  1. Think this one will be a tad too soon. On the preview for last nights Lynn meeting, Hawkins said Dan was a couple of weeks away. Wouldn’t be a bit surprised with another Leicester win here. We don’t look the same outfit without Doyle’s leadership (the team seemed to fall apart after his withdrawal last night) and getting guest reserves in who are scoring one or two points instead of Dan’s double figures is killing us at the moment. Brennan and Ellis struggling is compounding the issue although they’re both much better at home.
  2. Sounds exactly the same as we saw at the GP’s. Still sharp as ever getting out of the gate, but after a lap or two in obvious discomfort and stuck in reverse. That’s purely a fitness issue. He’s had two extended breaks now to let it settle and he still isn’t fit. I fear for him at the moment I’ve got to be honest.
  3. Not compared to last season where he was riding almost daily and it seemed to suit him! He uploads his weekly schedule on his twitter feed and there’s been many weeks where he’s only had one meeting. In theory he should be on an upward trajectory this season because he’s riding as a second string as opposed to a heat leader berth at 1 or 5 like at Birmingham last year, but if anything he’s gone in the opposite direction! Still plenty of time though to turn that all around.
  4. Wouldn’t have made any difference here. Too many Ipswich riders underperforming at the moment and it’s losing Dan Thompson that has been the biggest killer. Well deserved win for Lynn, a reserve scoring paid 20 will always see a side a victory. Kvech riding superbly at the moment.
  5. We’re definitely undercooked atm and Thompson missing has been a huge blow, but Brennan has been a disappointment so far it has to be said. I wonder if he’s one of those riders that prefer to be riding all the time? He’s dropped the championship and now has big gaps in his calendar. A lot of people were saying he took on too much last year, but he seemed to revel in it whereas this year he seems to be struggling with the inactivity.
  6. If Thompson was riding instead of Mountain I think you’d be right, but Kvech will fill his boots again so on that basis it’ll be close I think.
  7. Jenkins is carrying an injury and isn’t riding particularly well at the moment so he has every chance of doing well I think. Superheat?
  8. So Klindt and three from Kvech then. That guarantees a seven ride evening for Kvech which was likely anyway. That does mean though that Jody Scott will have to take his four programmed rides, and no Kvech in heat 15.
  9. What are the rules on a facility for a rider “withholding his services”? Is it a guest up to 75% of his average or is that rule for something else? I can’t remember.
  10. Think this will be a repeat of the Cup meeting. Narrow home win due to the reserve situation at both clubs. Need more from Ellis this time though. Lynn is one his better away tracks but he was really poor a few weeks ago. If he can score his usual steady points around here then who knows. The bonus point should be a formality though with Ipswich defending a 16 point lead.
  11. Absolutely knew you’d be the first to reply here. Took you all of two minutes.
  12. Whether you’re for or against the superheat there’s little doubt it generates a good atmosphere. A real good entertaining Speedway meeting.
  13. To ride that well and come away with nothing to show for it must be a sickener. Both meetings with identical scores, but Ipswich then having home advantage in the superheat for the aggregate bonus point doesn’t seem fair does it.
  14. Very enjoyable meeting. Great racing with the majority of the passing coming from the Sheffield boys!
  15. Dan Thompson given a wild card for the SGP2 under 21 world championship. First round begins July 4th..
  16. Very LITTLE choice to be fair. It was Chris Louis’ own words when dropping Mountain from the Witches team a few years ago. His away form was fine, he just couldn’t get to get grips with Foxhall and it was that reason he was dropped. Perhaps they just think he can’t do a lot worse than what Hume amd Lambert have produced? May as well give him a go. He’s getting a couple of meetings as well so let’s see what he can do. Hopefully he does reasonably well.
  17. Haven’t looked for a few weeks but he was second behind Doyle a few weeks ago.
  18. 48-42 will do me tbh as that’ll take the bonus point.
  19. Dan’s second in our Averages this season and been scoring double figures in a lot of meetings. When you replace that with someone who’s only scoring a couple of points, that results in a huge swing in the overall score. His absence can’t be understated.
  20. Totally agree losing Dan has been a killer and I also share your concerns on his form when he returns. Hand/wrist injuries can be extremely troublesome for Speedway riders. We can only hope he comes back 100% fit and picks up exactly where he left off.
  21. I find that the case at the tracks as well. Generally a bunch of miserable old sods 😜
  22. Didn’t have the best meeting at Foxhall a couple of weeks ago but generally he’s very good here. I personally still think rider replacement is the stronger way to go at home. I know people will point to the home defeat against Leicester while using it and only gaining five points from the facility, but that was an anomaly for me. One point between two rider replacement rides between Emil and Brennan at Foxhall is extremely rare. You only have to look at the Foxhall averages of Emil, Brennan, King and Ellis to see the strength there. Away from home is a different kettle of fish. I’d look for guests every time.
  23. This sport attracts the most miserable b@stards ever I swear to god 🙄
