  1. we know a song about that don't we Billy
  2. just requested that he chill out and got an email back calling me a f***ing hypocrite  he'll be back. the only thing i objected to was the personal abuse. as Sandman says, we have all given and taken (ooh, suits you sir), but i for one have never sworn at anyone on the forum. As far as i am concerned he is welcome on here but needs to stay off the vodka jelly beforehand
  3. i think it was because they couldn't get the 19" tyre round the 22" rim.
  4. er..i don't think i wound him up but i did get a nice( ) email..
  5. i think it was a full spread in Playboy that summer....
  6. couple of emails and they're best mates
  7. i'm all for the British riders doing well and all that, but the fact is we don't have any quality past the top 3. no disrespect to Dean Barker as he doing a quality job at the moment, but he would be just another Andy Smith in GP dreamland. Stead and Howe I expect, will be battling for last place.... yes, last place. Sorry but the quality is not there for a GP yet. 2 years...then do it, but now is too soon. Hamill has to be a good move... he could still be world champion (no i am not a USA supporter or Coventry, but speedway) and could come in and actually win the meeting. Sky Sports pay so much attention to the British riders in their coverage, and it could prove to be quite embarrassing. I hope I am proved wrong but I just don't see it.
  8. i know you're a Swindon fan so will remember Crumpie the Monkey for the quality he was. If the championship back then was GP format, how would Phil have got on? The guy was so consistent home and away.
  9. maybe part of the problem is due to the fact that his dad was such a great rider. basically he needs to be able to get the recognition Phil got when he was riding, and if it's not quite happening for him he just loses it. Sky sports are showing a LIVE package. Crump knows that. What they will try and do is get as many angles on whats going on as they can...it's their job. Live football on Sky and the cameras are down the tunnel (out of sight of the public) so there is no getting away from them. If Crump ever becomes World Champion (which I seriously doubt), will he be telling the Sky cameras to Eff Off then??? think not
  10. maybe not being as good as his old man is getting to him?
  11. so now you have admitted the fact, I suppose litigation is out of the window?
  12. Jim think it might be best if you took a break from the forum. i have posted some crap on these pages over the months but still haven't got around to calling people what you have called them, whether they deserve it or not. there are some bloody good people on this forum and they don't need bringing down one by one. you are an artist and it might be best if you channel your emotions into that for a while. there are people on the forum that have been going to speedway for a short time and others that have been going many years, that's what is good about the site...the full range of views and opinions. when people get abusive to an extent it causes upset, then it upsets the forum as a whole.
  13. Oh dear...Mr Rickardsson has gate 3 and doesn't win....on his home track. Hmmmm.... who was it that said gate positions count for nothing when he is around?
  14. Ivan is over in August Jim with his Long Track GP November 1st, why don't you have a word?
  15. Rudy Muts broke his neck riding, so I think that's what ended his career. Steve Gibson (SVG2 on the forum) was a good mate of Rudy so could possibly give you more info.... when he gets back from golfing in La Manga
  16. couldn't agree more Shazz.... 2 of the forum greats were born in that very year
  17. the final sentence of the last posting by Salty just about sums up the sport these days
  18. had a great quote somewhere.... oh yeah... "hic" allegedly
  19. don't do it Marty... i seen her... she's had enough, and all the pies
  20. just got round to reading this post again... what you say about the shape of the track is dead right... it's not all about dirt on the surface, it's about having banking and a means of passing, but you have to agree they both have to be there for good racing.. also what you say about Benfield taking the circus to big cities and trying to encourage media interest.. fully agree with it..Cardiff has to be better for watching than Kings Lynn for example. but then Lynn has better racing! If you are blinkered into thinking nice big venues is going to attract sponsorship etc you are not quite right.. what is going to attract sponsorship is exposure to an audience. if the racing is crap (which it tends to be on these 1 day tracks), the audience will dwindle along with money and interest. we could all go on for ages and argue for ages i am sure, but to me the fact remains Benfield is both killing the sport as well as building it. my worry is that they are building it for the short term (their profit), and will suffer in the future due to a lack of competitive racing and the future supporters thinking 'first out of the gate will win'... won't go and watch that
  21. come on Shazz, don't be shy.... you were selling programmes that night weren't you??
  22. just doesn't hold water...
  23. will be very interesting come the end of the GP.... think of a possible scenario... Loram beats Jonsson by 4 points to grab the 10th qualifying place for next year. What will they do? yes i know they will probably give a wild card but that's not the point
