  1. Please note official website is at: http://www.scunthorpescorpions.co/ This has actually been the official website for a good chunk of the season, but the older one was being maintained at the same time. All the best Rob
  2. Forecast for Bathgate for today is not good. Hope the rain stays away from the track. All the best Rob
  3. That'll be Tom Young.... from Newport. Tom Young's done absolutely brilliantly this year, but do you really expect Edinburgh to ask Tom to drive all the way from Newport on a grotty day, when Tommy Fenwick is on the doorstep? Good luck tonight Tommy. All the best Rob
  4. Yes, he comes from Falkirk and has done extremely well for the Saints given his almost total lack of speedway experience. Good luck tomorrow Tommy. All the best Rob
  5. But the guests for the lower average reserve are very restricted. Newcastle, for example, have been really badly hit trying to find guests in place of Steve Worrall. It's highly unlikely that Edinburgh would be able to find a guest, using the current rules, capable of scoring more than a point or two. Tommy will go out there and give it 100% - as Montie has already indicated it's his chance to be a hero. But, at the end of the day, it's always going to be about how much the other six Edinburgh riders score. It was already much pretty like that when Helfer was riding. All the best Rob
  6. Tommy Fenwick has been riding at No 2 or 4 most of the season for the Saints - not reserve. Give the lad a break. Good luck Tommy - hope you have a good one on Friday. All the best Rob
  7. How much did Tai score in the GP challenge? All the best Rob
  8. You are truly delusional if you think Woffinden will win a Grand Prix next year. MJJ has already won one, and how on earth he can be overlooked in favour of Woffinden is beyond me. Well, actually I do know why, but the logic is completely flawed. Why would anyone in this country be more likely to watch a GP if Tai Woffinden is in it rather than MJJ? All the best Rob Yup. Still doesn't change it from being a cr*p decision though. All the best Rob
  9. Edinburgh website says: "both Richard Lawson and Rene Bach say they are fit to ride after injuries last weekend." All the best Rob
  10. Well, no-one else has started this thread, so I will. The deciding match in Group 1 of the play-offs. Edinburgh cannot qualify (despite a very spirited display at Workington on Saturday), but will want to finish their season with a win, while Workington are after a rare away win at Armadale. It's fairly straightforward, but these are the scenarios: Home win for Edinburgh – Scunthorpe Scorpions progress to play-off final. Draw – Scorpions still progress to final, on race points difference, thanks to the big home wins against Edinburgh and Workington. Away win for Workington – Comets progress to final. According to the Edinburgh website, both Rene Bach and Richard Lawson will line-up for Workington despite their knocks last weekend. All the best Rob
  11. I doubt if a Brit will get a wildcard. They'll give Woffinden one instead. (Ducks) All the best Rob
  12. Parsloes, these are too difficult. Can you make them easier? Something like M. Burrows, rode for Wimbledon between 2003 and 2005. Then I'd be able to help you. All thebest Rob
  13. I find it unbelivable that Malilla is not on the 2013 calendar - been there three times for GPs in 2008, 2009 and 2011, because it's such a top track. Not sure how Malilla goes and yet Ullevi (which always looks empty) stays. All the best Rob
  14. One thing this has yet again proves is that Nicki Pedersen is brilliant box office. He helps to create more headlines than any other speedway rider. Like others, I suspect he had a plan to try to get Holder out of the race. It didn't work, but boy did he create a talking point, which will extend beyond the usual speedway community. All the best Rob
  15. So would people really like to see the World Championship settled by a refereeing decision, rather than through racing? It happened on the first bend, so bringing back all four riders is a valid decision. And the right one. Although if you pressed me to exclude a rider, I'd say Pedersen. He caused the incident by pushing Holder off the track. Holder did lose control, but because Nicki had shoved him onto the grass. All the best Rob
  16. Possible guests for tonight were a bit restricted, so Josh rode despite being not quite 100% yet with his wrist. And got a paid maximum As for MPT, he was brilliant!! Great all-around team performance. All the best Rob
  17. Superb performance by the Scorpions tonight - the Comets didn't know what had hit them. All the best Rob
  18. Josh Auty is back. Hugh Skidmore comes in at No 2, while R/R operates for Nick at No 5: 1. Josh Auty 2. Hugh Skidmore (guest) 3. Richard Hall (guest) 4. Ashley Birks 5. Nick Morris R/R 6. MPT 7. Gary Irving All the best Rob
  19. A night when both sides lost points to various mishaps. The final result was around about right. Workington deserved the points, but Scorpions kept it close in terms of race points, and a handsome three point win for the Scorpions today would put them in a nice position. All the best Rob
  20. Scunnymoaner, Richard Hall rode his heart out for the Scorpions at Workington last night. His 6+1 should have been 9+1 but for a fuel problem in Heat 11 with the chequered flag in sight. Guests are always hit and miss, but Hall does give 100%. All the best Rob
  21. Revised Scorpions’ line-up: 1. Richard Hall (guest for Josh Auty) 2. Thomas Jorgensen R/R 3. Kevin Doolan (guest for David Howe) 4. Ashley Birks 5. Sam Masters (guest for Nick Morris) 6. Michael Palm Toft 7. Gary Irving All the best Rob
  22. Great point for Scorpions. Nearly more, but still an excellent result. Thanks to Sam Masters and Kevin Doolan for being superb guests. All the best Rob
  23. That's the unfortunate truth. Nick would have jumped at the chance at a Heat 15 in a TV match - a chance to show what he's capable of. Plus some extra dosh - an extra ride at EL level is lucrative. And 5 meetings on the trot in 5 days would be no problem to Nick - he's a young, fit lad. At the end of the day, it's just bad luck. There's no point in trying to point the finger and blame someone, you just have to get on with it. Nothing is over yet; there's nothing to stop us scoring points from tonight's meeting. All the best Rob Peasley
