  1. No they could all be back in, UNLESS Emil is given a wildcard. e.g. if current standings were the same, it would be Nicki P, NKI, Lindback and Zagar. Personally I'd like to see at least one wildcard go to a rider currently outside the series, and I'd like that to go to Emil. All the best Rob
  2. Yes it does. It simply doesn't apply any more when rider is competing for his own team. But two guest appearances within 8 days at the same track would not be allowed. All the best Rob
  3. Just a quick question... but why wasn't this meeting staged on September 25, and avoided many of the guests. There was no rush to stage the Newcastle v Scunthorpe meeting the week before, which had already missed the cut-off date for the play-offs. It seems strange staging a Newcastle v Sheffield play-off meeting on the same night as a World U21 Round, given the make-up of the two teams. All the best Rob
  4. Yep, shock result, it looks like the reserved date for the semi-final at Sheffield is this coming Thursday. It will be interesting to see what Sheffield can do against Glasgow. All the best Rob
  5. Doesn't matter if the stadium is basic to begin with, simply that it's built and there's enough room to improve it as time goes by. Also important that there's room for a nice wide track - and it doesn't end up as another Leicester. All the best Rob
  6. Don't forget Max Grosskreutz. The form man in 1936, until he was injured. He lent his bike to Wilkinson for the final, and Bluey flew to a 15-point-maximum on it. But, as you say, these things have happened since speedway began. Unfortunate, but they happen. All the best Rob
  7. What are you talking about? Lindgren lifting was the cause of the accident - Harris was as innocent a passenger as Doyle. A racing accident, but one caused by Lindgren, not Bomber. Lindgren has been riding like a madman all year long. Take your blinkers off. And Bomber isn't going to get a wildcard for next year - we all realise that. But I'll miss him in the GPs - a 100% trier and a fair competitor. All the best Rob
  8. For a week or two more, and then empty. Although the weird looking trophy with a Spring sticking out of it. Did you win that the last time it was held? All the best Rob
  9. Congratulations to the Witches on their stunning against-all-odds aggregate victory against the mighty Monarchs. All the best Rob
  10. A bit of the reverse psychology… in reverse! It’s noticeable how the Monarchs faithful downplay their chances, even if it’s Redcar or Plymouth or someone pish at Armadale, and then act surprised and claim it was a “win against all odds”, when it turns out that your opponents haven’t got a chance around the trick track and get humped. So I’m downplaying Ipswich’s aggregate hopes, so when they indeed clinch that win on aggregate, I can claim it was a “historic win against all odds”. All the best Rob
  11. Monarchs are favourites, but Witches may hang on for a famous aggregate victory. I'm backing the under-dogs... come on Witches!! All the best Rob
  12. Because he wasn't guesting for Scunny, was he? It's only guesting two weeks on the trot that isn't allowed. Riding for your own team one week, followed by a guest appearance the following week, is allowed. It's been like this for several years. All the best Rob
  13. Good news BUT why was last week's double-header called off? Smoke and mirrors. All the best Rob
  14. It certainly makes Poole quite a bit weaker tonight. Wolves are now favourites in my book. Although are Coventry fans allowed to support Wolves? I'm sure you've broken a cardinal rule there, Jacques. All the best Rob
  15. RIP Wimbledon Speedway. Sadly, it had no chance once the football got involved, because that empty sport is controlled solely by money. All the best Rob
  16. Second leg is on the Sunday, not the Monday, so you'll have Worrall. All the best Rob
  17. As well as those already mentioned: Chris Louis' engine failure while well clear in the final of the 1996 PLRC at Bradford. Dave Perks losing his chain on the last bend of the 1984 NLRC at Peterborough and losing the run-off to Ian Barney as a consequence. Likewise, Kyle Hughes shedding a chain on the final bend of the 2009 NLRC at Rye House to gift the run-off to Craig Cook. All the best Rob
  18. Was just checking the official Glasgow website for team news - it says "Match On". Has it definitely been called off? EDIT: just seen the tweet saying it's off. All the best Rob
  19. Josh Auty is back. Rider replacement for Ryan - back problem after his Heat 15 crash at Sheffield and further fall at Plymouth. Josh Bates in for Wilko. Chris Widman for little Josh. Frtitz moves down to reserve. All the best Rob
  20. Ah bless! Success in speedway is winning at home and keeping the faithful happy and in that aspect, Scunny have been more successful this season than Peterborough. Scunthorpe are one of the smaller clubs in the Premier League and live within their means. Despite that, the club has punched above its weight, and won the Premier League title as recently as 2012. All under one promotion since Scunthorpe Speedway's re-opening in 2005, with a nice continuity of riders. On the other hand, twice EL champions Peterborough really should be a heavyweight in the Premier League. So when's the last time you won the PL, Mr BigCatDiary? Or any variety of league title? All the best Rob
  21. Don't forget MPT going back and scoring 15+1 against the side who were daft enough to drop him in the first place. The rock solid Peterborough side at the side of the season was their strongest this season, before they started tinkering. All the best Rob
