  1. Mildenhall guest for Monday announced in the Mildenhall Journal as being Buxtons Robert Brandford
  2. According to the local Mildenhall Journal Mark Baseby should return for this meeting and the guest for Cameron Heeps is Buxtons Robert Brandford!
  3. No problems, hopefully Mildenhall will make it to the playoffs, something from Saturdays fixture at Hackney would certainly help. 33 points looks like the target to me! PS - Like the Atmosphere reference in your signature
  4. Things have moved on with the recent matches leaving the table tonight as 1 Stoke 13 matches 34 2 Mildenhall 15 matches 29 3 Scunfield 12 matches 26 4 Hackney 14 matches 24 5 Dudley 15 matches 22 6 Belle Vue 12 matches 20 Stoke look pretty much assured a Play Off berth as do Scunfield imo, leaving Mildenhall, Hackney, Belle Vue and Dudley to fight for the remaining two places. Mildenhall's fixtures - Home: Newport Away: Hackney / Scunfield Hackney's fixtures - Home: Mildenhall / Scunfield Away: Stoke / Belle Vue Dudley's fixtures - Home: Buxton / Kings Lynn Away: Isle of Wight Belle Vues fixtures - Home Hackney / Kings Lynn / Newport / Stoke Away: Sheffield / Newport
  5. I was in the stand jb and it happened so quickly it was hard to tell, but the photo sequence in the EADT on Monday seemed to back up your view of things. Also Stefan wasn't excluded as suggested on the updates. Whatever the important thing here is that he was ok, he has shown great promise whenever I have seen him and hopefully he will soon be on track.
  6. I think if Jerran rode for us he would come in on his last NL average, although I stand to be corrected?? The rules are so difficult to keep up with If that was the case, according to the BSPA site it is 9.04 which is too high to replace Cameron as he is 8.74.
  7. Gave an honest opinion on the Baseby incident mate, and didn't say the referee made the right decision in Heat 14! As I said above we were cheering what had become a 5-1 to win the match for us when there was an awful coming together near to the line. Immediately our concern was for Stefan Nielsen's well being. Everything happened so quickly it was I think a very difficult decision to make?
  8. After a hard fought victory today it's on to Rye House next saturday to face Hackney! Hopefully Mark Baseby will return and we can find a good guest to replace Cameron Heeps. There are plenty of options including Ashley Morris / Paul Starke / one of the Worralls / Ashley Birks etc. We also have the bonus of Daniel Halsey at reserve and he should be amongst the points at his old track, as should Joe Jacobs who has shown a real liking for the Rye House track. Should be very close and we do, I feel, need to get something from this meeting as things are getting very tight for the play off positions. Hopefully we can get the win!
  9. It backfired?? We won! Your attempts to provoke an arguement fall flat roguetrader! We currently sit in 2nd place in the league, with good prospects of making the playoffs and are in the semi finals of the KO Cup. All this for a team that wasn't running in February of this year.I think you will find Mildenhall supporters are more than happy with that and we certaintly ar enot a spent force We are also getting good racing on a good race track in front of excellent crowds, so post as much of your bile as you wish it is childish at best .
  10. First of all glad to read the above post and that Stefan Nielsen is not too badly hurt, we were in the mainstand cheering a matchwining 5-1 when there was the most horrible coming together or riders, machinery and the fence, thankfully he is ok The meeting itself was, like last weeks meeting versus Stoke, a great advertisement for National League speedway featuring some excellent racing and it certainly wasn't a case of Scunthorpe throwing points away. Branfords efforts matched our guest Ben Morley's exactly and effectively cancelled each other out! The Mildenhall side minus Heeps and Mark Baseby battled hard to win the meeting against a fine team who in my opinion look favourites for the overall title if they can field their strongest side in the important playoff fixtures. The Worrall brothers and Birks were all very impressive as was young Nielsen who looks very promising. For Mildenhall Blackbird impressed as did Aaron Baseby who put in a fine performance from reserve and was I felt somewhat unlucky to be excluded from heat 4, after Birks fell. Jack Haregreaves as always put in a captains display Another excellent crowd and the smart initiative of letting kids in for free is certainly working Hopefully a decent guest can be sourced for next weeks clash against Hackney at Rye House, if we can get something from this meeting the play offs should just about be sorted Finally great to catch up with our Northern Fen Tiger HT!! Get down again soon mate!
  11. If PL riders are allowable and can be considered if doubling their average is not greater than 8.74?? Then I'd certainly be looking to use Jerran Hart at Rye House next saturday!
  12. If Jon Armstrongs average did fit he would certainly be a possibility. Personally I'd think Jay Herne would be the choice. Has shown a liking to Mildenhall before and is a fast gater.
