  1. If memory serves me right, Boston actually had sea shells on the track - can you confirm honey? After all I'm sure you must have inspected the track closer than your average fan. ;-) Sorry mate, but seriously, do you remember the shells :?: something like that has been mentioned before but i can't say i noticed... only ridden there once and i had 2 rides. 1987 i went up as no8 for Canterbury and just got to ride against their top 2nd halfers. first race i led for 3 and 3 quarter laps when my plug cap came off, and in my 2nd race it was a tapes to flag win for me.... so no, i didn't get that close a look at the track
  2. So what one word WOULD you use to describe her Honey? er.....
  3. i have a couple of pictures taken at Boston... they're of the start/finish line with the chequered flag showing.... oh, and forgot to mention.... i'm going over the line first Boston was a clone of Kings Lynn in every way... imagine having 2 great tracks like that in the same league now....
  4. predictable is NOT a word used to describe Shazz..... :?
  5. unfortunately Eddy Jancarz was shot by his missus i think a few years ago.... was a bit of a fan of his at Wimbledon
  6. Maybe more threads like this will keep people's minds working during the winter months.... all it needs is for a stack of pictures. (norbold....)
  7. but then if the Pole in pic 18 is Jancarz, then the Pole in 24 is Jancarz (unless Eddy (RIP) loaned his leathers to someone else
  8. maybe you need to speak to someone that was groundsman at the stadium in the 60s and hung around with all the riders.... come on dad... about time you posted
  9. no 9 is Penhall inside Carter no 15 looks like Kelly Moran leading Carter no 5 is the same crash as 43 at Wimbledon 21 is possibly Mike Lee, Jan Andersson, Penhall, Gundersen 24 is Nielsen in front, possibly Morton and Jancarz behind 23...Muller, Gundersen, Crump, Stancl
  10. pic 41 looks like Jessup is it Simmo in white in pic 43? picture 47... possibly Bo Petersen (he looks tall) in front of John Davis 48 is Doug Wyer (going by the tassles on the leathers) 49 looks like a Leicester rider going by the jersey (red with yellow stripes) 51 is Puff Daddy
  11. i used to recognise riders by the leathers and they looked like PC's....never mind... and i was there too!!! should have guessed really as PC only scored about 4 or 5 points...
  12. er...and that would be...er... Ryan Sullivan. or is he too important to turn his own fuel on? think of Chris Louis sitting at the starting gate...he goes through his routine checking everything. maybe Sullivan should do that instead of spending half hour digging
  13. oh are we supposed to guess the rider in the b&w pics???? pic 18...starostin, pc, jancarz, crump pic 19... carter, nielsen, sigalos, stancl by the way...if we want to get back onto a handlebars thread, something i said in a previous one about Egon Muller's bars is proved correct in picture 23. someone said he had the same handlebars as everyone but just turned them up further.... i said he had his own shape and were used on his longtrack bikes too... just check the picture
  14. Lance King (y/B), Dennis Sigalos (white), Simon Wigg (blue) Morton or Davis (red) probably wrong though...
  15. black & white pictures are much better don't you think..... it gives the pictures atmosphere
  16. i took these pictures at Scheessel when Tatum won his first longtrack title. i was in the pits for most of the final and the practice so got some decent pictures of Tatum and Wigg mostly but also Simon Cross and Jem Doncaster. it was still a one-off meeting then. Wigg was runner-up after run-off with Tatum. some are taken in practice, and some in the final. http://community.webshots.com/user/the_womble
  17. what a fantastic shot of King Kenny in the '81 World Final.... what a rider..
