  1. It was a “full win” from Ipswich’ perspective the full three points bagged.
  2. And finally, warned in heat 12. Better late than never!!
  3. Good on him. Many knew he wouldn’t blame Rew. AceBellend is an unfortunate exception but as soon as it happened I think we all pretty much knew it would be him coming on here and knew exactly which direction he would be sending it
  4. “Fitness wise we are sweating on a few riders and even if they are fit to ride, we are going to be far from 100% in that area”. Not very! Muscle injuries for Ellis and Jenkins and King nowhere near fit. Hand swells and causes pain after every ride and he still has a lack of movement. Just seems to be ongoing issues that never seems to end. Remarkable effort to be clear at the top all things considered.
  5. Tellboy is correct. Lambert for Woffinden still put you over the 40 point limit so it’ll just be a straight swap, and any other changes will have to be the same, or lower than the average of the rider they’re replacing.
  6. Both Ellis and Jenkins undergoing treatment for muscle injuries and apparently not guaranteed to be ready for Monday. King also nowhere near fully fit according to Hawkins.
  7. “Should a team require a Rising Star guest next season, the eligible riders will again be those of GB nationality who are aged 23 or under (on January 1, 2024) and who have not achieved a final Premiership average in excess of 4.00, and who are not declared in a Premiership line-up elsewhere”. Leicester have to use an unattached rising star from the list. https://britishspeedway.co.uk/sports-insure-premiership/premiership-rising-stars-criteria/
  8. Extremely harsh. You can see the dry and grippy lines on a damp track. Bomber does what bomber does, goes where nobody else does and finds the speed where others take the “safe” route. Carried far too much speed for Lampart who knows he was done.
  9. Zach Cook. Not right now because he won’t fit. But any replacement for Doyle will be a maximum of 8.00. That leaves enough points to re-declare the 1-7 by replacing Jenkins with Zach Cook. Why would you not make that move? The only reason you wouldn’t, is if you actively trying NOT to win the league..
  10. Fair points and totally understand where you’re all coming from, but Siggy also makes a good point. It’s ok for those that don’t attend away meetings but there’s little incentive for those that do, to travel long distances to go and watch that side put out at Oxford tomorrow which in all likelihood will get beaten. Is it? He’s been woeful and I’m afraid the stats back it up. No point skirting around that issue. He’s lucky to still be in the team but that’s what Ipswich do. Leicester dumped Kemp when he was averaging far better than Jenkins this year. He’s a lucky boy.
  11. Jenkins has a GSA over 11 meetings this year of 2.84. Abysmal and he could have no complaints if he got the chop. He’s currently at 7 in the team, but he’s not the rising star, Thompson is. The fact Ipswich are doing so well and Thompson has been excellent, has took the focus off his poor season and bailed him out. The Ipswich team here looks poor, comfortable home win for me. Louis needs to pull his finger out and get a replacement in at 1. You can’t go R/R for someone like Jason Doyle and expect to win meetings especially on the road.
  12. Just edited my post above with something similar.
  13. I personally think it’s one of the more sensible rules. There’s naturally going to be a bigger disparity between rising stars on the list that nobody picked and deemed good enough, to a rising star that has graduated out of a reserve berth and in to the main body of the team (hence the facility), then there is between an unpicked rising star and one that hasn’t been as successful and remains in the reserve berths (hence no facility). Actually now I’ve thought this through a bit more, it should be done by reaching a certain average rather than which place in the team you’re at. All teams are built different, some top heavy some strength in depth. You could have a scenario where 2 rising stars are both averaging 5.00, but one is in the top 5 of a team and gets granted a facility, while the other who is in a strength in depth side, remains in a reserve berth and their club is forced to use an unattached rising star so it does have its flaws.
  14. Clearly it’s a reward for progression and earning yourself a place in the main body of the team, which is why the scheme is there in the first place. It’s not a special rule just for Ipswich and nobody else. If any of the others show the same progression and move out of the reserve berths then they’ll also be granted the same facility. The rules are for all clubs, not just one.
  15. He’s improved more than any other rising star, and has progressed through to the main body. That’s Ipswich’ gain for picking him, and staying with him again this season. Why should Ipswich then be punished when he’s missing by having to replace him by Hodder or another clearly inferior rising star who will undoubtedly score 0,0,0? Why is it wrong to use R/R for him like you can any other member of the top 5? Seems totally fair to me.
  16. I don’t think part of Sam’s “pre planned programme” involved him going over to tell Pawlicki before the meeting that he planned on replacing him in heat 14 with Leon Flint. He certainly also didn’t pre plan to have Cook touching the tapes and using Pawlicki in heat 3. Much has been said about the team spirit in the Ipswich camp and how much of a close group they are. I don’t think Ipswich would touch Lambert with a barge pole personally. He doesn’t fit what they have there.
  17. Not really, it’s a bit of a unique situation. Injuries in Speedway can happen anywhere but it’s very rare for one team to be missing 4 members at the same time. The Visa situation for Freddie seems out of the clubs control.
  18. Clueless from you if you’re even asking that question.
  19. Think some who are pointing the finger seem to forget Pawlicki had three on the spin prior to 14.
  20. R/R for Doyle, Hodder in for Thompson who gets his expected 3 duck eggs, and guest Nicholls scores 4 with two exclusions, and Ipswich STILL win. LOL
  21. I’m hearing Thompson is a doubt with illness also and Ipswich have another rider on standby. Much has been made of meetings being postponed unnecessarily this season but I think this is a case of a meeting that is justified in being postponed. It’s starting to look a bit farcical.
  22. Well depleted and under strength are completely different things. “Understrength” is also completely deceptive in this case because Doyle is missing. Looking at those two line ups, you’d be a brave mad to predict an away win here.
