I for one hope they stay PL...if they do go Elite, I'll be going to a lot less meetings. Can't stand the elite league. I really can't see the point of going into the EL. It's less entertaining, costs more and dying on it's feet. At least the PL is exciting. Somerset v Swindon would be interesting...how would that work lol ;-)

Stopped going to watch the speedway after the main League fixtures were finished. Somerset won the league and Glasgow were second imo...end of. All these play offs, and so many guests recently, have really left a sour taste in my mouth. Not missing it one bit atm...Love watching the racing...but the formula really is a joke. If Sheffield win after being 20 points adrift...then it just goes to show how dire this sport has become. What newcomer or any future investor would take the sport seriously. No wonder crowds are down and clubs struggling. Such a shame.

Blimey...forgot all about the Gate...haha...brilliant. As a kid, it was such a treat to have a cheese and onion roll and bottle of coke...plus my programme signed by the opposition riders... the simple joys in life.

I'd love to see how the tapes work...intrigued. Plus it would look nice with some of those Britains Bikes and riders. Some of those bikes would look great lined up in the pits or for parade.

So were both the Sheffield riders...they were all gardening. The ref put the red light on and the two Sheffield riders were quickest to react, Tungate fractionally behind. Apart from Josh back on 15 who was ready, non of the other three were ready. It bemused me as I was stood between Josh and the start line.

Cracking meeting...thought Sheffield were going to spring a surprise early on. What the hell was heat 15 all about? Ridiculous decision by the referee to exclude Tungate. All three of them were gardening at the gate, Tungate probably the last of the 3 to get settled though. When the ref put the red light on for 2 mins up, all three were still gardening, both Sheffield riders saw the red light come on and moved to the tapes...Tungate didn't see it as quick and was probably a second behind them. Very pedantic by the ref imo. Thouht Tungate was gonna rip the stat marshals head off after heat 15...very unhappy bunny. Sheffield put up a really strong performance...surprised they aren't higher up the league.

What a nightmare for the lad... I've never asked a rider about Insurance for bikes etc. Wonder how quick they pay up for such circumstances?

Would love SL to get involved, but would not be interested in going into the EL. It's only 'Elite' by name, not by nature. Plus it's boring...only 8 teams...same old riders. Hopefully if Speedway shakes itself up next season, we may get a better league system for all.

Sadly that say's more about people in society today...Everything has to be instant...wham bam thank you maaam. The fact that speedway fans actually believe they are champions even if they didn't win the league over the whole season...what sort of thinking is that...most bizarre. You only have to look at Bristol Rugby winning the league for so many years, then losing the play offs and missing out on promotion...what a joke that was. Similar mentality...reward for doing partly well. As for your last sentence...going by this forum, speedway fans just like complaining full stop. ;-)

I've always thought it would be a good idea to have the 'play off' League Cup...instead of a play off final to determine the league winners. As it stood from today...Somerset would be League Champions. At the end of all the league fixtures, you have the top 6 teams go into a 'play off League Cup' final. So that it's not devalued, you would have to find a way of making it worth winning. Say for example...the winners of the 'Play off League Cup' get to have an extra points average allowed when finalising their team for the following season...or something along those lines.

This is because what irritates us most in other people is *usually* what we dislike about our own behaviour. Same people...making the same type of comments on many threads. They like to talk about others constantly...either riders or other forum members. Constantly...it's a reflection of themselves. It's scientifically proven...these few but very vocal forum members have some serious social issues. Riders laugh in the face of such people....they don't represent the 'normal' fan. They mean nothing to them or society in general. To have so many views and spend so much time on a forum with 1000's of posts, only goes to prove they have no real life. Normal people don't have that much time to care about such trivia.
