I still enjoy reading the magazine, but it shows how people have different views even as early as the first page on here! The grasstrack/longtrack section I still like, but then I love grasstrack and want to see more longtrack. More and more of the articles are covered by one person and as mentioned that does add to a bit of 'samey' reporting, it's always good to see different styles and opinions from different people. As a kid I used to look forward to seeing what would be on the back cover, what team or rider, whereas now it's generally an advert for Cardiff, and that is practically preaching to the converted

I'm fairly sure Kennett is getting more involved in grasstrack/longtrack too next year

ok

I don't think it was mentioned they would be happy, but just stating the obvious. Steve Hone, former Wimbledon supporter that lost my team when it moved to Eastbourne. and Wimbledon football supporter that lost my team when it moved to Milton Keynes. Starman, what will you do for speedway when Poole closes for a year or two?

and at the end we actually had 2!!! a reserve that can score points is a must. number 1 can have 5 rides, but if you have a capable reserve there's 7 rides covered, it showed when Simon was riding this year. as soon as Simon was injured and there was no points at reserve there was only one way it was going to go. I'd like Kennett at the Showground, he's consistent and has got much better on the bigger tracks, but you also have to think of the points available

so Emil in place of Heeps

Erik Riss looked good at the U21 Final at Kings Lynn, think he'd do a decent job

Rob is a successful businessman, as is Dale Allitt. And do you honestly think the news was a massive bombshell? I felt it's been on the cards for most of last season! No way is Rob out of his depth, he'll be absolutely fine, I'd even go as far as saying he's probably been doing the job for a while in the background. As team manager .. I hope Dale and Olly Allen. Dale has been around it for years, has a good speedway brain, has many many contacts, and has respect. Olly would be superb with the mechanical side of things, as well as being calm and precise with things
-
and here lies the reason so many teams are in the rubbish .. fair play to Ged. I wish other teams would do the same so speedway could continue
-
they normally have a supporters meeting in the bar and announce the whole team - it's due early December
-
or just reminding people where it came from ......
-
have you seen Somerset's books then? or is this just your arrogance again?
-
it's not necessarily about someone being good enough for the GPs, it's to do with the money they will be asking. if a club can't afford to use someone asking for a lot of money, then they won't! I am not saying to ban GP riders, if some clubs want to use them and the averages that go with them, then that's fine, but don't then bleat when you go out of business
-
I'd say BV riders wages were PART of the problem, seeing as there is so much owed to them!
-
well BSI had to bail Belle Vue out of the crap before the SWC could go ahead there, I'm guessing Belle Vue weren't very good at working within their budgets .....
-
if this was the case surely the clubs I mentioned plus many more that are losing money wouldn't be in the crap position they're in and having to make pretty drastic changes to their league
-
if the money being paid out i.e wages, air fares, mechanic, etc etc aren't sustainable by the club, then yes how would you feel currently if you were a supporter of Belle Vue, Leicester, Plymouth etc
-
superb at the showground, and I've seen him ride well at other tracks too
-
I know he does, not disputing that at all
-
don't be too sure .. just think a better manager can be a big difference to the riders when you want to win
-
one day i'll say .....
-
ah yeah forgot about that .. oh well, lets wait and see eh .. hopefully Olly will come in
-
that'll be Coventry then
-
Olly Allen for team manager??
