Moggo missed 1998, so did 25 seasons (1981-1997, 1999-2006). All the best Rob

Peterborough Panthers 2018

That seems to be a reason to LIKE Peterborough Speedway rather than dislike them. Well it was if you were an Oxford or Swindon fan. All the best Rob -
Jack Biggs' British career spanned 1947 to 1970... 24 years. And that certainly wasn't his whole career. He was killed in action in Australia in 1972 at the age of 50. Not sure when he started racing in Australia - can anyone provide the year? All the best Rob EDIT Rob Hollingworth made his league debut for Berwick in 1973. His final league season was at Boston in 2005. There was a gap in the middle.

Would you like some fish to go with that monster-sized chip? I doubt very much if Redcar are receiving a sizeable bung for the absence of Perks or Andersen - which was the primary rule broken by the current Peterborough promoter. I do agree that a team using SIX guests plus R/R is ridiculous does nothing for speedway's credibility. All the best Rob

Sgp Wildcards 2018

I think it should be: 1. Greg Hancock 2. Nicki Pedersen if they think he’s fit enough. NKI otherwise. 3. Vaclav Milik 4. Andzejs Lebedevs The only other rider who should be considered is Vaculik. With a strong enough showing in Australia, he could grab the place of Milik or Lebedevs. All the best Rob -

No, it was definitely Colin Horton. Around £50,000 in the end. You have to admit, it wasn't your most sensible question. The answer was such an obvious no. All the best Rob -

You're now on an alternative planet. I've always liked Peterborough Speedway - nice racetrack, and have fond memories of fours finals. I couldn't stand Colin Horton, though, and couldn't understand why you continued to stick up for him, even when it was obvious that Hans Andersen wasn't getting paid. I'm sure those forum posts are still around here somewhere. Don't repeat that same mistake again... All the best Rob -

No, I just care about the future of speedway, including Peterborough Speedway. Still, we all know what an excellent judge of character that you are? After all, you continued to stick up for Colin Horton long after everyone else had given up… All the best Rob -

In that if there was a grain of truth in what he said yesterday, he would have surely revealed it before now. The date of the fours was August 6th. In the meantime, he's had his licence suspended and taken part in a tribunal. Surely you'd reveal it at one of those points. If there was any truth in it. Mind you, if you really want to be that gullible... All the best Rob -

Well, we've certainly had none of those from the current Peterborough promoter, who now seems to be trying to rewrite history. All the best Rob -

If this had genuinely happened, you would have thought that Rathbone would have said so at either at time, or at the time he was suspended, rather than leave it until now. He's been less than complete with the truth at least once, that is, when he announced the heavy fine without revealing that the size of the fine actually matched the size of the bung received from Poland. All the best Rob -
Ah, sorry you're adopting the tried-and-trusted 'Edinburgh technique' of claiming to be the under-dogs, so that when you win the cup, you can claim it was an against-all-odds success. In that case, Peterborough are firm favourites, and Ippo are massive outsiders. Happy now? All the best Rob

Not really, they got beaten at Scunny recently (almost managed to lose it on aggregate), and we've lost more home meetings then we won this year. I don't think home and away wins against a poor Workington side and beating Edinburgh at home makes them 'the in-form team'. It's touch-and-go whether Peterborough will beat Glasgow on aggregate, while Ippo should beat either of those two over two legs. Ippo's cup this year, I reckon, with Greaves the trump card. The warning was for moving at the start - that's what Dave Peet was told. As the Scunthorpe team manager, he's going to know what Josh was warned for. He didn't think Josh had moved. If yourself and everyone around you hadn't spotted that movement either, it suggests it didn't happen and the race was wrongly halted, with Lasse Bjerre way, way back on the track. All the best Rob -

And yet the referee told the Scunthorpe team manager, Dave Peet, that it was stopped because Josh had moved at the start. Which I don't think he had. Your confusion proves as to the cause of the stoppage proves that. All the best Rob -

No, that's not why the race was stopped - it's certainly not the information that was passed onto the Scunthorpe camp in any case. Auty was warned for moving at the start. Which (1) nobody but the referee seems to be seen (2) the referee took half a lap to decide. All the best Rob -

The one who fenced Josh Auty on the third bend, by moving across and taking his line away. Josh can't dematerialise out of the way, strangely enough. Although not sure why the race was stopped in the first time of asking. The Scunthorpe camp were told it was because Auty moved at the start, but did anyone see any movement? The ref certainly left it very late - the riders were entering the third turn by the time the race was stopped. You need a bit of luck to win and Sheffield certainly had that yesterday. He could have given Josh enough room to turn the bike. Josh had raced into a gap that was there, only for Bjerre to completely take that gap away, by moving across. In my book, that makes Bjerre the cause of the stoppage. Sheffield were lucky to get a re-run in the first place, as Bjerre was completely out of it first time around. I had a good view of the incident of the first semi-final, from the third/fourth bend. I had a much poorer view of the tight finish to the second semi, but one of the track photographers caught the moment perfectly... showing Summers in third as they crossed the line. Fair play to Sheffield on riding their luck, and I hope Charles Wright is OK. All the best Rob -

Shocking refereeing display. What should have been a Scunthorpe / Glasgow final turned into a Sheffield / Redcar one. Referee bottled excluding a Sheffield rider in both the semi-final and final. Hope Charles Wright is OK. All the best Rob
