Wildcards 2010
austrian hammer replied to WembleyLion's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I'd guess it'd be 1 wild card Brit. One of Freddie,Hans,Antonio and M.Zagar will miss out anyway, but it would be harsh if two of them did, just to accommadate two Brits. -
Gp Tracks 2010
austrian hammer replied to tarabanko's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Clearly this calendar is wrong then, as we all know, for example, that Cardiff is on the 10th July. The calendar has only one GP date down for July and that's the 31st!?! -
2010 Grand Prix Contenders
austrian hammer replied to TonyMac's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I liked the old system they had in place whereas those outside the top 8 from that years series raced against those who'd qualified through from all the usual world championship rounds.....British,Nordic,Commonwealth etc...... You then had pretty much half the field qualifying, but it seemed a fair system. Why did they have to tinker with it? Was it because if it was done this way a nation like Britain(just usung us as an example) could possibly be without representation at the following years series? -

I too believe that they'll go with Hans and Freddie as well as the two Brits; Chris as British Champion, and Tai as young blood for the series. I'm not saying this is right,in fact it clearly isn't on merit, just what i think they'll do. On merit i'd have to say that sadly you could make a pretty good case for the inclusion of NO Brits. -
Gollob - 2010 Race Suspension?
austrian hammer replied to a topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I'd guess that he probably already did, on the night, as he certainly sounded a lot mellower by the time it came to his rostrum interview. -
Torun Get Gp From 2010
austrian hammer replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It's harsh of the organisers to say that there wouldn't be another GP in Britain as Cardiff doesn't sell out...please.....The capacity at the Millenium stadium is approaching 70,00..it still draws the biggest attendance of all the Gp's. Bydgoscz sells out, fair play...but their capacity is approx 20,000 less than a third of Cardiff. There would be ample support for another GP in the UK, given that there will be 3 in Poland, are 2 already in Sweden, and this year were also 2 in Denmark. Coventry or Peterborough would be fine as venues. -
2010 Grand Prix Contenders

Mine would be exactly the same as this with one difference...Lindback in for Walasek. -
So another season of über slick tracks then! (über-german slang term used specifically for emphasis) Look at the way the guy ruined a great race track in Slovenia, and there are other examples too. He can stay race director, but allow the guys at the permanent tracks to just do their jobs, though i wont hold my breath on that one. When it comes to just track prep, the man´s a clown!

Grand Prix Challenge.
austrian hammer replied to a4poster's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
As it's the top 3 into next years GP series, am i right to assume that if Kenneth Bjerre makes the top 3 and also makes the top 8 in this years series then it'll be next one down(4th on the night) who'd be an automatic qualifier? Seems logical to me, but this is the sport of Speedway! -
Swc- The Final
austrian hammer replied to Niclas's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
They said on Sky, due to clear up @ 2.00am (must have a info from the met-the polish met?-?) So, in which case they do know how to prepare a track, pretty sharpish; i.e. World Final 1992. Given that there's no more rain by the time lightness ascends, should be fine, and probably a damn good racing surface too. -
Swc- The Final

Fair point, but does it not make sense to ensure that the Polish league can run tomorrow as well. Why do i say that? Because if the Polish league DOESN'T run tomorrow then they'll have to re-arrange these fixtures which will probably affect Elite League clubs with Polish riders. i.e. most of them. I'm not saying the morning start is a good idea, BUT given the weather, and all other scenarios, there does seem to be some logic to it. -

No surprises from me. Poland. And they may well have won it before we get to the last set of 5 heats. -

Tai Or Kenett

Maybe it was already agreed prior to The SWC starting that Scotty wouldn't be riding, either at P'boro OR Leszno. May explain his absence last night. -
Swc Race-off
austrian hammer replied to Danish Webmaster's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I don't think Ole has any say in track prep for the World Cup. Only G.P's, judging from what they were saying last night about him being sat in the stand in the afternoon at P'boro whilst the track prep was taking place. -
Have to bring Scottie back for that one.
