  1. Just to confirm that Henry was a guest today, which is allowed since he is still part of Plymouth's 1-7.
  2. It always says expected, Mr Troll! For the simple reason some of those riders are in action tonight. Something could always happen (hopefully it won't).
  3. You're entitled to your opinion, but likewise we're entitled to express our opinion on your opinion, especially when it is factually incorrect (such as regarding the number of ambulances in attendance each week at the Eddie Wright Raceway).
  4. Medical cover that wasn't available. Do you ever watch the news and are you aware of the staffing crisis within the NHS, or do you spend 100% of your time stirring up trouble on here? No wonder the Leicester promotion banned you from their forum.
  5. Yeah, there were problems with the Leicester track earlier in the season. And the week directly after the blade was brought in, there were problems with large lumps of clay being thrown at the riders who didn't gate. But, fair play, to Leicester, because that was the best racing I've seen at the track last night, so that work with the blade, after they got Andy Meredith in, has ultimately paid off. Personally, I'm now much more likely to pop along later in the season when I've got a spare Saturday or two.
  6. Cracking speedway meeting that - well done Leicester on getting the track right. Utterly different track from three weeks ago, when it was dire for Leicester v Oxford.
  7. Maybe, at this time, thoughts should be with Joe. Meanwhile, just to confirm that the Scunthorpe promotion will allow those with stamped re-admission tickets from tonight full re-entry (without additional payment) for a future Scorpions meeting at the EWR this season using their tickets. This is a goodwill gesture by the club above and beyond the speedway regulations. Earlier in this season, another club took another route after a meeting was called off after two heats.
  8. On the raised first bend viewing, it was noticeable that Ward drifted wide after lifting, and caused the other two to clash. The report on the Leicester website confirms that it was: "an ugly collision involving the three remaining riders on the second bend, resulting in Josh Warren and the Cubs’ Vinnie Foord going heavily into the fence." I was struggling to see how Ward had not been excluded for it, along with everyone else around me, and then Ward (who IMO should not still have been in the race) tried a daft last bend lunge up the inside of Warren in the second re-run and put Warren out of the rest of the meeting. Of course, these are young lads and nothing was on purpose, but it was very hard not to feel sympathy for Mildenhall, who lost because a key rider (their better reserve) was taken out of the meeting by a Leicester rider, who shouldn't have even been in the race at that point!
  9. Watched from the first bend, where you've above the action and have a good view. Ward clearly lifted out of the second bend, badly lost control, and caused Warren and Foord to fall. He was the sole cause of the stoppage - yet it was somehow called as "an unsatisfactory start". As I said I was there as a neutral, but felt for Mildenhall, when the incident that really cost them tonight (the withdrawal of Warren) was caused by a rider who shouldn't even been in the race at that point. Very perplexed spectators on the terraces.
  10. Meeting decided when Ward twice knocked off Warren in Heat 2 - the second time, causing an injury that forced Warren to withdraw from the meeting. Not sure how it can be an unsatisfactory start when one rider loses control coming out of the second bend and causes the other two to fall. Had the ref made the correct decision there, then Ward wouldn't have been in a position to again upend Warren in the second re-run of the race. Mildenhall very unlucky tonight. Decent enough meeting - quite enjoyed it as a neutral, even with the bizarre refereeing.
  11. They do. With Scunny if it's called going to be called off, it depends slightly where the away fans/riders are coming from. For instance, for Sheffield, Rob Godfrey knew he didn't need to make a decision by around 2.30pm-3pm, whereas if it is Glasgow, Edinburgh or Plymouth, it will be first thing. But if anyone checks before setting off, they will find the answer before they leave. With Newcastle yesterday, it was off a good 2/3 hours before anyone needs to leave Newcastle to get to Scunny.
  12. This forum is amazing at times. Scunny make the right decision in plenty of time to prevent people making a wasted journey, publicise it well... and yet people still find something to complain about. The meeting was called off just before lunchtime - at around 11.45am. By noon, the news of the call off was on social media, the club website and the BSPL website. Scunthorpe make early decisions to avoid having to make late decisions and waste everyone's time. And it works. I live over three hours away and yet I hardly ever end up at Scunthorpe for a rained off meeting. You can trust Scunny, because by lunchtime, they'll decide they are going ahead and they then try their absolute hardest to go ahead and complete the meeting - Scunny v Poole was an example of this.
  13. Indeed. Both social media and the club website updated at midday, well before anyone needed to set off.
  14. Yeah, just a misunderstanding. Now told Rob G where the incorrect information stemmed from, so he can also make sure there's no further misunderstanding tomorrow.
  15. No it wasn't! The riders were concerned about what they were faced with if they were behind. Scott Nicholls isn't a moaner. When he calls out the track, I think there's a good reason to listen to him. It's good that Leicester have called in Andy Meredith, but they should have done that years ago.
  16. Awful meeting. The blade used during the week had cut into the clay base. It wasn't a problem for those out front, but those behind were bombarded with huge lumps of clay, hence the riders being so strung out. More tractors than bikes, with a huge gap after Heat 4.
  17. Home track advantage? We're only ridden at home once. Looking forward to hopefully seeing Oxford winning, despite our complete lack home track advantage. See you tonight mate!
  18. That's a shame. With Tai there, I think they would have got maybe over 1000 people to stream it and it could have brought over 10 grand into the kitty. But I wasn't going to do a four-hour drive on a Monday night.
  19. Final two signings for 2022: http://scunthorpe-speedway.com/?p=13867
  20. To be fair to the 1984 Aces, they only dropped nine league points (three defeats and three draws) - but the problem was Ipswich only dropped eight! Belle Vue's away form was pretty exceptional - 9 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats in the BL. Plus a 100% home record. Most seasons that would have seen them walk the league. A season of two incredible sides!
  21. It's 2021. Speedway Forums are largely redundant. Plenty of interest on social media.
  22. No Jan O Pedersen during the 1980s or 1990s? World Champion in 1991, World No 2 in 1986 and World 3 in 1988. Rode in the World Pairs Final twice... and won it twice! Rode in the World Team Cup Final four times... and won it four times! Throw in a BLRC (1988) and various honours with Cradley Heath and surely he should be in there for both decades.
  23. No, he wasn't a number, he was a free man.
