Sounds like the perfect candidate for a Laurence Rogers "Semi-Permanent Tactical Facility" stunt, like he likes to use and has used in past years.

Glad that you no longer think of Janusz Kołodziej as a "has been"
-
As I said on 7th January, he finished 4th in the Polish averages in 2023. But then as LagutaFan said in reply, he hasn't shown any interest in riding in the UK for the last 15 years. So who knows? I love his never-say-die racing style, and would love him to come and ride for the Brummies.

3 days if you don't include posts by people bemoaning the fact that they can't pat each other on the back on here anymore.

Zimmer Frames at Dawn! In a previous post, I suggested Janusz Kołodziej and Dominik Kubera to which I only got rebuffed on Kubera because he's doing the SGP's (as are others, but hey ho). I'd like to know why Janusz Kołodziej isn't currying favour bearing in mind his blistering season in Poland last year. And for those singing Dudek's praises, let's not forget that Anders Thomsen, Mateusz Cierniak Oskar Fajfer and Grzegorz Zengota all out-performed him over the the season just gone. Won't they do? And again, those riders I listed are way above the rankings of Milik & the long haired pseudo-Pole from Russia. I'd be happy to have Janusz Kołodziej as #1 and Oskar Fajfer at #2. Fajfer, for those who aren't aware, was brought in by Stal Gorzow to fill the gap left by the loss of Zmarzlik, and he exceeded everyone's expectations in the role that he performed. He's a guy on the upward swing of his learning curve and could well make a big impact on the British scene, if he was made an offer.

Sponsorship is a commercial undertaking where the cash investment is expected to produce a revenue benefit. That means that you need the people exposed to the sponsor to buy their products. It's a difficult thing to do with an aged fan base living on their old age pensions and a wider speedway supporter base that is renown for its penny pinching "thriftyness". Are you expecting charitable contributions, or for these companies just to subsidise the fortnightly entertainment of some senior citizens out of the goodness of their hearts?

Some people on here will remember the "noughties" when Newport were habitually one of the last teams to declare. I suspect that the mastermind behind that is influencing recruitment and PR tactics now too.

Possible Reason 1 - Laguta doesn't want to sign? Possible Reason 2 - Despite Laguta having a passport of convenience, Trolly doesn't want to employ a Russian?

It would appear that Birmingham's team building situation has attracted the interest of the Polish press - https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/1097707/zuzel-marzy-im-sie-transfer-bartosza-zmarzlika-finanse-nie-bylyby-dla-dzialaczy- Reading between the lines here, I dare say that those wanting Rory Schlein to join the Brummies may be disappointed,

I guess that you can't announce who you haven't yet signed. Shades of previous seasons it seems.

No need, I live within walking distance of the Stadium

There's a KFC in the middle of the car park, and there are no barriers on the access roads

I refer to my previous post. If only people believed what they read on the signs at the One Stop car park which specifically state that 4 hours parking is allowed and that restrictions end at 8pm, people would be better off. And as for who checks the purpose of the cars parked there, the answer is nobody. Plenty is the time that I've parked my car there to go to the park behind the One Stop to take photos or to fly my drone, without any consequence.
-
Says who? Yours is one of those posts that spreads the sort of fake news that turns people like Lefty off from going to Birmingham for the speedway.
-
I agree with everything that you say. Who would want to risk a PCN? The sad thing is that the "clarification" statement that the Brummies put out, backfired on them, quite needlessly, in this case, as a PCN would never have resulted, no matter how long the meeting went into the night, assuming that Lefty parked his car after 4pm.
-
The whole point of this "non-message" was to highlight that the Bracebridge Engineering and Kalsi Kitchens options were open to the fans. Which is not to say that they weren't "unofficially" open to the fans before, as many had been parking there anyway for many years already. Another of Laurence Rogers's "smoke and mirrors" efforts to make out that the fans were getting something out of some kind of new sponsorship deal, thereby also highlighting that more and more sponsors were coming on board. As has been said already, the parking at the One Stop Shopping Centre, as long as the rules were adhered to meant that anyone parking after 4pm would have free parking until the end of the meeting without any problems, it's just couched in a form of words that puts doubt in the minds of people who want solutions spoon fed to them, rather than working things out for themselves.

I wonder what Sir Alan Lord Sugar would make of it all. Who would he fire? The guy who is responsible for all the crap signings, facility stunts and fake break-ins and equipment damage, or the guy financing this venture without dismissing the person who is wasting his money for him?
-
52% of that total identify as BAME. And when have you ever seen a BAME crowd at Speedway? (...waiting for all the "I know a black guy who goes" exceptions to that rule that are going to "prove me wrong")
-
That four hour period restriction ends at 8pm. So as long as you arrive after 4pm (and who doesn't?) you'll be OK as parking time after 8pm is unrestricted.

2024 Premiership Predictions
uk_martin replied to StarBoy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As do we all. But here's a prediction that I'd be delighted to be proven wrong...namely that the Brummies #1 won't be revealed until the last minute (or some time in March in any case) And don't forget the new criteria for signing riders - it has to be a name that the team manager can pronounce properly. -
2024 Premiership Predictions
uk_martin replied to StarBoy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
There are dozens of riders on the continent who have never riden in the UK before who can do a better job than those "few" that you refer to. Broaden your horizons, think laterally. The "PL class of 2023" isn't the sole source of talent in the world. -
British Riders' Championships
uk_martin replied to brianbuck's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Let sleeping dogs lie before the trendy lefty politically correct thought police cancel those championships entirely on the grounds that they were not diverse or inclusive enough and were a homage to white supremacists, or something. Changing / correcting history for one cause will just be the thin end of a wedge. -
Why the fixation about Shamek when his star is on a consistent wane in Poland? Just because he once rode for Coventry in the days when his star was rising, doesn't make it a good idea to sign him now. If you want to sign a young Polish rider who is on the upward part of his career curve, try Oskar Fajfer. For his first year in the Ekstraliga last year, that lad did well, and will only improve from here on in,

The signing of Zach Cook has been announced. Hands up if you are surprised. Keep your hands up if you think there's "wow factor" with that signing,
