  1. Ha Ha, the first match is at Stoke the second at IOW!!1 - not really (have to put this as Mr Williams Scrutinises everything I write!!!) he's like a dad to me hahaha
  2. RETRO & SPEEDWAY - Memories are made of this or SPEEDWAY AND RETRO Memories are made for this. or It used to be Dolly Parton, but now-a-days BackTrack and Classic are the best pair!!
  3. I should point out before some smart alec does, both clubs, means Rockets first v Stoke and Islanders second v Cobras.
  4. How about STARS and BIKES TOUR sound real good and rhymes with yer flag you so proudly wave. Cant wait for it.
  5. Yes of course, it is for all and we are sorry you didnt get to see your team race and of course a narrow "islanders" win
  6. FERRIES A JOLLY GOOD FELLOW It’s expensive being a speedway fan these days, what with travel food, admission, programmes etc but WIGHTLINK FERRIES The sponsors of the Isle of Wight in conjunction with the Island speedway (are offering fans who travelled to Tuesdays rained off match against Dudley) have acted to try and help those who arrived at the stadium from the mainland. Any fans who travelled by WIGHTLINK to the meeting, can send their proof of purchase when the meet has been rained off i.e. they can send in a receipt/copy of bank or credit card statement showing the transaction to WIGHTLINK Ferries and they will refund their monies. (full details below) A spoke person said, we really do appreciate the support we get and Dudley fans made a long trek to see their team, many people gave up a lot of time to make the effort, only for the rain to spoil the day. We really do want to thank them and also say a big thank you to WIGHTLINK our sponsors who have once again shown they care about our club and those who support it, there really would be no speedway on the Island without them. Applications for refunds should be sent to; Kerry Jackson, Marketing Manager, Wightlink, Isle of Wight Ferries, Gunwharf Terminal, Gunwharf Road, Portsmouth, PO1 2LA
  7. for those that missed it http://www.itv.com/meridian-west/back-after-bike-crash95948/
  8. Not full strength Islanders, Ben hopwood was injured at Scunthorpe on Friday.
  9. Yep you know that song "You'll never walk alone" well its a lie!!!
  10. I blame you Derek, everywhere yer go the club closes down, please dont come to the IOW!!! Seriously I hope the Fen tigers are back soon.
  11. Just to let you know the Islanders will feature on ITV Meridian tonight (Thursday) between 6-6.30pm. The story is regarding Brendan Johnson and his remarkable recovery for serious injuries to become British under 18 champions.
  12. Just finished editing this super match, the score certainly didnt do the meeting justice. But at the end of the night, those "pussycats" well and truly had their tales tucked between their legs. Well done IOW all 1-7 rode as a unit and scored well. Heat 11 probably one of the best races of the season. Super stuff. DVD's are ready!
  13. http://www.hertfordshiremercury.co.uk/Sport/Speedway/ footage here.
  14. Well just edited this pretty entertaining match. and can't disagree with Bossman too much tbh, only thing I would add is that the ref was a bit inconsistant, Sure Shane locked up to cut back in heat 2, but if he hadnt he would have run into Arron, but Sarjeant ran into him, so could have been given either way, Sargent could have been excluded from the re-start as he ran into Stokes. Points were thrown away by Hart who seemed to be trying to impress just a bit too much and he clearly took out Struwick in heat 6. Considering the injuries Rye did well and I have no doubt at full strength, it would have been a home win, but leagues are won by going to the right place at the right time. Credit to Bournemouth who used their team management knowledge well to sneak the win. Footage will be on the Herts Mercury site tomorrow. DVD's available from teh track on Saturday.

    Jack Adams

I have had a request from some people who are trying to trace any information on their husband's grandfather. We have found out his name was John Headon Adams, but he was known as Jack Adams and he was one of the first speedway riders in 1929 and rode for West Ham at Custom House. On the Reading Speedway website there is reference to Jack in 1938 " ... on 31 July Reading were challenged by a team from High Beech. The latter match resulted in a 59-24 victory for Reading with Jim Boyd and Jack Adams both recording 12 point maximums for Reading". There is another reference to Jack on the Gus Kuhn website referring to 20 riders going out to Zamalek, a district of Cairo, to construct a track ... we don't know any more than this regarding Speedway. So over to you good folk, can you help? any info and any photo's pprecated. Thanks everyone.
  17. Some footage from Heat 10 on my website, the full dvd is also available. http://t2tvmediauk.webplus.net/index.html
  18. ACTION FROM Saturdays encounter can be found ! http://www.hertfordshiremercury.co.uk/Sport/Speedway/Cobras-go-second-in-National-League.htm
  19. What a super match and a credit tto the National league, young riders enjoying themselves and providing some great entertainment, plenty of passing and pleanty of incidents. Well done both teams for a thoroughly entertaining match. Owen, Morley, Hazelen, Garrity, Morris and Branford's efforts were excellent and Allotts swoop round Lee was also worth a mention. The DVD with more replays than I can ever remember having to edit, is now ready from T2TV or can be collected at the track next Saturday.
  20. Very sad to here this news, Jean was a lot more than just a supporter, she was a friend to, not only to me, my wife Jackie and daughter Kirsty, but everyone. She will be sadly missed. Thinking of you Ray, not just today but all the time, keep in touch. Ken, Jackie and Kirsty @T2TV.
  21. There is no doubt this is how the World Cup should be staged, teams of 7, 15 heats in one country, no 3 countrys, no race off, no jokers, 2 groups of 4, straight knock out, best two teams in final, over a 2 week period. It was awsome and if the World cup was staged like this every 2 years, it would gain some credibility, attract the Media and attract BIG crowds (Remember them?). and we would see the REAL WORLD CHAMPIONS!
