  3. Think most riders at some point in that era had a Cortina or the bulk of them had the Citroen Safari's.... you could get the bikes in them with the front wheel off (the bike)
  4. you're right on the vision side... they never plan for the future, everything is always 'next season', then they change it again. sky will get wind of the constant rule changes and pull the plug claiming the sport can't be credible with such constant changes it's why we need someone in charge to make decisions for the sport, with no interests in a team, someone that can lay down a 5 year plan and work to achieve that even if it upsets 'promoters' at times
  5. 6 individual 3 longtrack 1 wtc maybe???
  6. this caused quite a debate when we had it before but i am with you... also if Ivan hadn't won his first world title aged nearly 29 who knows.....
  7. am i due to say something then, Gem????
  8. i get the magazine, and always like to read it through, even though i haven't heard of some of the riders there are some good articles and also the stories of what some of the earlier riders got up to is good. in John Berry's article, i think he was getting not at Michael Lee directly, but the culture that was evident in the early 80s. good luck with the magazine
  9. Canterbury was more than a 1 line track.... Poole (old track) also had a footy pitch inside but was a fantastic shape. Exeter has a rugby pitch and dog track inside and is perfect for racing
  10. didn't look like Dugard..... but there you are... bring back the hats ... i can get them
  11. no idea!!!! at least i'm honest
  12. it is Screen (20) and Barker (23) so whoever said it, i think is correct

  17. as a Wimbledon fan we gave up shouting a long time ago. they have moved to MK and within 2 years will be called MK. if you want the speedway equivalent... oh it just happens to be Wimbledon again, moved to Eastbourne mid-season as Wimbledon Dons. then became Eastbourne Dons, then Eastbourne Eagles again. the same will happen in football, so no differences really, it's just that there are more people to shout with football. History means nothing to businessmen running the clubs, whatever the sport.
  18. it seems faster but you can get dizzy as you say....
  19. i might have remembered if i had driven..... but it was a little difficult. think the year before was at a big pub or club or something and i remember it was really foggy after...had to go and stay in Ramsgate that night
