Ipswich Vs Edinburgh Pl Poq 1st Leg Thurs 22nd Sep

Edinburgh don't meet Glasgow in the semis should they get through. They face Somerset. Final to me looks like Somerset vs Glasgow or Newcastle. Don't think the other three stand much of a chance. All the best Rob -

Nicki Pedersen Injured.

So you say you can't comment, but then come out with a comment anyway. And furthermore it seems to be a comment that says far more about you than either Ward or Pedersen. All the best Rob -
I think it was a genuine moment of confusion - it's certainly not the first time a team manager has named an illegible rider for Heat 15 - and quite often the referee doesn't spot it either! The only delaying part came in naming Kerr, knowing he would be excluded, to give Bates time to get his bikes unpacked! It seems daft to me that Wallner (3+1) and Douglas (2) would have been eligible for Heat 15 and yet Palm Toft (6+1) is not. The rule is a bit silly. All the best Rob

Live updates (I assume that was Shads!!) were confused as well, which is why I checked with Rob G when I spoke to him. He seems he was only notified that MPT was not eligible with the clock already ticking down, and with no riders ready to go out (riders tend to start packing away once their night is over!!). Of course, it's the Clerk Of The Course in control down the pits, so it's quite possible that the two minutes ran out before the conversation between the COTC and the ref, to notify the ref that Lewis was the named rider. In any case, as the programme indicates, any confusion was sorted out, and Josh Bates was able to take his place as the reserve for the excluded Lewis Kerr. It's a shame that this wasn't announced on the night. All the best Rob

After MPT was blocked, Lewis Kerr was nominated by Scunthorpe and excluded for two minutes, since the clock was counting down and there was no chance of him getting out there in time. There was then a fresh two minutes, with Josh Bates taking a reserve ride in place of Lewis. The rules are a bit daft if you ask me. A nominated race should be just that. About time the rules restricting the use of riders in Heat 15 were thrown in the bin. As already mentioned, the 8-day-rule regarding guests applies only to guest appearances i.e. a rider cannot guest at the same track within 8 days. Bates' Sheffield appearance is immaterial. The rule was amended a few years ago. All the best Rob

Wildcards 2017.....
lucifer sam replied to Panthers89's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
As long as the top eight remains the same: 1. Nicki P (no brainer) 2. NKI (another certainty, surely) 3. Emil (fingers crossed!!) 4. G Laguta if he'll do it. Jarek Hampel if he won't. Of course, what would put a different complexion on matters would be if Kildemand woke up and performed in the final three GPs. All the best Rob -
Plymouth V Scunthorpe Pl 17/09/16
lucifer sam replied to a topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It counts towards the final league table. It simply doesn't count towards play-off qualification, which is not a factor when it comes to either Scunny or Plymouth. Albert, I think we're going for a win at Rye, not a point. All the best Rob -

Lewy, Scunny has almost become your second team now hasn't it? Glad to see Devils avoid the wooden spoon, as will Scorpions. Excellent point for Scorpions last night, given the problems in finding a guest for Wilko. Thanks to Richard Andrews for filling the gap... at one point, it was a blank space at No 6. Peterborough Panthers 2016

It looks like Tungate is racing at Lakeside tonight, at Workington tomorrow and in Pardubice on Sunday. I can't see why the Peterborough riders aren't able to Edinburgh tonight and Pardubice on Sunday. The only one riding before that is Holub, who is riding tomorrow. And he's a 3.00 man and easily replaced, even without a facility. All the best Rob -

He only qualifies when Edinburgh want to use him. He doesn't when it's anyone else. All the best Rob -
Edinburgh V Somerset 16th Sept
lucifer sam replied to idh's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
You mean like August 26th, when Bewley rode in the re-arranged Edinburgh v Glasgow KOC fixture, ahead of a Belle Vue Colts v Kent fixture. And not only that, but look at the NEG next to Mitchell Davey's name in the NL Green Sheets. To be honest, it didn't make a lot of difference to Scunny's season. It might mean our finishing position is 11th rather than 10th, but that's immaterial. But as a point of principle, it does rankle that Edinburgh could get away with tracking a team outside of the rules, and were allowed to keep the points only on a technicality. All the best Rob -
Peterborough Panthers 2016

I have to admit I'm mystified as to why Peterborough turned down a trip to Edinburgh tonight, especially given the guests that Somerset have found. The Panthers would have nothing to lose and everything to gain by riding tonight. All the best Rob -
