Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
Gresham replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Just trying to get it to stop fella...fed up of reading topics where it turns into arguments and becomes all about them. I just don't get it...trying to prove one another wrong. Is it their only way of feeling important these days? Too old to get a boner, so they get their kicks from abusing one another. Just talk Speedway...that's all you want from this forum...a release from all the idiots in the real world...then you find even worse one's on here. Time they grew some...and actually stopped posting. Take's a bigger man to walk away....or take it to pm. It happens in lots of threads...not just this one. It's the same old people. You think it's right to have a Speedway forum full of name calling and accusations? Really? No one wants to read it...it's pathetic. It's become like the Daily Sport on here...a pile of sh*t. By your reasoning, if you don't like the content, don't read it. Is that what it's come to? People spend more time slagging one another off, than actually talking about speedway. -

I missed that...what happened? I was stood on first bend so missed it. -

Agreed...must be frustrating. Same goes for BWD...makes the gate then struggles to keep out front, or gets in good positions to pass, but just doesn't have the speed to pass...again must be really frustrating. I would have put Allen in the Fours instead of Wright to give the lad a break...Allens on fire atm. -
I got a message from EE saying they are finalising talks with BT sport. Anyone with EE will soon be able to watch BT sport for free, for 6 months using their App on phone or Ipad. Speedway for free doesn't sound to bad :-)

The score line didn't do justice to just how well Workington rode. They trapped extremely well in the first third of the meeting, then Somerset sorted themselves out. Rebels funnily looked better as the track got slicker. Apparently new load of shale put down during the week, so it may have caught a few of the homeside out...plus a couple obviously looked low on Power...Zach, BWD and Charles to some extent. Tungate was flying...in fact times were fast all night. Good healthy crowd in too. Fair play to the Workington fans who drove 9 hours to get there. A good nights racing. -

Please lock this thread mods...its embarrassing. Some right pond life follow speedway it seems. Anyone new to this sport would never go again after reading this crap. Some people are obviously nobody in real life and need the attention on here...very very sad. Muppets -

If this morning's forecast is anything to go by, can see this being another Kings lynn and Swindon....dry all day, then Thunder storms arriving at 7 ish :-( -

Don't think I'll bother going to Swindon then...what a farce...only 3 Swindon riders racing. Much prefer Somerset anyway ;-) -

No I'm really looking forward to this fixture...please no rain :-) I just want to see two full strength teams, with no RR's and guests. A close meeting preferable, a win for Somerset in the final heat, BWD to get his bike sorted out and get back to his best, and no hold ups on the M5...the only hold ups I want to see are on my girlfriend ;-) -

Well she's done a 'Tai Woffinden' and sworn at 40 000 supporters over the mic...so I wouldn't put it past her. I know she's sworn at Players Agents when being involved in deals...'along the lines of 'don't be so f**ckin stupid'... However much people don't like it, Professional sport is still run in a very aggressive and often 'offensive' manner...that's if you are easily offended by swearing. I get the impression many fans on here, would be swooning out of their leather chesterfields with light heads and heart palpitations if they heard the amount of swearing that went on in Sport, from Board room level down...it happens...Been there, done it, see it. People are so easily offended these days... -
So according to the Rebels website, they are fielding a full 1-7 and list the team as normal 7 riders. I hope this is correct and half of them aren't going to be missing and riding for Swindon the same night. Can anyone confirm?

A 'no no' from who? Too many soft liberal types, feeling offended for other people... no one knows the build up to the words said...for all we know the rider could have said worse before hand, which led up to the heated comment. What are you going to do... carry on saying it's a 'no no' every time you see a team member swear at another team member ( employee ) in sport? Can see it now... Alex Ferguson to Rooney... ' get out there and put some 'f**kin effort in and stop whining about being played out of position, or you can 'f**k off right now'. Rooney to Ferguson... 'I've consulted the British Speedway forum... I know my rights, you can't speak to me like this, I'm offended...I will be consulting my solicitor hence with and speaking to Tai woffinden about how it should be done'....strops off with tail between his legs. Give me strength...for a sport that's participated by hard men, it seems to be followed by a band of easily offended soft liberal types, that screwed up this country long ago....all full of opinion, quick to criticise and feel easily offended for others. At the way this is going...the Army will be being prosecuted for being at war and killing people and swearing at them....as it goes against their human rights...oh hang on a minute...Doh! Palm to face multiple times ;-) -

