  1. SCB, I would agree - and would point out Jordan Frampton as a perfect example of a lower league rider who rode very well at Brighton this year, even though Kevin Coombes seemed totally oblivious to the fact that Jordan rode for Oxford in addition to Somerest in 2007. To get the fans along from the British tracks, you need riders from British teams. The odd exception such as the massively entertaining Shawn McConnell is alright. And yes, maybe do something slightly different in the afternoon. The Pairs is perhaps a little tired. Maybe a two or four team competition plus the Under 15s in the afternoon, then the individual event at night. And for the night meeting, keep it to 22 races at the maximum, and have a word with the ref to cut down on the number of re-runs - Kennett's numerous reinstatements into Heat 15 were a little ridiculous. He should at least have been reinstalled off a handicap, more chance of the re-run going ahead without a further glitch. All the best Rob
  2. Read the Erik interview last night... very interesting stuff. I don't think Ole Olsen (boo! hiss!) has been the main man yet... Tony, did you manage to interview him as well whilst in Denmark? All the best Rob
  3. That wasn't exactly what I said, but anyhow there has to be an exception that proves the rule. Cheers Schumi. All the best Rob
  4. Schumi - they're not on there, are they? It's just got birthdays, or I am looking in the wrong place? All the best Rob
  5. Is the schedule for the 2008 GP series out yet? All the best Rob
  6. Ryan Sullivan - Peterborough 1999, Poole 2004 and Peterborough 2006. Next question! All the best Rob
  7. Hi Paul - here you go: http://subedei.proboards89.com All the best Rob
  8. That's the one I was after - it's the only time that the World No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 have all come from the same nation. All the best Rob
  9. Erm.. it might have been... but that's not the answer. All the best Rob
  10. Nope it goes further than that. No WWoS posters please - you already know the answer. All the best Rob
  11. Extra question: what makes the result of the 1949 final extra special? All the best Rob
  12. Schumi, 2001 was at Wolves on April 23. There was a controversial clash between Stead and Howe, Stead fell and Howe was excluded. Stead won the meeting. All the best Rob
  13. Mr. Clemens, Daniel Greenwood is the champion - he defeated James Sarjeant in a run-off for first place. All the best Rob
  14. Hi Scunny Stag, It was like the old GP scoring, riders got points on their position, rather than the actual points they scored on the night. The scorers from the Oxford round were 17-15-14-13 for the four finalists, then the remaining riders got 12-11-10-9 etc depending on their positions from the 20 heats. In case of ties from the 20 heats, riders were awarded the same points, e.g. three riders got 10 points, then the next rider got 7 points, and so on. Full details of final scores are on the Oxford website. All the best Rob
  15. Lunchy - it was commiserations to Brendan, because it was his final year in the competition. I agree that third is, nevertheless, a great achievement. All the best Rob
  16. That's because, as far as I'm concerned, he's not a Swindon rider, but a former Oxford rider All the best Rob
  17. Bryn - that's because I see no shame in having a Leigh Adams proggie board All the best Rob
  18. Hmmmm, my obtaining of a LA programme board came while Mr. Adams was still at Oxford, so I think your purchase is more shocking, Rabbit All the best Rob
  19. Bryn - you're just sore because Leigh Adams left King's Lynn in order to head Oxford's EL winning side in 2001. Can I point out that it is a Leigh Adams programme board where he is proudly displaying a JT Commerical Cheetahs racejacket. I used the programme board throughout the 2003 season after Leigh had moved onto Poole, but since he signed for Swindon it only comes out on rare ocassions and not for Oxford team meetings All the best Rob
  20. Full results, including the 250cc races, plus the final championship standings, now posted on the Oxford website. Well done to Daniel Greenwood, and also to Alan Sarjeant, and commiserations to Brendan Johnson, who nevertheless had had a great season. All the best Rob
  21. Believe or not, it will cost JUST a fiver to watch this meeting tomorrow. Yes, a fiver!! So come along to Oxford - I've seen a couple of these rounds before, and they are well worth watching. All the best Rob
  22. It'll also be interesting to see how former Oxford Academy mascot Chris Bint fares tomorrow night. He's got quite a lot of experience around Cowley. Good luck to Chris - hopefully a good night will push him up those standings. All the best Rob
  23. Oh, how ironic All the best Rob
