  1. Parsloes, nope with one with the soundtrack by Queen was the one I saw at the cinema. Although the 1936 film series was repeated on BBC2 in 1980 was what got me into wanting to see the film. I actually bought the 1936 serial on DVD and it was SO disappointing. I remembered it being something special, and instead it was awfully dated and just cr*p. All the best Rob
  2. Yes, a very well known name. He whipped Diana Rigg in the Avengers, and also appeared in Flash Gordon (behind a mask) as Klytus. Flash Gordon was the first film I ever saw at the cinema. All the best Rob
  3. Cheers Parsloes - I hope the gate postions are the right way around, I will be checking All the best Rob
  4. Parsloes, if you could put a proggie aside for me, I'm quite willing to make a donation to Buzz's fund for it. BTW thanks for the kisses - I never knew you cared. All the best Rob
  5. Parsloes, so how come no fewer than seven challenge matches / open meetings were held at Plough Lane during the 2005 season. Surely just one of these could have been given over to Buzz, to let him stage his meeting. Please explain to me why just one of those dates wasn't given to Buzz. And then I'll be informed, won't I? All the best Rob
  6. Paulco, it was rained off, I believe, three times in 2004. The Wimbledon promotion then neglected to restage in the meeting in 2005, and Buzz has been let down ever since then. A real shame, becuase Buzz is a great character and racer (and nutter ), who throroughly deseves a testimonial meeting. All the best Rob
  7. Conkers - I still can't quite see how you can call off a round of the World Championship and not re-stage it. All the best Rob
  8. Surely if it's supposed to be a ten-round series, then it should be a ten round series. How about if Ivanov keeps Krasnikov to within 25 points, surely then the extra round has to be held? All the best Rob
  9. So what's happening with the missing round of the World Championship. When it's being re-staged? All the best Rob
  10. Poor Andy Galvin was just trying to earn a crust. All the best Rob
  11. Well done Sam. Hope to see you back over here at some point. All the best Rob
  12. Great to see the fours back at Peterborough - any chance of the qualifiers making a very welcome return? All the best Rob
  13. And I'll see Krasnikov running in the opposite direction, when he thinks you're trying to crucify him All the best Rob
  14. Krasnikov seems to be strolling towards championship No. 6. Conkers, what are you going to do in five years time when he runs out of fingers to hold up? All the best Rob
  15. Yeah, great. A system where a rider who finishes second in the meeting can score more points than the guy who wins the meeting. About time we went back to the KO system used between 1998 & 2004. Now THAT was entertaining. All the best Rob
  16. Probably just Cardiff now. Was going to go to Malilla, but Travel Plus aren't running their week-long trip over there this year and not really interested in a trip taking in just 2 meetings. Planning to do the Czech Golden Helmet (4 meetings) instead of that. All the best Rob
  17. Conkers - well the big favourite at Assen is Posa, who won't be there now because of the ridiculous regs, so it's backfired somewhat. All the best Rob
  18. But there's 7 qualifiers from one round and 5 from another. How does that work out? All the best Rob
  19. How come Posa is not No. 18? He finished sixth in his qualifier. All the best Rob
  20. And who has said he is guilty? All the best Rob
  21. So Krasnikov is beatable. Looking forward to Assen this year. I'm hoping that Posa will make it through as well - for one last bow. EDIT: Look in here quite often, but don't often post. Keep it up guys - this thread is very informative. All the best Rob
  22. Ron, this is a speedway discussion forum. Therefore we're free to discuss Andy Galvin's situation, which is a topic relating to a former rider. If members of his family are not comfortable with this, then they don't have to come onto this forum - nobody has forced them. It's called free speech. It's as simple as that. All the best Rob
  23. I nominate Paulco and Midnight Lady as joint managers. Seriously, I don't see any harm in Scotland having their own team in the World Cup. Can you imagine if they got through the World Cup preliminary round and got through to ride in the competition proper against England? Would be a great ocassion, nothing like a bit of England/Scotland rivalry. All the best Rob
