  1. I see. You make a daft comment and then pretend it was a wind up all along
  2. I think that hits the nail on the head. Certain riders prefer a track where 90% of winning a race is popping first out of the gate and then defending their position. Scunny isn't like that. It's a track prepared principally for the paying customers so that they can enjoy good racing. And yesterday those fans saw some superb racing.

  4. Councils are weird. I guess they haven't worked out once people are in place, there's zero risk of spreading the virus when socially distanced in an outdoor setting. Of the five tracks I've attended this season, three required a mask to be worn if you were moving about then you could take it off once settled and the other two only required a mask if you went inside to order food, etc. I probably won't go to Ipswich or King's Lynn until the restrictions are removed, because I start to feel a bit dizzy if I have a mask on for too long. I realise there's nothing the promotions could do and it's just the ignorance of the councils involved.
  5. PLEASE note there are still roadworks on Normanby Road, right outside the Eddie Wright Raceway, so please leave extra travelling time for Scorpions v Eastbourne tonight (7.30pm). Thank you! Thomas Jorgensen is all set to ride for Attis Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions against Eagles, despite a heavy crash at Ipswich last night, which left him as badly winded.
  6. PLEASE note there are roadworks on Normanby Road, right outside the Eddie Wright Raceway, so please leave extra travelling time for Attis Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions v Leicester Lions tomorrow (Friday, 7.30pm). Thank you!
  7. Full credit has to go to both promotions. Plymouth were fully co-operative in the rapid re-staging.
  8. The forecast for Sunday looks line - just some light rain towards the end of the day. It's starting at 3pm on Sunday, so it'll all be finished by then.
  9. Yeah, I got the same message, but then couldn't order a ticket. I think the messages have perhaps been sent out in error.
  10. No 6 wasn't a reserve position until 1969. There was only one reserve - at No 7.
  11. If you received an order reference, that sounds like it went through. Send an email to gail.godfrey@btconnect.com
  12. I did one yesterday as a test - it came through within a minute. Check out your spam and trash folders - it might be in one of those.
  13. Oh well, I got that wrong - both start at 3pm! I will update the website now!
  14. Ah, with so much going on to prepare for the season, I don't think that had been top of the agenda. I'm pretty sure that start-time will be sometime between 5pm and 6.30pm so plan for a start-time between those two times. Next time I speak to Rob G, I'll ask him and then I'll update them on the website. Apologies. Incidentally, if you have any questions for the club, it's better to ask through the twitter rather than on here - we try to answer questions posed on twitter, but it's easy to lose them on here, where half the posts aren't even about Scunny.

  16. Puzzled by some of the negativity. After 18 months with odd challenge match, I can't wait for league speedway to return. Nice, exciting team put together for the new season - it will be so interesting to watch the progress of Jordan Palin. Bring it on! Somerset supporters would love to be in the position that Scunthorpe find themselves - with a new season ahead and with the Josh Auty testimonial lined up for March 2022, we're also pretty much guaranteed next season as well!
  17. It now seems to have changed. You can get in, but all ticket ranges show as "Tickets not available."
  18. Has Cardiff been cancelled? Just tried to order a ticket on the SGP website and it says "Page Not Found" when trying to order a ticket.
  19. Again, if everywhere is Tier 2 or lower by next Easter, then it's not a problem.
  20. Good grief - talk about negative. Covid, while seperate to flu, is settling down into a seasonal pattern. The summer months next year should be OK. Under the current tier restrictions, Tier 1 is crowds up to 4000 and tier 2 crowds up to 2000. As long as everyone is down to tier 2 next Easter, then the British Speedway season can take place almost unaffected.
