  1. team managers should be a big part of the team, and i still think they should be able to change the lineup to suit, exactly how they used to for different tracks or teams. having fixed gate positions, fixed riding order etc, all takes away from a managers job
  2. i still think there's more to this involving Poole. Jack Holder was going to ride for Torun whatever, but i think there was no way Poole were going to let him get a 28 day ban and miss out on Jack leading up to the playoffs, so i wouldn't be surprised if there was 'advice' from the south coast also regards giving permission and taking the money
  3. you don't seem to understand do you .. you've said that people keeping away is the problem and clubs will close, yet that is EXACTLY what you're doing over a petty reason. you either want speedway to survive or you don't, and it looks like you don't
  4. i think 'cutting your nose off to spite your face' is the saying
  5. conference going back to Tenerife this year isn't it ....
  6. but isn't it what you've been doing for quite some time now?
  7. if speedway goes down the pan, it's because people are keeping away
  8. yet you're happy to keep away from speedway because of the tactical rule
  9. if Peterborough have written proof from Matt Ford allowing Holder to ride in Poland how will that then be with Poole? will Poole be sanctioned also? obviously Ford will say to let him go as he didn't want Holder getting a ban, so will that add anything to Ged's defence?
  10. this is what Kevin put on his facebook: If you wonder why I'm not on the centre green tonight. A few weeks ago I told the Club I'd be unavailable for the rest of the season (being busy with my new job) I've managed to get this evening off for the Final and on Monday I let Chris Louis know of my availability for tonight. He, quite rightly, thought I wouldn't be free on a Saturday night, so had arranged cover for presenting the final. However, I like to be involved on race days, so once I informed Steve (Re-Run) he was delighted that I can be part of the DVD presentation. Tonight is surely going to be the biggest speedway meeting at Foxhall for many years, so don't miss it folks! Look forward to seeing you there!
  11. with no TV deal currently in place for 2018, does this mean that GoSpeed will have to relinquish the rights to all media at speedway tracks? will this mean people will be able to do more filming of their own to put on social media etc, where it currently has the GoSpeed restrictions? we need more speedway in the public domain
  12. then the supporters all moan that the tractors are going round
  13. and you're sure it was his decision are you ....

  16. Pretty standard across the board I thought, not just Belle Vue
  17. if Polish rules are relaxed for 2018 and Niels comes back to KL, i hope that Robert decides to stay and works without the pressure he had this year which should push him to the next level without having to be number 1 in all the meetings.
  18. plenty of passing tonight, and all because of an awful track, shows how things don't change but the Poole fans seem to think it's great. Jack Holder is at the wrong club in my view, 100% Poole is not a Jack Holder sort of track. Seeing him at Peterborough against many of the same riders he was up against tonight he is totally different, and it shows with his improvement this year and how he's gone on to cope in Poland.
  19. The first thing that needs to happen for 2018 is all the promoters to work together as a united front, without petty bickering and one-upmanship that seems to be the issue so often. The next thing will be for those promoters to think of ways to keep the current fan base, don't worry about new people yet, retain what you have because that is getting smaller and smaller, and history shows the current fans are the ones more likely to introduce new people to the sport. Years ago 'in my day' things were fun, a lot of the riders were great characters to have around - and supporters went to see these riders, especially if there was a grudge somewhere. We can't accommodate the big names any more, there isn't the money or fanbase anywhere to have them, but what we do have is generally a good bunch of riders riding here, riders that are bloody exciting on the racetrack, and will produce great racing. Maybe we need to take a step back with the professional side of things, do riders NEED 2 bikes at every meeting? How often do you see a rider's bike fail and the one that comes out the pits for him is a team mates! Never seems to be their spare anyway! Ivan Mauger could go everywhere with a bike stuffed in his Citroen, why can't riders do similar now?
  20. Bewley was at Peterborough tonight, but i think the issue with Jack was his equipment and having to drive it there and back
