I'm able to confirm this, coz in the words of Max Boyce "I was there". Mear could only talk at a level of 110 decibels and take one mouthful out of a pint before having a fag and ordering another pint coz his was warm! Lovely boy.

The Dilemma Of Greg Hancock
hooversquash replied to Grand Central's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Point acknowledged everyone about my posting, but the point was there is a governing body to complain to about the individual actions of riders. Sadly, we miss the opportunity to make any real impact on riders (and don't give me any wasted posting about 'Human rights', when I say, give extended bans to those who step over the line, the UK is likely to withdraw from this farcical law in due course). I'm seriously considering going through the process of obtaining a League Referee's Licence if only to impose some justice to some of the riders I whine about during the season. I'll be happy to 'kick em out of a meeting'. Bring it on. lol -
The Dilemma Of Greg Hancock
hooversquash replied to Grand Central's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The SCB seeks to act as the independent body to ensure that the BSPA, Member’s Tracks, Riders and Officials all act within the Rules and Regulations of the SCB and most importantly within the best interest of Speedway motorcycle racing. The SCB each year produces a Rule Book known as the Speedway Regulations which covers all aspects of the National sport including the general rules of the Auto Cycle Union (disciplinary), the BSPA Rules (Team Formations, Meeting Rules) as well as Regulations concerning Technical, Medical and other Legislative matters. I think they might have something to say about it BWitcher don't you! -
The Dilemma Of Greg Hancock

Don't know if anyone has already suggested it, but if you want to see action taken against Nikki Pedersen by the governing body, then you should be voicing your opinion to SCB Prime Officer (Graham Reeve: graham@scbgb.co.uk) who will no doubt bring the man to task and ask him to answer for his actions. -
I'm led to believe that the main stand is to be demolished and replaced with a new stand to attract back the punters of yesteryear.

Rye House V Workington... 5th July, 7pm
hooversquash replied to Shadders's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The whole promotion failed tonight. Team were shambles. Two '0's from tactical rides. Even Lambert beats Boxall to win a heat when he couldn't win a raffle for us. The stat line official cocked up the tapes so much he had to go onto the track during a race to rescue them. When he got them twisted up for about the 7th time (I wasn't counting) he got stick from the spectators and turned and sweared at them. No apology from Len could placate then dwindling 200ish crowd. The end is very near. -

According to the latest Greensheets, he has a 4.44 average for Lakeside. Could he fit in at Rye?

Ht:13. Wells chased hard by Allen who slides out on final bend to hand 4-2 to Sheffield. And guess what. Lykke out in ht:14 for 4 on the trot! Can of Fosters £2.20. No wonder the crowd gets smaller each week. Ht14: Haines excluded for repeated jump start despite previous warnings. Garrity/Lykke take on Knight/Koppe
