  1. it's not my money being spent on riders so I won't give any opinion regarding a 1 - 7, Ged will look after the club with a good team within the budget I'm sure, but IF it was my money, I think I would be looking at basing the team around Kenneth Hansen and Kyle Newman. Going back to the successful times at Kings Lynn in the Premier League, they always had a strong engine room and a great team bond, and it was these that ultimately brought trophies. With the averages of Kenneth and Kyle, they would be an amazing engine room
  2. and that's why there's more drug testing going on
  3. Layne Cupitt also switched to GTR
  4. I think BSI need to invest in the type of fence used by Kings Lynn, it's not an airfence and doesn't lift when hit
  5. pretty disrespectful to call NL riders 'wobblers', everyone starts somewhere and deserve a chance to progress
  6. with regards to the referee decisions .. we keep being told the throttle goes both ways.
  7. so why do you constantly tell certain people to get off the Poole threads and back on their own?
  8. speedway isn't necessarily the problem, 4 riders doing 4 laps, the fundamental product is great, but the things that are pushing people away are the rules and the way things are run. I dislike double up/down, I dislike guest riders, but I have to acknowledge that they are a necessary evil in the sport these days as the clubs need riders to put on a meeting and there isn't enough to go around for the number of clubs we have for everyone to have a squad. we need the AGM to look at the riders that are pretty much holding the sport in this country to ransom, leave them out of the teams, and go with the riders that want to ride here. we need to get back to basics and work from there, if we don't then the sport will implode and become something along the lines of the current grasstrack setup with very few clubs and irregular fixtures. teams need to limit the cost of flying riders in/out for all the meetings, there isn't the money in the sport to keep doing it. I've been volunteering at a couple of clubs for a few years and every now and again things happen that make me wonder what the hell I'm doing still going, but then I see the racing at Peterborough which is 4 laps of pure adrenalin, and I realise how lucky I am. And I don't want to lose that feeling
  9. has a point though .. when I broke both wrists and an arm at Canterbury in 1987 having both arms in plaster you REALLY do find out who your friends are!!
  10. did Barry Briggs help Tatum, or am I imagining it???
  11. no GP riders and a league made up of riders that WANT to ride in the UK would do me
  12. Mauger, Moore, and Briggs (multi world champions) still rode for Great Britain
  13. personally I'd like to see KL go PL, the PL years before were good fun, but I suspect the demographics have changed too much now and there wouldn't be enough of a difference from how it is at the moment with all the flying in and out etc, it would be too much like EL and I doubt it would even be much cheaper
  14. not a nice thing to put, I thought Wimborne Road was ok, apart from the home straight of course, that'll need renovating
  15. for all the money and resources Matt Ford has, nothing comes close to having the say in what happens to the stadium. wait and see
  16. me? I'm wondering who is the person that sweeps up at a stadium here .....
  17. Buster is lucky enough to own the stadium, something your lot will wish for in a couple of years or so
  18. you might be better off worrying a bit closer to home, no point having the money if you haven't got a track
  19. missing a "please" in the original question, then this .. nice
