  1. My first visit to Mildenhall for some 8 years, really enjoyed it, looks like teh good old days are not too far away.
  2. Some footage here http://www.hertfordshiremercury.co.uk/Sport/
  3. I think the problem re track shop is simple to produce these items badges, coats, hats, boards and even a separate match programme (which i think there should be) etc cost quite a bit of dosh and as was quite obvious yesterday, there is not enough people coming through the turnstyles to make is a worth while issue. I did make the dvd's Hackney branded, but thats because I am stupid and sometimes have spare time! Shadders you must have watched Blue Peter in the past, I'm sure you have some sticky back plastic and old coats, you could make some!! (I noticed yesterday tehb track shop wasnt even open., I dont even think parsoles was there and he reckons they NL is tops, mind you he also says short track is good too! (I think he even cut my up on the slip road coming out of oxford on friday!) I personally like to see all speedway racing, but I also think the naming of Hackney is not catching and really doesnt mean a lot to either Rye or Lakeside fans and although great for those few, and it is a few old Hackney fans it doesnt mean a lot. Maybe we need to rename the riders as Barrie "Thomas" Evans, Ben "bengt" Morley, Dave "morton" Mason, na lets not go there..... However 2011 Hackney dvd's are available from T2TV.
  4. Nice post, you will be pleased to know the dvd is available and at ONLY £6 incl P&P a real bargain!
  5. Not a bad match at all as a rather unlucky Colts team went down narrowly. They certainly deserved to take something home from this one. Plenty of good races a few passes and a scoreline that always kept the interest there. Glad all the riders who took some nasty tumbles are ok. The full 69 minute dvd will ba available at Rye House tomorrow and of course some action will be on the Mercury website on Tuesday morning.
  6. So who produces this stuff, the chap at Rye or the chap at lakeside? We are doing the DVD's at Rye and Steve at Lakeside (last nights is ready now) but I think this would have carried more weight if it had been all at one track or the other, fans know then when to go and that its on a certain day. Maybe it should have been hackney at Rye and West Ham at Lakeside, then they can fight over a Olympic stadium and boot out both Spurs and Leyton Orient! They are a great bunch of kids and (plus me old mate Tragic of course, but compared to the yanks, he's still a kid), sadly this match was no more than a training exercise and really was pretty poor and no better than when Wimbledon tried their comeback v Belle Vue, but this I feel will last longer, would have been nice if Finn Jensen, Zenon Plech and Banger had been their too with Thomo. But never the less, it was great to see those Hawks race jackets back on track.
  7. All will be revealed soon (well July anyway hahahaha
  8. Brendan at reserve I am afraid was my fault, hands up and shot later. So far we have Nick at 1, Brendan probably at 2 but not confirmed, Lee or ano at 3 and 4 (waiting on confirmation before I can release name), Possibly Starkey at 5, Tom and Jon at 6 & 7. IOW v Newport in KOC, 1st meeting 19th April BU21 semi and week after should be USA touring team. The new loo's are being built by the pits and Bryn will by all his friends a drink at the first meeting if they get to the track before 7am and say hello to him ...Afraid I cannot confirm anything else until I am informed.
  9. sorry but this makes a mockery of the NL,why did they just not go under the name of HULL at least it might generate interest from Vikings fans.
  10. Sadly not Ben and also not Danny, but two more will be announced this week and the final two soon after one may well surprise a few!
  11. MMMMM interesting then will IOW be IOW & Southampton and Belle Vue with Rochdale and Stoke & Tamworth, maybe Scunthorpe & Sheffield, Eastbourne & Hastings, makes no sense at all really, just old names which really wont make any old fans come. can understand if the Olympic stadiums are in line for the future. next we will have me old mate Bryn doing Lanning one week and Sear the next... Lets face it us speedway folk will go what ever they call it, but will it pull in new fans?
  12. How many of you remmeber King Cinder on BBC back in the 70's? I have the chance of obtaining all six programmes (there was only six), I have the book and a copy of the script etc, so this will make a great addition. Just wondered how many of you out there remembered the programme which was filmed at Rye House.
  13. Welcome to the PL, another super local derby for the Rockets
  14. I rushed from Charlton for this, I followed teh crowd and ended up in tesco's!! seriously this was a very good meeting, like has been said, how you can finish 4th and not be in the play-off's is crap, it is why our sport needs a major overhaul. Plenty of good passing on a bitterly cold night, was glad to get home for MOTD, first time for ages!
  15. The Double dvd of this meeting is available from T2TV, see link below
  16. I have filmed some horrible crashes in the past, but this was awful, havent edited teh footage yet, not sure I really want to, but I guess now I know the riders are relivity ok, I can go aheead. Well done Newport good result for a super young team, very impressed with Tom Young. DVD available by tomorrow.
  17. All in all this was very one sided, Only Shane and Jo really riding to their full potential, the rest sadly were not at the races. For the Islanders, it was a bumper pay day and three very comfortable points.
  18. Actually it was the final race and a bit of the presentation, for news purpose, I didnt see the World cup presented, because (as far as I know) there wasnt one!!!
  19. http://www.hertfordshiremercury.co.uk/Sport/Speedway/Great-Britan-finish-last-in-World-Under-21-Final-at-Rye-Housei.htm some footage here
  20. Great match, great racing, lots of passing , close finishes and a last heat decider, what more can you ask for, DVD available from T2TV. (sure many Heathens fans will want to see thsi one.)
  21. The Wightlink Islanders management would like to stress that the Wightlink Flyer will run as per normal for tomorrow night's (Thursday's) meeting vs Dudley. Flyer tickets are normal prices and the Bus will leave the Pier in Ryde at 7.00pm to go to the Stadium. There were rumours abounding on Tuesday that it was NOT running, this was NEVER the case, it IS DEFINATELY running as normal.
  22. Some action here http://www.hertfordshiremercury.co.uk/Sport/Speedway/Rampant-Rockets-stuff-Stoke.htm
  23. Entertaining it was, plenty to talk about and we run in a reasonable time. some footage will go on the Mercury site. DVD's available at the track tomorrow.
