  1. oooh hard man! LOL I have zero interest where you'll be at 9.00 pm, absolutely Zero.
  2. This doesn't make sense in context to the previous posts. Has someone deleted their post?
  3. Yes got to admit I've never had fish without the skin from a fish shop either.
  4. How cold was that! I know the cold contributed, but I couldn't make up my mind whether the crowd was par for the course these days, or whether it was really poor? Does having the stand all the way across the back straight now give it the illusion that there is less people in the stadium then there actually are? And when did they start not opening the Garden Bar? Been standing there and nipping in for my pint for more years than I care to remember Good win, the pass by Worrall in heat 13 was superb. Not many will catch and pass Kennett this year in the PL when he gets out in front. Ellis looked superb, and very confident. Probably taking confidence from a good showing from Lakeside the night before? I think he'll up his average in a similar way that Heeps did last year. I'd heard that Tungate was awesome against very good company in Morten's testimonial, so I was disappointed with his showing as he looked a bit pants to be honest. Heeps looked on the pace, but like Gino struggled to get out of the traps. Anyone know just how much he's still struggling with his hand? Definitely looks like it's affecting him sadly.
  5. I was going to wait until Good Friday for my first meeting but decided to go to this one Thursday. Got a feeling we might come a cropper here but we'll see. Much will depend on Heeps' fitness.
  6. Matousek. Always worth a visit when Roman was in town!
  7. I agree, and I think he may well struggle to hold that starting average. To put it in perspective, Heeps and Ellis in their first PL season's, averaged 4.40 and 4.25 respectively and they are both tipped for very big futures. It's not going to be easy for Gino riding tracks here he's never seen let alone ridden so I hope the supporters don't have unrealistic expectations and give the lad plenty of time. He's clearly a talented rider and I'm sure he'll be a great asset to the club long term.
  8. I'm very happy with the team too, in fact, I wouldn't swap it with any other named so far. Agree Baldy, Hawkins sub 4 is a bargain at reserve. Never pulled up trees and been a top heatleader, but always been a solid 5-6 point middle order rider so will be a trump card at reserve as will Ellis. We normally have a solid looking side with one rider thrown in that looks a bit suspect. We don't have that suspect rider this year we look very solid all the way through.
  9. Nah, pretty mellow on here these days since aljack got kicked orf
  10. Bit of risk for sure as nobody really knows how he'll handle the PL, but an exciting risk to take IMO. Definitely has something about him. Had never seen Foxhall before but did well in the Star Of Anglia earlier in the season that probably secured his signature. Remember him flying past Heeps from the back in one race which isn't easy to do around Ipswich. Looking forward to watching him. Also less of a risk on a 5,00 than a 7.00, obviously.
  11. If that is what he's implying then I think he's wrong. Jensen isn't in the 1-7 that I've heard is being announced tomorrow.. Just done the sums, and the team is slightly over the points limit, so I assume Worrall must have gotten the reduction.
  12. http://www.ipswichwitches.co/index.php/news-centre/754-witches-announce-first-signing-for-next-year
  13. No Leigh is a bit of a shocker. Lanham and Ipswich never seemed a good fit in the past for whatever reason but he seemed to settle down quite nicely the last couple of seasons. I've absolutely no doubt he'll come back with his new team and be a right pain in the bum as he always has in the past!
  14. Barker has been riding PL because he doesn't ride abroad and there wasn't enough EL meetings to keep him happy financially. Now the fixture list at EL has been extended, maybe that will satisfy him enough to not do the PL as well but who knows. My money would be on him doing both again, and more than likely back at Plymouth in the PL.
  15. I think plenty would, although there is a general acceptance that he won't be back which is why he isn't figuring in many potential line ups. TBH I was disappointed with Barker this season I was expecting much more. On Heeps, the thing that impressed me most with him this season was his improvement in his gating. In his first season it was woeful and reminded me of Marcin Rempala's trapping. But this year he's been generally swift from the gate which has helped his scoring no end. Some turnaround.
  16. Got to admit It does look a bit of a tired effort. I fully appreciate an earlier post saying these days it must be tricky getting riders to do it, but even a couple of talented young newcomers with an eye on next year, would have captured the imagination a little more. I have always loved the 16 lapper ever since I was a nipper in the 80's, and after another season where my interest has again waned, and not attended many meetings, I had this one down as one meeting I was going to attend. But alas I'll now be spending the money on a nice meal out with the Mrs instead, and I'll enjoy that more. I'd probably never had said that a couple of years ago. (Don't tell her I said that Badge )
  17. Think I've been to 3, maybe 4 meetings at Foxhall this year. Return to the top flight and I'll be first in line for a season ticket.
  18. I can see some logic in the team order changes mentioned, but the term "if it ain't broke don't fix it" springs to mind for me. We're doing very nicely at the moment and I think I'd personally leave well alone.
  19. Terrific performance from Heeps well done lad. Great to see a young Ipswich asset progressing nicely.
  20. Well that was a bit pants Ipswich! I think this meetings shows more about how inconsistent we are as much as anything else. Yes Workington are a good side, but is Workington away THAT much tougher than Scunthorpe away? And yet we draw at Scunthorpe and get hammered by more than 30 at Worky. Frustrating.
  21. 4+2. Not all that relevant really it's a different day and different meeting. But something similar will do. I like Hawkins he's a trier and I'm sure he'll contribute decent steady points.
  22. Hawkins scored paid 6 a couple of seasons ago when guesting for us so something similar will be a big help. The team looks solid with Lanham, Risager and Tungate all capable of chipping in with 6 or 7 to go with double figures from Barker. If Hawkins can chip in with a few then I'm confident Heeps and Ellis can outscore their counterparts to give us a good chance of progressing. Having said that, Workington can blow anyone away around their place so it will be very tough. Think it will be very tight over the two legs.
