  1. Jacques, I'm starting to slightly detect that there's a possibility that maybe you're not a big Lee Richardson fan? All the best Rob
  2. Nope, you do what you have to win. If we could have got the Russians out of the race-off, it would have made things just a bit easier on Thursday. All the best Rob
  3. I couldn't believe what I was seeing there. With all those people down in the Team GB pit, surely someone should have spotted that Woffinden needed to finish behind Topinka in that final race. Such tactical naiveity. All the best Rob
  4. If the Brits have got any sense, they'll now team-ride the Czechs into the race-off, because the Russians won't have this line-up if they're riding on Thursday. All the best Rob
  5. Er... what did Lukas Dryml do wrong there?????????????? All the best Rob
  6. A rather misleading list. Most of the above riders only missed riding in the SWC due to either injury or being retired from international speedway. How many of the above opted out of the World Cup when only 21 years old? Sayfutdinov should be given no option but to ride tonight, or face a ban from the next Grand Prix. He's let down the fans. All the best Rob
  7. Of course, while everyone is focusing on Boycey from last night, the Swedish team manager also made a strange choice in Heat 24, but not putting the in-form Lindback into Heat 24 as the joker, instead of keeping the off-colour programmed Lindgren as the joker.. Lindback could have easily have won the race, and the Swedes would have then finished on 50 points, level with the Danes. All the best Rob
  8. AS, I agree with that you're saying. But remember Cieslak messed things up in 2009, yet was hailed as sort some of tactical genius after he got another lucky chance to use Hampel in Heat 23. All the best Rob
  9. Boycey did leave his joker a bit late - his move in Heat 11 should have been Holder as a joker. That said had Holder won Heat 23 (which he intially led) and the Aussies won, then everyone would be hailing him as a tactical genius (as when Cieslak almost left it too late in the 2009 final, but then got lucky at the end!). How fickle we are! All the best Rob
  10. Paul - given the date of the fours (August 7th), I would expect July 23rd to taken as the cut-off for the averages. And, of course, Richard Sweetman will have an average, since both meetings for Leicester and Glasgow counts towards his Green Sheet average. So I can't see how the Tigers will fail to qualify. I'm still confused how some people have worked out the qualifiers, when: (1) the likely cut-off point for the averages hasn't even been reached yet. (2) We don't know whether averages or league placings determine the finalists (I would suggest the latter makes much more sense, since averages always produce strange anomalies). EDIT: I agree it's hight time to bring down the fours qualifiers. I used to really enjoy these meetings. Mind you, it would make it much more boring on here, since there wouldn't be the arguments as to who's in and who's out!! All the best Rob
  11. Hold on - am I missing something, I didn't think the qualifiers had been announced yet. All the best Rob
  12. Richard Hollingsworth = top bloke. He breathes, eats and sleeps Scunthorpe Speedway. All the best Rob
  13. I can get Radio Luxembourg and Radio Caroline on mine. All the best Rob
  14. Greg Hancock is a marvellous chap. It's one reason that many people are rooting for him last year. All the best Rob
  15. Cardiff is great, but the O2 would be absolutely brilliant. With all the outside outlets, it would just be perfect. All sorts of sports have been staged within the main O2 arena: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_O2_Arena_(London) The track would be on the small size and due to the lower capacity (20,000), I imagine ticket prices would have to go up from Cardiff. But it's a state-of-the-art venue, and much newer than the Millennium Stadium. Plus it's in London. Now before everyone gets on my back, personally I'll go to the British GP whether it's in London, Cardiff, Glasgow or the Outer Hebridies. BUT to get the real publicity from the national papers, the event HAS to be in London. All the best Rob
  16. Good grief, can't believe the amount of moaning on this thread. I'm going to buck the trend and say I enjoyed myself on Saturday. All the best Rob
  17. Well, if they sang a version of it in a proper language (e.g. English), we'd be able to join in. All the best Rob
  18. I don't bother with all that presentation mumbo-jumbo. My bottom doesn't like being perched in the same place for more than 3 hours, so I tend to stay outside the Prince Of Wales until the last possible moment, then head in at around 4.45pm. I don't want to watch some X-Factor reject. My time in Cardiff is precious. After a trip to the Collectors Fair, I then like to spend at least three hours at the Prince Of Wales for a meet-up with all and sundry. All the best Rob
  19. SCB, yes it is the experience and the day out which is special about Cardiff - it's a speedway meeting when the racing is secondary. Mind you, I will need councilling after seeing Snyper in a kilt. All the best Rob
  20. I never have massive expectations of Cardiff being a great meeting, so I'm not let down when it isn't. Yesterday was a ho-hum meeting, it wasn't great, but it wasn't awful either. Cardiff 2010 was something a bit special, I'm fully aware we are unlikely to get that every year. At least the track this year didn't rut up in the way it did in the early days, some of the early Cardiff meetings were very poor. As usual, the best racing of the GP weekend came at Somerset 24 hours earlier - with the Joe Screen masterclass. All the best Rob
  21. Well done to all in getting the meeting on tonight. And well done to Glasgow on winning tonight. Grieves was gating, while Screen did the rest. In particular, Screen's ride in the semi-final was a masterclass. Nice to meet up with a number of forum members, including Snyper for the first time in a couple of years. All the best Rob
  22. Ouch, I hope that forecast is completely wrong. Getting fed up of the big rain cloud that seems to follow me around. All the best Rob
  23. Great to see such a big crowd for Johno - a top bloke. The meeting itself was something of a drawn-out affair, but at least there was a decent final at the end of it all. That's probably about the best I've seen Schlein ride. Thanks for all the memories, Johno All the best Rob
  24. Is the clash with Glastonbury going to make the traffic even worse than usual, or should everyone be at Glastonbury by then? All the best Rob
  25. I hope Bridger never grows up, he's hilarious What a twonk. All the best Rob