Sport can get heated... the words allegedly used, is nothing compared to what I've heard pretty much at every Professional football training session I've attended. It's common day practice. And when I used to be in the pits, the air was often blue and arguments and insults flying everywhere...you need to be pumped up to do these sports, it's like going to war. People are way too easily offended these days...it's a mans sport, they need to grow some, if they can't deal with 'in the moment, stressed heated comments'. It's often said in the heat of the moment...and then blown out of proportion. No , you were right mate, I got your drift, all good :-) -

Tracks are not difficult...unless bone dry and slick. That's not going to happen consistently unless riding indoors. These high revving bikes make the rear wheel spin to such an extent, that they just don't grip on anything that's damp. It's very simple...produce tracks with material that is more resistant and easier to drain from water...like in years past, introduce track protection...they found money for air fences...they can do the same. Standardise engines to certain tolerances, that are condusive to racing on a surface that isn't always bone dry and slick...it's not rocket science...is it :-) -

Gresham replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Totally with you on this... Speedway now has high revving bikes, that spin out of control with the slightest bit of 'DAMP...not even wet...plus they also don't like deeper tracks. Tracks seem to be using material that doesn't like any water at all. Combine this with your normal British weather....it all doesn't add up. The basics of this sport are now a farce. We run bikes that can't be raced on anything it seems, other than slick and bone dry. We use track material that doesn't combine well or drain well with a shower of rain. We have a Sport that is notorious for rain off's because of the elements, yet have never in all the years tried to find a way of protecting the track. Put all those ingredients together...and you have got a complete no go. Why the people that run this sport can't see it, I don't know. Also as a rider...why put up with it? All the travel and costs for all these rain offs....complete joke of a sport now tbh. -
Apparently parents are role model...and Tai Woffinden using the Feck word isn't...neither are his tats and piercings. I wouldn't let any children read this thread, as it goes to show just how pathetic adults can turn out. Watch Tai...you'll learn how to become a Speedway rider. Read the Speedway forum...you learn how sad, bitter and twisted some old gits are. Some of you on here are far worse than anything Tai has done...some very sad old feckers...

Plastic Scale Model Speedway Riders...
Gresham replied to Gresham's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Thank you....much appreciated. -
... anyone know where you can buy these from? Looking for the basic models...not one's that have already been painted into specific riders, which you can buy from Club shops or ebay etc. Is there an online shop or manufacturer you can buy these from? Googled it...can't find it any where. These in the link show one's already painted...but so you know what I mean. They are roughly the same size as the die cast Britain's one's that were popular in the 70's. http://pamiatki-kibica.pl/?miniaturki-wlasny-wzor,135 A nod in the right direction would be helpful for a project I have going....thank you.

I've seen sponges like they found used for packaging. Perhaps they were always in there... and found their way in from the manufacturer whilst being delivered?

You've pretty much described many indigenous races and tribes around the world. He is a role model to children...in as much as he has proved you can be successful at something, regardless of your education or other abilities in life. I can't believe the dogs abuse this lad is getting. No body knows what's going on in his head. He's a young lad that had to suffer a year with his father dying of cancer. Can you imagine how traumatic that is....especially when you are that close. Many people deal with grief in different ways...drink, drugs, self harm, tattoo's, piercings are common with such like. Some are stronger and deal with it ok. Many Sportsman get to the top of their game and then make decisions on how they can stay at the top. Many footballers leave these shores and ply their trade abroad. It pays better often and in some cases you have better competition. Tai Woffinden owes nobody nothing. What is apparent...is there is a very small minority of bigoted close minded old folk on here, who don't like Tai because he's 'different'. The fact is...he has tattoo's, piercings and swears and holes in his ears...Get over it. It's not conventional...but it is in other parts of the world. The fact you think you cannot call him a role model, because of that, is the most distasteful thing I've heard on here in a long time. Some people need a long hard look in the mirror...some of you have become bigots, because someone doesn't conform to how you like people to act and look. Disgraceful.
