  1. No rain this season please . Had a very nice curry last May in Ipswich , but I want to see the speedway this time . Ben looked much quicker , on Sunday , than he has done all season . So that makes a fixture marked as a potential away win an awful lot more difficult . Because you can be sure Ben will be bursting a gut on Thursday . Still it should be a cracker of a meeting and I'm looking forward to it .
  2. Delighted with that draw . Weekend fixtures means no issues getting time off work
  3. We are very happy to have Richie Worrall in our side at Glasgow , so no , we don't find him boring at all
  4. Not the classic of a week earlier , but a comfortable home win in the sunshine . Beer and speedway in the sunshine and a Tigers win , what more can you ask for ?
  5. Hopefully it's better on Thursday , I have selective hearing according to the missus
  6. Beautiful morning , going to have to be factor 30 in the Charlie Monk stand today , plus record beer sales . And it should be an entertaining 15 heats of speedway as well , what more could you want on a Sunday ?
  7. Sad but true . It looked like a masterstroke signing Ben on his current average , but it just hasn't worked out . As you say , Somerset was shocking and his first ride on Monday night was even worse . So welcome Rene and onwards and upwards
  8. Glad you enjoyed your visit , if speedway was always like this meeting there would be no falling attendances But regarding the heat 15 question . If memory serves me , and Pogo could help me here , when I was down at Plymouth in 2011 and Josh Grajczonek got injured , we were going to replace him with Joe Screen had the meeting beaten the curfew and the rerun of heat 15 had been allowed to happen . But despite Glasgow doing nothing wrong by replacing Richie with Aaron , it does seem unfair that there was no penalty for going through the tapes other than Richie being excluded .
  9. Well we had a great time and had the hangover to prove it this morning . God knows what time it was when we left the bar haha . I feared a pumping after the way we started the meeting , but we came back well . The hated black and white helmet won us a point Track looked really tricky though , but Aaron Summers had no issues with it , he was outstanding .
  10. Looking forward to this one . Stevie Worrall would have won the recent British Semi Final had he not fell in his first outing , 4 superb wins after that showed us what a threat he'll be tomorrow . Robert Lambert is the most exciting , emerging British talent around at the moment . He was breathtaking when I saw him at Kings Lynn last season , be interesting to see how good he is round Ashfield . Ht 13 with Richard and Aaron against those two should be a belter . The key to the meeting could be the engine rooms of both sides , while Richie Worrall has been superb , Ben has been very inconsistent . While on the other side Lindgren and Kus have had some impressive Ashfield meetings and some stinkers . Then there's Victor to welcome back , well he was in attendance last week , but it's a welcome back on track , and after his impressive showing at the dump last night , he'll be full of confidence . I think , and hope , we'll just sneak it , but it promises to be an absolute cracker .
  11. Maybe Glasgow , Sheffield , Somerset and one or two others can be tempted into a rebranded top division
  12. Better not be off , we had that last year with the Motorcycle news thing
  13. Yeah , we're at Ippo the night before too . So hopefully it's a good trip
  14. I'm looking forward to it though , love going to watch speedway at Peterborough
  15. How much longer do you persevere with Grondal ? Hopefully till at least the 10th of June
  16. I enjoyed it today , easy home win yes , but there was some decent racing . Overly fussy refereeing threatened to ruin the meeting , but thankfully he got fed up pulling back races eventually . Bjerre was shocking , even worse than Auty was the other week . We haven't been truly tested at home yet , I suspect that is about to change seven days from now .
  17. I fear for Scunthorpe today , Sheffield look a very decent outfit and after the concerns over crowd levels last season , the last thing that is needed is some heavy home defeats .
  18. But enough of our poorer neighbours , they have a pumping at Rye House to receive . Back in the land of the filthy rich , it's been a dry morning after a wet night , so the track should be perfect for some exciting racing today . Come on the stripes
  19. League meeting finished 51-39 and we only secured the points after a Summers/Lawson 5-1 in heat 13 , so you cant take anything for granted
  20. Don't fret Waco , I've called them much , much worse in the past
  21. If that turns out to be the case , I doubt those will be the KO Cup meetings . Sky , to my knowledge , have never televised a PL KO Cup meeting and only pay the PL lip service despite their assertion that " the PL never lets us down " . Anyway we can't look any further than this tie as Redcar made us work hard in the league meeting in April .
  22. Ah the KO Cup , the Black and White helmet hater's dream tournament . Redcar make a quick return to Ashfield after a more than adequate performance a few weeks back . They'll have the lesser Bjerre back in their side this time , along with the always entertaining Jonas B Anderson and Huge Skidmark . So here's hoping we can take a comfortable lead down to Teeside on Thursday
  23. Agreed about Starke , he was very good at Glasgow yesterday too . He's improved an awful lot . There was a cracking band on in the Crossways when we got back after the meeting , that's twice we've stayed there now and will return there next time .
  24. Wasn't the worst meeting I've ever seen , but it wasn't anything special due to the big difference in abilities . Nevertheless it was a decent enough day weatherwise and there was a healthy looking crowd to watch it . Paul Starke was the surprise package , that lad has really improved a lot , and Danny Ayres deserves credit too , just a shame his opening heat exclusion came back to haunt him . Silly bugger forgot to put his steel shoe on haha .