  13. Yes so I hear Montie I guess this is one 'Aussie' you and your Scunny buddys won't be bleating on about hey!
  14. Taken from the BSPA site Mildenhall Fen Tigers teenage Aussie star Cameron Heeps is expected to be missing for up to a month, after it was confirmed he has broken a wrist in a last heat fall in his side's 45-45 draw at the Isle of Wight on Tuesday. The fifteen-year-old, who had won his opening six races, fell as he challenged the home pair of Nick Simmonds and Danny Warwick. "It was a racing accident pure and simple," said co-promoter Michael Lee. "Cam high sided and fell heavily on his wrist. He's been to see a specialist today (Weds) and will visit another one tomorrow (Thurs), which will give us a much better idea on how bad a break it is. Like the rest of us Cam is gutted about what's happened. One thing is certain, we will not try and rush him back. He is still only a young lad, with a fantastic future ahead of him, and we will do nothing that will jeopardise that. We now how to be patient and keep everything crossed that if we reach the play-offs Cam will have recovered and be able to rejoin the team then. It's a real shame and took the gloss of us going top of the table, but that's speedway and we just have to get on with it." In the meantime Mildenhall are looking for a replacement for Sunday's crucial clash against Scunthorpe at West Row. Lee added, "Cameron would have been riding at Number 1 on Sunday on an 8.74 average, so we are looking for someone around that figure who can step in. We should have a better idea of who that will be by the end of Thursday". Looking at those available I'd say Robert Branford is the best option available to Mildenhall.
  15. Excellent post 25yf! Especially the final paragraph, surely there is no Mildenhall supporter who can be unhappy with the way the club is being run and the team they have to watch, long may it continue
  16. Or on the Monday after depending on the interpretation of when the seven days start
  17. Of course he won't be fazed CS, Rogue Trader has a history of posting anti Heeps bile on here Yesterday was an excellent meeting I thought, in front of a very healthy crowd. It was a great advert for National League speedway and probably at the end of the day a fair result. There was some excellent racing especially the race you mention where Heeps defied his age and limited experience of team speedway to team ride Jacobs home, blocking out Atkin. Also a brilliant race between Heeps, Hargreaves and Lambert earlier in the meeting with Lambert finding his way past both Fen Tigers to record the win! Lamberts 21 point maximum speaks for itself, his liking for West Row continues and it will be interesting if our paths cross again in the play offs and KO Cup final, fingers crossed. Good to see the MK 'Knights' on the track in the second half, good luck to all those working to bring the club back
  18. Well the next 9 days wil go a long way to solving the puzzle 12-08-11 Scunthorpe v Dudley NL - 13-08-11 Stoke v Dudley NL - 14-08-11 Mildenhall v Stoke NL - 14-08-11 Newport v Hackney NL - 16-08-11 Dudley v Belle Vue NL - 16-08-11 Isle of Wight v Mildenhall NL - 17-08-11 King's Lynn v Stoke NL - 18-08-11 Sheffield v Isle of Wight NL - 18-08-11 Sheffield v Belle Vue (double-header) NL - 21-08-11 Mildenhall v Scunthorpe - NL Hopefully the weather will not play a big part
  19. From the Official Stoke website lines up are : Mildenhall: Jack Hargreaves (Captain) (6.94) Mark Baseby (6.93) Rider Replacement Daniel Halsey (5.18) Joe Jacobs (6.10) Lewis Blackbird (6.66) Aaron Baseby (4.66) Cameron Heeps (3.00) Stoke: Simon Lambert (9.13) Tim Webster (8.59) Rider Replacement James Sarjeant (5.62) Tony Atkin (Captain) (7.83) Jaimie Pickard (7.86) Ben Reade (3.00) Gareth Isherwood (3.65) Hopefully Mildenhall can claim all three points from this one, it will be tight but if Heeps has recovered from his fall at Newport we should just do it.
  20. Mildenhall have Home: Stoke / Scunfield / Newport Away: Isle of Wight / Hackney / Scunfield
  21. Really dissapointed I cannot make this one, especially after last nights performance at Dudley! I assume it will be R/R for both sides with both Brendan Johnson and Joe Jacobs on international duty in Sweden? Hopefully Mark Baseby will be fit, and if Cameron Heeps takes to the Newport track like he did the Wolverhampton one I can see a second away victory in a week for the Fen Tigers
  22. I wouldn't disagree Tas, I'm sure Lewis did not mean to take Ashley down, and is not a rider who takes other riders out but............. from where we stood just before the first bend turn, Lewis did seem to straighten and go into Ashley Morris, nothing malicious just a racing incident you see most weeks at any track. The referee did however, in my opinion make the right decision, as he did a couple of races later when Adam Roynon was excluded for a not dissimiliar incident! Good to see you last night, and hope you are up and about soon
  23. Lewis also rode briefly for Oxford, 2007 I think if memory serves.
  24. Sadly another Mildenhall thread going off topic! If as expected he is at Ipswich next season (fingers crossed doubling up and with us still) just enjoy him while you can like we are. The lad is destined for great things and what will be will be
