  1. Totally agree thought there was some great racing and pleasing to see riders in full throttle, controlled racing and not fighting ruts, then being thrown of line. Passing was excuted perfectly and was down to rider skill and riding, not mistakes from ruts
  2. Until he came up against Rico But he is a special talent I love watching Gollob he is just so amazing, I've never forgot that swoop on Jimmy Nilsen to win his home GP a few years back absolutely brilliant, just a shame that many will remember him more for that Boyce punch
  3. Having just watched it I reckon Rickardsson was lucky to stay in, no question the ref bottled it
  4. Sorry not this year, don't like the new format, going to British GP at Donny instead
  5. I can add to that I have cancelled my Twin Room at The Innkeepers Lodge Cardiff for the 10th and 11th June for anyone still looking for accomodation.
  6. When they trialed 6 laps in 1999, there were many near misses when riders slowed at the end of 4 laps thinking the race was over, most notably Havvy at Poole slowing at the end of the fourth lap and Tony Rickardsson ploughing straight into him. There are to many format changes in place why do we need another?
  7. Don't know if anyone has heard of him but this week in MCN a full page of Anthony Barlow in the Xtreme International Ice Racing. It's on page 45 for an interview with him.
  8. This may be of some interest to some of you but the Eastern Daily Press are running an article about your memories of the Firs. They also have an article on http://www.edp24.co.uk/Content/HiddenNorfo.../041030Firs.asp Also Who was your favourite Norwich Star? What great moments from the Firs’ glory days do you recall? If you’ve got a special memory of speedway at the Firs, drop a line to: Steve Snelling at EDP Sunday, Prospect House, Rouen Road, Norwich, NR1 1RE, or email him on steve.snelling@archant.co.uk
  9. I remember a few years back in the speedway star Ole Olsen was all for a diamond shaped track where the bends actually had a sharper apex meaning a rider could either: A, go inside but would drift out on the exit or B Go in wide making a sharper turn. Olsen seemed to think this would make for better racing? This track seemed to be heading that way with to me it looked well weird corners but it was a terrible track and not fitting of a world championship finale
  10. or would they decide on the race they met in who came out on top? I have to say i liked the current format but often found the pre-main event rather tedious, so maybe seeing 16 top riders slug it out 5 times is more entertaining. It will certainly make every race more worthwhile with meeting points counting as World Championship points which is a good move
  11. Course you can't Hamill is one above him having been Individual World Champion
  12. Agree totally whacko a sad day tomorrow Jason 'Whats in it for me' Crump world champ, the flag is already at half mast
  13. An Excellent article thanks for sharing it Steve
  14. When I watched it on TV I never noticed him roll off the throttle and was just gutted at GB losing, it was not until TV replays and Tatum stating it that you saw Hans look then clearly shut the throttle. Unfortunately on the repeat show Sky neglected to show the interviews but Keith Huewen and Louis looked pretty p*ssed off. I do feel there is an over reaction to what has happened with some of the postings and judging by comments on TV tonight Hans has done himself no favours by not showing up at Eastbourne, with Millard gleely quoting all the meetings he will ride in made him look as Tv's new no1 villain I hope this whole issue is soon forgotten and we can all move on as Nicholls said 'Its all done with now' but I do feel that it won't be...........
  15. I loved this blokes style and attitude, despite Poland being out of the chase for the title Kolodziej and him really battled for every point. The heat with havvy was imo speedway at it's very best and Rempala has a very bright future
  16. I've finally watched all 4 meetings after my hols and can only add what fantastic work the Sky Sports team did. It came across as brilliant drama, entertainment and I was literally on the edge of my seat with the Havvy and Rempala heat. One thing I noticed on Monday Ermolenko with his highlights and goatee made him look like Nicki Pedersen, did someone tell him as by Tuesday the goatee was gone
  17. and getting back on topic The advert is being well plugged in every speedway break, we'd all moan if there wasn't anything on and it does come across as a carnival. I personally would love to see SWC run the same week as Cardiff GP with the SGP on the Saturday and the SWC final on the sunday what a weekend it would be Not sure my wallet would cope though PS Yep I love Poole to great place!
  18. On here YES Thou shal not gossip did you not know that As for Rickardsson, certainly looking rather beat up in the last 2 Gp's and I do wonder if this will be his final year in speedway He is still a class apart and has set the standards for everyone to follow but I think everyone followed, caught up and have now overtaken him (watch him win the next gp now lol)
  19. Looks like this will be Crumpy's year (that will please the little un) and fair play to the guy for holding his nerve in the re-run. Well done Crumpy!
  20. Nice to see a rider try to clear the track after that get off, especially in the A final with a rider he had a run in earlier leading. Well done (Would crump have done the same? )
  21. Interesting to note there are 2 threads 1. Nicki spits his dummy out and 2. Well done Nicki. One thread has 12 pages the other 3 Just proves that most people on here only see the bad in one person shame on you As for the incident well Crumpy fell off far to easily, I watched Sete Gibernau bash the back of Valentino Rossi earlier in the day at 100mph yet he still stayed on after wrecking his front fairing, maybe we should introduce marshalls with waved yellow flags meaning no passing whilst the rider is on the track You'd see them get up quicker then Crumpy looks like he has been watching Rune Holta to much, there are far to many riders now lying on the track to get races stopped and Tony Steele fell for it hook line and sinker. Yes I can understand Nicki's reaction I mean Crumpys never thrown a wobbler or Gollob. We got great TV and it livened up a GP that needed that spark.
  22. On the first second bend they just seemed to ride round the outside and not drag it down, but a lot of beer did have a lot to do with it as well Yep Ryan was a bit gutted at Crumpy not winning but he got through 2 airhorn cannisters so was happy Don't think the people in front were though
  23. I thought the track was pretty good best one yet for cardiff........... but when grading why did the tractors just keep going round the outside and not dragging the dirt down? All they did was turn it over and add water, perhaps they could get Hans and Nicki to drive them as they know how to use all the track
