  1. Unless the rain dictates otherwise, why should Poole call the meeting off? Poole are a highly professional outfit. There's no way they'd go through a season not replacing a rider out since April (Edward Kennett). That Plymouth did not so has come back to bite them on the bum. Why is it Poole's fault that Plymouth have not replaced injured and suspended riders? The recent injuries are hard luck, but Kennett's been out since April and Barker since July. As for the demise of Plymouth Speedway, I doubt if an away loss on a night when only a handful of their diehards are present is going to make much difference. The call off of the home meeting against Glasgow - complete with the whole farcical situation of setting their own track on fire to the degree where the fire service was called - was far more damaging. Heaven knows what the non die-hards in the stadium were thinking that night. I hope that Plymouth are back next season.
  2. You're the one missing the bleeding obvious that the British weather forecast frequently changes from day-to-day, which is the point that everyone has been making and you're blissfully ignoring
  3. Rain the day before really shouldn't make a difference. It's only rain in the few hours before the meeting that counts. By this morning, the rain could have been forecasted to finish at lunchtime. By all means, call the meeting off at 9am this morning if the forecast hasn't changed. Calling it off the day before is ridiculous, though.
  4. Thunderstorms are the hardest type of weather to predict because they are so changeable. This morning, the forecast could have been totally different. It wasn't, but that's missing the point. Had the forecast changed this morning, Plymouth would have been left with massive egg on their face.. yet again. Why call off a meeting the day before - it doesn't make sense. No wonder Plymouth were the only team in the Championship not to finish their home fixtures by the play-off deadline despite the driest summer for nearly 30 years.
  5. While I don't think the meeting could have gone ahead tonight, why didn't Plymouth wait until this morning to make a decision? The forecast can change very quickly from day-to-day, especially when it's for storms. Early call-offs are sensible, but this one was being ridiculous, and just makes it look like Plymouth wanted the second leg at home. Plymouth have become a figure of fun this season: there's the daft situation with Eddie Kennett, setting fire to their own track, and now calling off meeting a whole day in advance. It's hard to take Plymouth Speedway very seriously.
  6. They're not on the same average. Jake is 6.593, Tero is 6.588. It worked in our favour at the same of the month - this time it doesn't.
  7. Lots of negativity on this thread which isn't matched by the atmosphere and support at Oxford this year. Come along to Oxford for a night of speedway and enjoy the experience that the fans are enjoying this season!
  8. Don't really seem them as first and second teams. One's called the Cheetahs and one the Chargers - but both are equally representing Oxford Speedway. If Cheetahs were at home and Chargers were away, again I'd pick the home meeting.
  9. Most of us chose the Oxford Chargers home meeting last night mate, that's where we were!
  10. Jordan Jenkins back in. Crang for Stoneman is now the only guest for Chargers.
  11. You should have come to Oxford mate. Cracking NL meeting last night!
  12. No excuse. No dust at Oxford at Tuesday - which was actually held ON the hottest day of the year, not the day after - until around Heat 13.
  13. Second Chargers crowd was in half term week and was nearer 1000 than 500. In any case, it was several hundred higher than the first Chargers meeting and the Oxford promotion were extremely pleased by the size of the crowd.
  14. Where did you get that from? The BYC wasn't covered, since the Scunny stream is done by a young and enthusiastic group of lads, some of which had college, etc, to go to today and it takes significant time for them to pack up the gear.
  15. Aaron Summers cannot guest for Jordan Palin - it doesn't fit. If Summers guests for Jake, then R/R would have been used for Jordan, and only Wright, Kennedy and Coles would be able to take the rides.
  16. That's not too unreasonable. At Oxford, it's free parking and a free shuttle bus.
  17. If Carlsberg did speedway meetings... Epic night of racing last night! What a meeting! Glasgow played their full part in proceedings, but so glad Oxford managed to win it at the end!
  18. Sneaky? It's advertised in advance. I think you'll find it's free to park at Oxford, with a free shuttle bus. Is if free parking at Glasgow? I hear someone say it's a fiver, but I can't believe it's that much.
  19. Typical BSF negativity. Great 2022 season so far, with most clubs doing good business. Thank goodness those on here are not reflective of those enjoying their speedway on the terraces.
  20. Why? He's ambitious and wanted to see how he would fare against Bowtell. Brilliant display from both reserves last night.
  21. Streams are almost exclusively bought by away fans who cannot travel to the meeting. With, for example. 100 watching, that's £1200 per meeting of extra income. If you're spending over £1200 per meeting on the production of the stream, then you're doing something wrong.
