  1. I wonder if there will be a fireworks display at the end of the meeting? Need something to look forward to. "Team of Guests B" v "Team of Guests C" doesn't really fuel the imagination, does it? No matter what race jackets they wear.
  2. Post the same question on a MotoGP forum, and I dare say you will get their regulars saying that speedway is just "first out the gate wins", and they will laud their sport to the rafters. Different strokes for different folk.
  3. 4 guests plus R/R. Is that a record? Can any Brummies fan honestly put hand on heart an say "that's my team?. Our race jackets, maybe, but "our" team??? Anyway, get well soon, Leon.
  4. Can't Birmingham have a guest or R/R like they do in league matches?
  5. If the Cradley Globetrotters can't get together a 1-7 to beat Mildenhall, then I doubt that the Brummies will either. A case of "but for the grace of god there go the Brummies"... the problem has been identified, and ok this year other teams could have been affected. That doesn't mean that the problem shouldn''t be addressed and sorted out. Next year it could well be the Brummies who come a cropper, and then you'll be saying "why didn't we fix this problem earlier".
  6. Well, good for them I suppose. But they are 3 home and 1 away fixtrues short of completing their obligations. 3 teams have won at Stoke already, only Birmingham and IoW have lost there. Is it fair on Plymouth, Eastbourne, and Buxton (!) to deny them the chances of gaining points too? Plymouth for instance, with 4 point wins at Stoke and Buxton (also not yet ridden) could leapfrog Birmingham in the league, and with some better luck and fortune elsewhere during the year, could have been in the mix at the end of the season, a fate that Buxton and Stoke have just about gotten away with denying them. You have to ask, if things had panned out differently for Plymouth, could Stoke have been culpable for keeping them out of the play-offs by not fulfilling their fixture obligations?
  7. I wonder what the league table would lookl like if the Buxton and Stoke fixtures were expunged, as only riding and losing in half your fixtures favours some teams who are making a genuine effort as opposed to others who are similarly making a genine effort but who are being denied the chance of scoring league points by the ineptitude of the two joke teams in question.
  8. So that's the Brummies post-season put into doubt following the abandonment of the meeting at Buxton. Doubtful if this fixture can now be re-run before the cut-off date. Now Coventry Bees need points from TWO meetings against Buxton, if they are to get into the play-offs. Only in British Speedway can a team that's not won a meeting all year have such a profound influence and impact on the top of the league table.
  9. The BSPA will beat that out of them. Are the Mason's licensed as promoters yet or are they still operating under Laurence Rogers's license? Calming down and not showing-up their fellow promoters may be a condition of their licenses getting granted when the time comes
  10. If a referee is going to start excluding those not ready, he'll have to exclude ALL those not ready. So, as per the Tai Woffinden incident in Krsko, what happens when instead of one exclusion, there are 3 or 4, because at the point when Tai was excluded, none of the other riders were ready to race either. Does a race with 4 excluded riders end up with a repeat of Heat 2 with all 4 reserves employed? And in and individual meeting, if 3 or 4 had been excluded, there wouldn't have been enough reserves to fill their places. Or does the referee, seek to punish everyone by just making an example of the highest profile rider in the race? Or just the one that's not his nationality? Or what?
  11. Can anyone explain why Baron Ethan von Spiller is even allowed in the National League, having represented Germany, and riden in Germany for more than he's been over here. Don't he and his brother identify more as Germans than as Brits as well?
  12. Birmingham will be an NL Select team for the rest of the season. Leon Flint may be the only survivor from the team that took to the track in March, to make it to the end of the season. Just hope he gets through the next few meetings unscathed.
  13. Better change that...."One-Boy, Three Guests & Two Passengers -Brummies - See them while you can"
  14. I usually stand about 15metres past the start/finish line, close to the front, by the gate that gives access to the track. I may well be wearing a Stal Gorzów top ;-)
  15. eM-Pe - there's going to be a little gathering of Brrummies Fans who regularly travel to Poland meeting up next Wednesday, including former Brummies captain, Richard Greer. Please come over and say Dzień dobry.
  16. Marketing slogan for Birmingham for the rest of 2018 - "Six-Man-Brummies - See them while you can"
  17. Marketing slogan for Birmingham in 2019 - "Seven-Man-Brummies - See them while you can"
  18. Birmingham Brummies to have a team with a higher average age than the Stoke Potters in 2019?
  19. BIRMINGHAM will be making what club bosses are describing as 'an exciting announcement' prior to Wednesday's National League fixture with Stoke at Perry Barr (7.30). Well if that doesn't draw the crowds in, nothing will...
  20. If you get stopped by the Police and fail to give a breath or a blood sample, you are convicted of "failure to provide..." and are punished in the courts the same as if you were tested positive. So if that's the precident, so be it. A bit "guilty til proven innocent" but don't ask me for any sympathy.
  21. Walker will recover when the funds to pay for doctors notes runs dry.
  22. And he's probably still driving his private car or motorcycle on the public highway putting innocent passers by at risk. Wouldn't these bans be even more effective if there was a linkage between the SCB / ACU licensing and the DVLA? Maybe some legal eagle might want to look into how such a linkage could be established?
  23. Plenty of 3-3's then? Could be an expensive night for bonus points.
