  1. plenty of passing tonight, and all because of an awful track, shows how things don't change but the Poole fans seem to think it's great. Jack Holder is at the wrong club in my view, 100% Poole is not a Jack Holder sort of track. Seeing him at Peterborough against many of the same riders he was up against tonight he is totally different, and it shows with his improvement this year and how he's gone on to cope in Poland.
  2. The first thing that needs to happen for 2018 is all the promoters to work together as a united front, without petty bickering and one-upmanship that seems to be the issue so often. The next thing will be for those promoters to think of ways to keep the current fan base, don't worry about new people yet, retain what you have because that is getting smaller and smaller, and history shows the current fans are the ones more likely to introduce new people to the sport. Years ago 'in my day' things were fun, a lot of the riders were great characters to have around - and supporters went to see these riders, especially if there was a grudge somewhere. We can't accommodate the big names any more, there isn't the money or fanbase anywhere to have them, but what we do have is generally a good bunch of riders riding here, riders that are bloody exciting on the racetrack, and will produce great racing. Maybe we need to take a step back with the professional side of things, do riders NEED 2 bikes at every meeting? How often do you see a rider's bike fail and the one that comes out the pits for him is a team mates! Never seems to be their spare anyway! Ivan Mauger could go everywhere with a bike stuffed in his Citroen, why can't riders do similar now?
  3. Bewley was at Peterborough tonight, but i think the issue with Jack was his equipment and having to drive it there and back
  4. my pictures from the Lincolnshire Poacher Grasstrack 27.08.17 https://www.flickr.com/photos/the_womble/albums/72157688495609095

  6. and herein lies the reason there won't be an independent body controlling the sport. Mark Robinson is nothing but bad news within the sport, and letting him deal with councillors etc is asking for trouble. Think we'll have another Norwich on our hands
  7. shame you won't get to see any of them. all because of a rule that doesn't actually exist in the Youth Championship

  10. no tv schedule to worry about in Championship so dates should be moveable
  11. riders used to ride once maybe twice per week back then, now most riders are doing much more than that. percentages are bound to be higher
  12. riding a Weslake I found to be consistent, a Godden was much harder to ride. there must be a lower revving solution to these tracks
  13. I don't mean just mounting one of the high revvers upright, I mean using a lower revving long stroke to allow more control
  14. keep saying it, but riders should keep an upright in their armoury for when tracks aren't perfect
  15. it may be true that British tracks are 'ass', but his life changing injury happened in Poland
  16. what have they done now? (or are you thinking of the SCB)
  17. well Starman did keep telling us how Kasprzak ups his game when at Poole hahahahahahahaha
  18. I blame the BSPA .. well they seem to get the blame for everything else
  19. i mean if you read the updates, he's had to go off 15m in all races except 1 and that was after he moved again but the ref let it go .. he's definitely out to screw people over
