As has been said, 1st meets 4th, second v third. (Unless commercial reasons come in to play đ). Nobody picks anybody anymore. Pretty sure weâll finish top. Can afford defeats at Sheffield and Leicester and still finish top by winning our remaining home fixtures. But as we know, that counts for nothing. Barring an 18/20 point defeat at Leicester in our upcoming fixture, weâd have taken the aggregate bonus in both rounds of fixtures against them this year. But again, that counts for nothing and the only two legged affair that counts is next month in the play offs. If we can get there injury free, I remain confident weâll see the job through.

TBF they werenât entirely sure when Jenkins was going to return and they gave Edwards a 28 day deal. Theyâre not the sort to go back on that so Edwards (rightly IMO) will get the full 28 days.

Stop taking the bait.

Ipswich Witches vs Oxford Spires Thursday 7th August
Aries replied to ShanoXtra's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
âIt wasnât our best performance of the year, far from it, and it felt a bit of a slog at times, but we were experimenting with track conditions and overall, it didnât work. We were battling with that and Oxford came and fought hard, and they will be happy with the two young lads, Luke and Mitch, I thought they put in really creditable performances and that is pleasing for them. It was one of those nights where we had to battle but we got another three points on the board, and we move on and come back for a tougher test next week. âWe have had a few different conditions at Ipswich, and we are just trying to find out what is best for everyone and what everyone is happy with. It is a good time to do it but overall, it wasnât brilliant and didnât provide great racing and that is one thing we want to do. We will learn from it and have another crack at it next week and see if we can get the balance to get everything correct. Fair assessment from Hawkins there. -

Absolutely does and it really suits his style. The higher banking work done during the winter especially around bends 3 and 4, has become more and more evident as the season has gone on. Ellis has made up huge ground on those in front of him by taking that outside route. -
All a bit irrelevant against Belle Vue really. The name of the game here was just to make a decent fist of it because the aggregate bonus would be bagged at Foxhall. In the plays offs if the two clubs meet at any stage, Iâm confident of beating Belle Vue over two legs if we stay injury free. Leicester still the bigger danger currently but have they peaked a bit early?

Ah Sheffield doing the old Hokey Cokey just before the cut off eh. As sure as night follows day.

Not convinced youâll see rising stars next year personally.

I enjoyed the meeting too. Thought it was a decent watch. Fricke the best rider in the league currently. Really like him too seems like a decent down to earth fella so good for him. Still if some got their way, heâs another theyâd happily punt out of British Speedway to get one league speedway..đ

Might be, but doubtful at the moment. As Hawkins says in the preview above, since the injury wobble we havenât got close to getting back to our early season form yet when we were blitzing everyone out of sight at Foxhall. Hopefully that comes back by play off time!

Is It Finally Time For One League?
Aries replied to TheSmiler's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Ok, letâs get rid of the quality we do have, and let everybody have mediocre teams and equally sh!t attendances for the sake of equality and âcredibilityâ. Terrific strategy. Ban the GP stars, problems solved! -

And yet the biggest cheer of the season apparently was when your GP star Fricke came from 15 metres to win on the line in spectacular fashion. Iâm sorry but you ainât getting that kind of star quality from the Thompsonâs or even Ryan Douglas. How people are happy to see these riders depart is beyond me. -
Yes is the simple answer. Dan left enough room for a double decker bus and Kerr went through it. There were several people up in the box and every single one of us knew that it was over as soon as Dan hit the deck and that he was getting excluded. There really is no argument to be had here. The only slight doubt was that the referee might be a âHomerâ and wrongfully exclude Kerr.

Itâs YOU who has the rose tinted glasses on Buttons. Not only was there no contact, it wasnât even close! I probably had the best view in the house for this incident. Up in the VIP box between first and second bend thanks to Arch. Fact is, Dan passed Kerr up the inside going up the back straight. That then took him wide around bends three and four. Kerr then came steaming down the inside of Dan down the home straight, Dan saw him coming through, panicked and laid it down. I hope this heat gets replayed via rerun so everyone can see. If Iâve got it wrong, Iâll hold my hands up. Pretty sure I havenât though.
