Mildenhall V Dudley - National League Shield 8/4/2012
PhilK replied to PhilK's topic in National League Speedway
There are seven riders in the Mildenhall team, not just Cameron There will be plenty of individual battles throughout the meeting that could decide the result, but it should be close. Weather looks set to hold, so bring it on -
Stoke's team is within the limit - Birks, Pickard, Atkin, Naylor, Worrall, Reade, Berwick. I don't quite inderstand where McKinna fits in, although I don't think he is in their seven. On their website it states - Potters team manager Malcolm Vasey commented "Adam is a very useful and experienced rider who has unfortunately suffered with injuries. He is a very competent rider who will help us out at the start of the season and we will review the situation when everyone is available." But he hasn't ridden in the two meetings to date, perhaps he will feature on Saturday?

Agree 100% with that -
What! I truly cannot believe some of the rubbish that gets posted on this forum!! As frostylion states it is a challenge fixture! Rhys Naylor I read is recovering from a shoulder injury so Stoke have drafted in young Greenwood! Surely that makes more sense than R/R or using one of their Midland Junior League squad before they are ready? If I was a paying fan tonight I would be pleased with the option Stoke are taking. As Montie correctly points out, surely it is good news that greenwood is being given as much chance as possible to ride? The only possible negative I can see would be if Greenwood took a knock tonight and missed any Scunthorpe fixtures, but as Rob Godfrey and the lad himself are ok with it then fine. My only question with Stoke is over the Adam McKinna signing and where he fits in, but I would suspect that the Speedway Star copied the BSPA site and got the Stoke 1-7 incorrect I thought it was Birks, Pickard, Atkin, Naylor, Worrall, Reade and Berwick. Which is below the limit of 40.

Totally agree!! Leave the guy alone, he is providing a service and hardly hurting anyone. If you don't like it Jack Keen I'd say the simple answer is to stay away from the site!! Surely not too difficult? -
Only a week to go until the opening of the 2012 Season at Mildenhall. As we did last season we start with the visit of the Dudley Heathens to West Row, and if this meeting is as exciting as last seasons it should be well worth seeing. Mildenhall have three new riders in their seven for 2012 and will possibly line up 1. Cameron Heeps 2. Joe Jacobs 3. Stefan Nielsen 4. Daniel Halsey 5. Lewis Blackbird 6. Nathan Stoneman 7. Josh Bates Dudley are led by West Row track record holder Adam Roynon. Looks like it will be close again, I'd think Mildenhall by 6! Hopefully be a big crowd to see the 2011 KO Cup Winners take on the 2011 4TT Champions.

Sure you are correct there Vog, but with your first meeting next saturday time is running out. Danny Stoneman quite impressed me at Mildenhall last season, looked like he could improve given time, maybe he could be one option

Was Tim Nobes there ?
-
Stoke needed two riders not one I thought as Birks, Worrall, McKinna, Atkin, Pickard and Reade plus one doesn't fit? These are the results from today - OPEN: 1. Oliver Greenwood (Scunthorpe) 12 2. Ross Walter 11 3. Dan Berwick 10 4. Shaun Tedham 9, Alex McLeod 9

Stoke certainly have a decent top four availaibilty allowing! Although it will be interesting to see who, if any, are chosen from the riders listed in todays Speedway Star to fill the final two slots?
-
They look very well balanced to me, especially if Darren Mallett returns soon. The team will always have a decent reserve pairing the way it's been structured, and i'd say that a play off place is the least they should be looking for.
-
Have the three riders been announced yet?
-
Great news, looking forward to seeing Josh and Nathan making their initial steps into league speedway. Hopefully already penciled in as Fen Tigers for 2013
