  1. They were truly awful , and with the queue at the bar , you couldn't avoid them
  2. There's obviously a lot of head scratching over rider availability , as long as we get them before March
  3. Some kind person has put heat 15 away to Sheffield in 1991 and home against Cradley Heath heat 15 in 1992 , on the official Glasgow web page . I was lucky enough to be at both those meetings , both are well worth enjoying again
  4. Me too , I enjoy my pints and banter with the Emmerdales , in the bar after the meeting win , lose or draw . So I wont be cutting my nose off to spite my face . Most people will make their own mind up about whether they go or not without being swayed by toeing the party line . There's a wee pub in Bathgate I like going to when I get off the train , and there's a night at the speedway and some friendly banter with good company . Why should I give that up ?
  5. Our team has been named for weeks , nothing to talk about as far as we are concerned . So the only interest we have is the ongoing mission to find a number 7 by our nearest and dearest
  6. Maybe they'll have a good old fashioned " vultures " race just before heat 1 of the Spring Trophy
  7. well yeah that's true . I'll leave your lot alone and go back tormenting the Moanarchs
  8. I know it's only January , but I shudder to think what state the track is in , it hasn't stopped raining for about 6 weeks . Pre season training starts today , lunchtime meet up in the Horseshoe Bar
  9. He could well turn out to be a decent rider . If it's planning for the future , then so be it . Surely that is a better way to go than go with Klindt , who wont increase his average much , if at all , and would most probably miss a good few meetings .
  10. Very true , as long as your own supporters are happy it doesn't matter what the rest of us think .
  11. Dunno about that so much , don't see too many bad sides out there . Yes you have the Armadale factor . but away points will be hard to come by
  12. Like Jerzy Szackiel before him , right place at the right time
  13. Are you two gentleman trying to do me , Gaz and George M out of a job on here ?
  14. Didn't hang around long enough to be worshipped by us Tigers fans . Did a couple of away meetings for Coatbridge Tigers in 1973 , then was offski
  15. That was always going to happen for 2016 , how long we put up with it remains to be seen .
  16. Aye time you came back , bring the wean
  17. Why is it when an individual does a dangerous job and he goes to work for somebody paying more money than somebody else , for doing the same job , he is a mercenary ? Surely it's any remotely intelligent person's duty to get the best deal for their skills as they possibly can ?
  18. People are just worried because , like show jumping , speedway finds itself out in the sporting margins . We all just want the sport to be successful and strong , but it's a long way from being that
  19. So if what you say turns out to be the case , then Ryan McDonald could be the most likely option
  20. Happy new year fellow Tiggers , hope we are all well and now the countdown to the new season begins . Looking forward to the fixtures coming out so I can plan my wee trips down south and cheer my boss up with my holiday requests haha . Festive season over , thoughts now turn to planning for the forthcoming season
  21. Yes he did , both him and James Cockle were graded B reserves . Robert benefitted from the assistance of Shane Parker more than Cockle was able to . Was all downhill for Robert after that season
  22. The BSPA are incapable of taking proper control of anything . In 2006 when we had the A , B and C graded reserves they changed the goalposts halfway through the season when they decided Steve Boxall and Jon Armstrong were scoring too heavily from that position . But you're quite correct , a proper defined pay rate should have been set .
  23. Too much is made of that kind of thing on here . What a club pays a rider or refuses to pay to get a rider should only concern the club and the rider . Three pointers shouldn't come into that category though , ok they should be paid fairly , but they should be biting the hand off promoters to get the chance to ride PL speedway . I find it hard to believe anyone in that position would have the balls to try and hold a club to ransom . Which makes me think whatever red tape needs to be overcome to bring Mitchell Davey into the three pointer equation is currently the reason of the hold up . What I do find strange is that Edinburgh will start with a septet over a point under the points limit .
