day and age there are web pages (for free) and TV channels (some free) which compete for the viewers attention. If speedway was though of as potentially attracting an audience, let alone buy a newspaper, then the publishers would go for it, wouldn't they? At the end of the day, the publishers concern themselves with circulation figures and revenue. They don't see it as their "duty" to do a Social Service, or to cater for the spiritual well-being and wider sporting awareness of the British Public. It's up to speedway to offer up a product that will capture the public imagination, that will have the masses flocking to it, and which will have people glued to their TV screens, web sites and paying for newspapers, and the publishers will run rings around themselves to offer up all the coverage you would desire. But then again, this is BRITISH speedway, we're talking about. -
How's the building work coming along?
-
Today's the day then, when the new promoters are announced isn't it? Will it be in the form of a Donald Trump Tweet, or a BSPA Press Release that Speedway Star can simply copy and paste into their next issue or will there be a formal old fashioned press conference? What would people think if at the end it said something like the first rider will be revealed next week. Nothing quite like stringing the fans along is there?

Good question. I take it you are referring to the legal and legit ones? It comes down to who has the copyright and broadcasting rights in other countries I think. Look at Hulu. they are a big on-demand TV service in the USA. Try subscribing to their service from the UK and you'll get a message saying that you can't access their service due to these reasons. Likewise, DVD's are restricted to global zones too, with USA DVD's not always being able to be played on a UK DVD player. I doubt whether the card or the box that you put the card in will be GPS equipped so it should work fine. Whether you are committing a crime in using it though may be a question that you want to ask of GoSpeed International Ltd, who boast the worldwide broadcasting and distribution rights to the Ekstraliga. They entered into the agreement to "broadcast and distribute" purely to stop anyone else from doing it, and so that they can block a better product (than the British EL Speedway) from being seen in the UK. If they ever woke up, opened their eyes and saw what was going down amongst speedway fans, they may get a little annoyed. And the thought of Terry Russell annoyed...well.... This meeting is specifically EXCLUDED from the Season Ticket entitlement. So if you have bought a season ticket, don't forget to turn up with a spare £13 in your pockets to pay your way in with the rest of the great unwashed. http://www.birminghambrummies.co/admission -
So the BSPA are just taking the Piszcz by making everyone wait an extra needless day? :-(
-
Does that mean that the fixtures are agreed and they are just taking the Piszcz for a further 24 hours by keeping us dangling on their thread? Or does it mean that they are all still squabbling and haggling and tomorrow morning they will publish what they've got subject to changes later?

Better to open against Cradley, than the other "go to" fixture of the past - against Stoke.
