  1. Poole, Leicester (who didn't need to stage a round but did) and Berwick have all staged meetings. By my reckoning, the other two clubs who have to stage a round are Ipswich and King's Lynn - I assume Plymouth don't, because of the British Under-21 semi-final. Any idea when the dates will be?
  2. Alan loyal to his speedway team! Shovvy should follow suit and stop moaning.
  3. Still plenty of time to go to Oxford. Traffic around Oxfordshire on Saturday evenings isn't a problem.
  4. Will be a massive crowd packing in at Oxford, and won't start bang on 7.30pm. Head straight there and you won't miss anything. Less than 100 minutes between Leicester and Oxford. Loads of time.
  5. Sensible thing would be to give the Oxford track awhile to dry out. You wouldn't believe the weather Oxfordshire had on Monday. Once in 50 years kind of persistent torrential rain all day. Lots of homes flooded out.
  6. Losing battle since the most rainfall on a single day in over 50 years on Monday. Battle now commences at Poole on Friday.
  7. The website says this in the preview for tomorrow's meeting: Admission is available at the early bird price of just £12 for all adults, which increases to £14 on Race Day. All under-16s go free. A reminder that Oxford Speedway is online ticket sales only – tickets remain on sale on the website until the start-time of the meeting. In other words, you can turn up tomorrow at 2.55pm and buy your ticket via your phone before you go in.
  8. Both sides could only bring in an unattached 3.00 rider.
  9. The usual bleating from Shovvy! You were beaten by the better side.
  10. That was only for the one-off NLRC. It's very unlikely that it will be applicable for the various rounds of the series.
  11. I wasn't confused. You were! It was all announced before the start of the season. Clubs not part of the NL and also without a second half junior side need to stage a round of the new series.
  12. Poole are the third track to announce a date, after Leicester and Edinburgh. There is no one-off championship this season, it's a series. Poole were one of the teams obliged to hold a round.
  13. Just watched the replay of Heat 14 - it was Boughen first and JJ second. Not sure how the ref could get that wrong.
  14. Didn't Ashton Boughen win Heat 14 yesterday? I had him down as winning it, as did BSN, the British Speedway website and Speedway Live Updates. The ref gave it to Jordan Jenkins, but surely JJ backed off the throttle a little coming off the final bend to shut down the inside run of Vissing.
  15. It made a change for me to actually see you win at Wimborne Road. The previous time was a 45-45 draw that saw Scunny clinch the cup on aggregate. I assume you were one of the 90% who had left the stadium with their tails between their legs before Heat 15 took place
  16. That's weird - there was everyone else thinking Oxford were knocked out at Plymouth on Saturday. All last night did was allow Oxford to sign out of the competition with a win and also boost Plymouth's chances of winning the group. It's now a straight fight between Plymouth and Poole for the aggregate bonus point. Beautiful ride by Nicholls in Heat 15 to send you home in a sulk - with the 5-1 from Boughen and Jenkins in Heat 14 just as key!
  17. Not far off for Oxford. I would go for 1985, rather than 1986. 1985 was the first league championship for 21 years. The first time (for a whole generation who hadn't been around in 1964) is always special. 1986 was an even more successful year, but the weather meant it finished in anti-climax. In contrast, the final home meeting of 1985 was the KO Cup Final with Oxford beating Ipswich in a last-heat decider - which I would rate as the best-ever meeting at Cowley.
  18. Janowski's average is 8.00 for Oxford Spires. For the same reason Crump came back on 8.00 at Ipswich in 2021 - no average set within the qualifying period.
  19. Yup, the 8-day-rule is not used for NL riders and I think it's a decent rule, because otherwise it could restrict bookings for younger riders. It's good that Luke can ride for Jake, expect for fixture clashes.
  20. Eight day rule for guest doesn't apply to NL riders. Same as Ben Morley guesting at Plymouth in consecutive weeks last year, before he then signed for them later in the season. All in the rulebook.
  21. It wasn't the most charming way of putting it, but when you looked at the replay, Worrall was right. There was room for Ben Trigger to keep going around the outside but instead he shut off.
