  1. I still get shivers when I remember the atmosphere going into heat 15 at Shawfield in 1992 when Glasgow beat Cradley . Would love to see this competition back , but with all the doubling up there would undoubtably be clashes where there are riders who ride for both clubs . So for that reason I cant see it ever happening again .
  2. The Stars night there back in February was very good , but I understand your point of view . I'd be reluctant if it was held at Parkhead , can't please everyone I suppose .
  3. Didn't inconvenience Kevin Wolbert too much in his average quest in 2014
  4. Going back to the Masters / Pedersen confrontation , it's about time mechanics stuck to just readying the bikes , seems they all think they are their rider's minder as well .
  5. Ignore him , I'd be amazed if both Aaron and Richard weren't back next year . Worrall certainly appeals , his average isn't what it should be , he's pretty decent round Ashfield , and the dump for that matter , though he did blot his copybook during the league meeting with Somerset when he had an altercation with Aaron
  6. Strange , with Cook seemingly leaving the PL behind , I would have thought Edinburgh could have kept the rest of this year's side together . Slamming Sam , Sedgmen and Wolbert would still make up an adequate heat leader trio
  7. I don't see that myself , there is the same rivalry between other clubs , but at the moment we both are challenging for cups and titles which makes the rivalry a bit more heated by some It's utter nonsense mate
  8. His best days are now behind him , he's on his current average for a reason Now if you want to pass Jack Holder in our direction , that's a different matter
  9. Victor is ok when he gates , hasn't got the racer bit in him to try and come from the back if he doesn't .
  10. That's nothing to do with it , we'd be boxing each other if that was the case . Tigers and Monarchs have had this going on for as long as I can remember , it's called derby rivalry and sometimes it gets a bit more fever pitch than other times
  11. Well as we are now into the silly season , that's two outlandish nailed on Tigers I've heard about . A Monarch acquaintance of mine was trying to convince me that Glasgow had done a deal to bring Peter Karlsson to Ashfield next year . Well we do already have Michael Max there I suppose
  12. I think Mr Fisher is done here now , his future is cleaning up in individual meetings round Costa Mesa with his pal Janniero
  13. Nughty , naughty . That would be like the Devils having a Falcon on their racejacket
  14. Oh well , that's that then . Disappointed , but not surprised . Well done Edinburgh , deserved champs yet again , but I'm also happy with the season my team has had . Considering , 2011 apart , we're usually down near the foot of the table , it was a pleasant change to be supporting a team challenging for honours . Thankfully I missed last night's second leg , Nick Morris' mum and dad and I were following things on the chatzone in a London pub and it was evident from early on that our 7 point lead was never going to be anywhere near adequate . But we've had a wonderful season and it's only the building blocks that were put in place this season . I wait with anticipation to see what events unfold over the winter , at my club and the sport as a whole . But for the moment we must pay tribute to the worthy champions of our league , congratulations Edinburgh
  15. When i first went i had rickets and only ate Hovis bread , you could get 6 pints , 20 fags , a pint of milk and still have change from a pound
  16. Let's do what Somerset did in the KO Cup final . They had a similar first leg lead as we do and nobody thought it would be enough , but it was . Come on Glasgow , you can do this
  17. But Junior is unaware of that , like most of the Monarch's faithful Junior has decided James is somehow cheating everytime he goes to the tapes . Thankfully James seems a strong character and this sort of hysterical reaction to him wont bother him one iota . Referees are a different problem however and it seems everytime James makes a decent start , legitamate or not , refs panic and pull the race back . Heat 11 last night being a wonderful exception
  18. True , but the incentive to get there is more evident now than ever
  19. In what way is he bringing the sport into disrepute ? And i don't think any reputable bookie will have a book on James being warned tonight
  20. Dont think we'll have any double uppers who wont have Glasgow meetings as their number 1 priority in the event of fixture clashes . That would rule out Nick , young James and even Victor returning next year . Victor missed a few midweek meetings due to clashes with the Swedish League . So it would be Aaron , Richard and 5 others for 2016
  21. Play offs help , Glasgow was rocking last night , easily over 2000 at last night's meeting against Edinburgh . I know there are still fans who are against the play off system , but last night again proved that they are now a necessity in our sport
  22. The letter highlighted the season ticket deal , the crossover one , which Edinburgh brought to a premature end saying only two Glasgow fans made use of it . Then they object to us running on a Friday night because it could affect their attendances . Doesn't really add up . Anyway onto last night , ref seemed to be on a mission to burn as many clutches out as he could last night with the length of time he was holding riders at the tapes , no wonder one or two riders ending up going through them . The endless witch hunt of young James and his starting prowess shows no sign of abating either . Monarchs fans round us screaming in protest every time the tapes went up when James was in a race . Sweet moment when he made a perfect start against the blessed Cookie in heat 11 , the blue and yellow mob had just finished their howls of protest when the blessed one came down trying all he could to get past James . Hope both injured riders , who's meeting came to a premature end , are not too badly hurt and that tonight's meeting is a powderkeg classic . We need every one of our fantastic Tigers side to be at the top of their game tonight and hopefully Smiley Sam is still riding the lawn mower he used last night and his good bikes are en route to Oz , that helps . Was a long drawn out affair last night , mainly due to the ref causing all the reruns , but there is now draught beer in the bar which made all the delays bearable haha C'mon the Stripes tonight , let's make tonight a smug free celebration
