  1. They had the Gold cup on live at the stadium and have the bar open. They ran the same day once and it was a total mess.
  2. No the rolling averages stay in place, so may take a while, but if Simon starts badly he will drop straight down.
  3. I think Koppe's situation is his girlfriend has been working over here, and her work permit is all but over now. Good luck to him and hope to see him back in the UK soon.
  4. Andre at reserve would be a great help to young Joe. If he can gate with Andre he will get him home. Any one remember the race when Andre team rode Benji home, one of the slowest of all time but what a team ride. More of this please.
  5. So Colin Pratt, Eric Boocck, Neil Middleditch, Phil Morris, Rosco, Chris Louis, Gary & Brian Havelock, Len Silver are no good, plus I am sure I missed a few.
  6. Problem is they are not the Promotoers till they own it, and as Hoggy says the sale is still going through.
  7. It's no good getting all wound up about not knowing. You can't sign a rider to a club you don't own. I am sure the people buying the club will let us know as soon as they can.
  8. Thought Polish riders wern't allowed in PL??
  9. The solution is simple, go to the Speedway office next week and seek an answer. If the coment by The centre green announcer was about your team coments. Ask for an appology. If as I have said it was about the meeting being off then so be it. I am sure this does not demand a full scale war. In my oppinion the Announcer should have said what he was talking about a little clearer.
  10. Sorry but I think you all got the wrong end of the stick. The statement by the club was regarding the piece Osal Boy put about the meeting Being 90% certain of being off. When he was sat in Leeds. As you all say he is entitled to say what he wants about the riders club, and with that I think we all agree. But saying a meeting is 90% certain to be off is different, as the meeting tonight prooved.
  11. Dry and Dull with a bit of mist in Sheffield at the moment. Forcast for a few showers but no heavy rain. Bring it on, hope for a big win and through to the next round.
  12. I see from the Owlerton website that Sundays Stockcar meeting is OFF. Now thats a bonus for us.
  13. So if he doesn't score points what kind of pay cheque does he get? A Blank one I would guess
  14. iI think you are right about the shale, I am sure they had to start using the same fine shale as at Bell Vue on the insistance of the Greyhound people. This smaller shale does not bind as well as the old course stuff. I see the track graded every week at about 5pm and there is loads of stuff there but it looks so fine and loose like it would blow away.
  15. That sounds like the reply of an accountant. Numbers, numbers, numbers :-)
  16. I think Sheffield should make OILYRAG the team manager. He would sign all the best riders and make all the right tactical changes. Have a great Christmas one and all, see you in March.
  17. On Sheffield's website it still has 2012 prices listed. So not sure where you have got your price from.
  18. Looks like the Promotion have listened to the voice of the supporters and decided to stay with Thursday nights. We will never know if this was the right night to choose as the supporters who may have come to watch on a Sunday will never come forward. We will only hear from those who would have stopped going to speedway. So good luck to the 2013 team and hope we can prove all the doubters wrong. 19. The one thing we don't blame for the low crowd level is the crash of the economy. I have many friends who run there own companies and all are suffering, and it's not due to a bad product. Yes, it wasn't the best side to represent Sheffield for a long time, but I did get fed up with people telling me, "If we had a winning team this place would be full" Well, runners up in 2011, with a cracking entertaining team. And no the place wasn't full. Fuller than 2o12 but still not full. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that the new guys find there feet quickly, and we become a force to rekon with. Turn up at the start of the season and give them a chance and let's see what happens. You can have a moan if it doesn't work, but give me a break.
  20. One thing I do know for fact is. You can't please all the people all the time. You ask for a number one, we get it. You ask for new riders and not the same stale team, we now have 3 new riders. And guess what, people still moan.
  21. If a reserve is having 5/6 or 7 rides then your top 5 are not doing the job they were signed to do. I would rather take a chance on a young brit at 7, as long as the heat leaders are up to there job. So Stead is a good start, let's get 2 more signed up, and a number 4 that can improve a bit as well.
