  1. I don't think we should moan about Nige and Kelv too much, you can't please all the people all of the time. But as everyone else is.. The one that annoys me is when Kelvin says that 2 riders are "battling it out for 2nd and 3rd". No they're not, they are battling for 2nd, neither of them wants to finish 3rd, surely?
  2. I remember a test match at Oxford, for some reason Simon Wigg lent Alun Rossiter his bike for one important race. As Roscoe sat on Wigg's bike at the pit gate, and went to pull away, Wigg shouted "Go steady!" loud enough for everyone on turns 3 & 4 to hear.
  3. So the averages are obviously gonna be affected as many people have stated. When do the 1st green sheets comes out? and when will the riders change riding positions? Is the Prem league at the same time or is there a difference because of the differing circumstances?
  4. These 2 interviewed Ryan Sullivan a few years ago, and said; "Our producer has told us to ask if you've ever been in the lead, then been overtaken and not won the race?" If they are prepared to ask a guest an insulting question like that, it pretty much shows their contempt. Is Nigel Pearson still connected to this station?
  5. rolling averages may keep him at reserve. I take it thats the case then, he is staying at reserve?
  6. Well the fence at Reading didnt. and they dont at Swindon do they? Did they take it down at Oxford? I've never seen the fence come down anywhere, but those are the tracks i've been to the most.
  7. Nice idea calling it Reading, but the track is actually closer to Basingstoke than Reading... And its right on the edge of Tadley. And its not like Aldermaston is right next to Reading, there's a town in between. I can tel you now, Eastbourne speedway is a lot closer yo Eastbourne than Paices Hill is to Reading. These things get political don't they?
  8. This would be great for me, i could walk there! I do think though that the residents of Aldermaston village, which is about half a mile down the road would kick up. Some people will see a big difference between cars on a sunday and the evil of motorbikes running late into the evening (think someone said it would be weekdays). There is lots of housing half a mile in the other direction (where i live) and the sound can carry big time. Someone is bound to object aren't they? There's also a gypsy site next to the raceway for good measure... Having said all that, as a lifelong Reading fan who misses his speedway, and knowing one of the Roberts family, bloody good luck to them. Ibwould love to get involved
  9. Although I remember it, I was too young to know what the impact was... but I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the News Of The World.
  10. I agree completely. I haven't watched the final yet but have never liked the rule. Hopefully this has brought it to a head. But its one thing everyone saying they'll have to change it now, but as long as people keep paying at the gate, why would they change anything? So how about if you dont like the rule, you dont go to the World Cup next year?? with empty stadiums and losing money they'd have to listen.
  11. and I agree, it could,ve backfired. but it didn't. This was King's 2nd year (or is it more?). Did he look any better? (He had his moments at KL fair play to him) Would Bridger have done better? And unfortunately I think you may be in the minority because most people wouldn't put up with a few years of worse than this... although that may be where we're heading regardless.
  12. I can see why people are saying give the young ones a chance, theres no point flogging dead horses after all. but I just cant see Auty, Worrall, Mear, Roynon doing what the young Danes have turned up and done. It used to be unusual for a teenager to make it on the world stage, now its becoming commonplace. Just not for us.
  13. In my opinion, the double rule is wrong whoever uses it and wherever they use it. if we'd lost by 2, not having been able to use it, I'd be ranting. The fact we lost by 4 and used it, well, the right team won.
  14. Cheers BK, I hadn't seen it. Agree with everything, classic racing. Thats the stuff that made us all Speedway fans in the first place.
  15. Surely the most effective thing the fans can do is not go to GP or SWC events? But because fans have passion for their sport and/or their national team, can't see it happening, so BSI and Ole will continue to take the p**s, as long as our money comes with it!
  16. And if he hadn't been dropped, the difference would have been what? We would still have been in the race off... which Lee was picked for.
