  1. i hope promotions have learnt a lesson not to pay guarantees but pay for points earnt. this is one of the problems i see in the sport when it comes to finances

  13. i think most people stay the other side of the river, more around the city and old town. the British Bulldog pub normally seems busy with speedway fans, or Molly Malone's in the old town
  14. Poole don't pay over the odds, but they pay, and that makes a massive difference these days
  15. if he didn't go on about living in Long Eaton i'd swear it was Starman
  16. it'll never be on the BBC, not enough box tickers

  19. incoming president is Len Silver. team of the year GB Speedway. Isle of Wight community club of the year. unsung hero John Sampford. Briggo got a special recognition award. Kenny McKinna & Paul Ackroyd from the SRBF and the WSRA received cheques from Rob Doran from his recent Ivan Mauger evening, Laurence Rogers and Bruce Cribb from the sale of Cribby's book, and Glen & Lynda Belcher from the annual summer BBQ. Phil Rising memorial was presented by James Easter for Andy Skeels of the Star who unfortunately couldn't make it. A Life Dedicated to Speedway award for Colin Pratt, accepted by Sue & Troy Pratt. Graham Miles did a short comedy stint as outgoing president Egon Muller couldn't be there. and plenty of takings at the bar!

  21. i normally go for 5 - 7 days and rent an apartment, really good prices and good quality accomodation
