Spot on.
-
It will be in both the Speedway Star and Scunthorpe Telegraph first thing in the morning. And then the Scunny website will be updated as well.
-
Two more riders to be announced tonight, at around 9pm.

Drew Kemp.

Josh Auty – upped his game to become one of the best riders in the league this year. All the other riders listed have had good seasons, but pretty much stayed where they were.

Thursdays - Use them or lose them!
lucifer sam replied to Grachan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If we sign up to the ISLB agreement. Maybe we shouldn't do that. Riders would have a choice - they ride in Poland or they ride over here. We need Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. If this year has proven anything, it's that running mid-week (with the notable exception of one or two tracks) is financial suicide. Put speedway on a night when the fans will come, because you need to look after the supporters as your No 1 priority. And then the riders have to fit into that. As I said, no more tail wagging the dog. -

Who actually cares what nights that Poland uses? Friday, Saturday and Sunday are the best nights for attendances, so we should use them. The riders then have a simple choice. It's about time the tail stopped wagging the dog. -

What's so special about Thursdays? Surely crowds are bigger on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. I would suggest one big league, with all fixtures taking place on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. -
• Rider of the Year – Josh Auty, best season of his career • Most impressive team - Workington (non-contest!) • Team rider of the season - Jake Allen • One to watch – Rasmus Jensen • Bulldog award (Best British rider) – Josh Auty • Meeting of the season – Scunthorpe v Sheffield in the Championship Shield – proper speedway • Surprise of the season - Berwick • Underperformers (Team) – Sheffield, league champs to wooden spoon in 12 months. • Unluckiest rider – Dan Bewley • Newcomer of the season - Drew Kemp

Well done Workington - well deserved.

Well done Workington on an awesome performance tonight. I don't think Scunny were that bad - Workington made us look bad. -

Are there day-time closures on the A66 for someone coming up from the south, joining from the M6? Thanks! -
There’s two precedents set. One is to go on the meetings that have been completed. In this case, Lakeside win by 46-44. The other comes from Redcar v Glasgow last year, when a result was declared before Heat 10. The SCB took into account that even if neither Glasgow completed Heat 10, the result was still conclusive. Two 5-0s to Peterborough in Heats 9 and 10 and Lakeside would have still progressed. To be quite frank, no more time can be spent on the semi-final – it’s not fair on Workington, in particular. Workington and Lakeside need to start planning the final, which must take place next weekend.

Lakeside v Workington frid 19th oct 8pm

A lot of the neutral support will be with the Comets - I particularly would like to see them win a long overdue league title. Not that bothered who wins the Shield, while I'm hoping Scunny can stop the Comets juggernaut in the cup (I'm not neutral when it comes to that one ). -
Wild Cards 2019
lucifer sam replied to phillipsr's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Surely having the European Champion qualify would be rather unfair on any Americans or Australians or any other non-Europeans? I don't see any reason to have a major overhaul of the current system, as pretty much the best riders are currently in the series. Maybe there should be restriction where a maximum of 2 wildcards go to riders already in the series (unless there is a good case otherwise due to injuries). That would help keep it fresh.
