  1. Better not be off , we had that last year with the Motorcycle news thing
  2. Yeah , we're at Ippo the night before too . So hopefully it's a good trip
  3. I'm looking forward to it though , love going to watch speedway at Peterborough
  4. How much longer do you persevere with Grondal ? Hopefully till at least the 10th of June
  5. I enjoyed it today , easy home win yes , but there was some decent racing . Overly fussy refereeing threatened to ruin the meeting , but thankfully he got fed up pulling back races eventually . Bjerre was shocking , even worse than Auty was the other week . We haven't been truly tested at home yet , I suspect that is about to change seven days from now .
  6. I fear for Scunthorpe today , Sheffield look a very decent outfit and after the concerns over crowd levels last season , the last thing that is needed is some heavy home defeats .
  7. But enough of our poorer neighbours , they have a pumping at Rye House to receive . Back in the land of the filthy rich , it's been a dry morning after a wet night , so the track should be perfect for some exciting racing today . Come on the stripes
  8. League meeting finished 51-39 and we only secured the points after a Summers/Lawson 5-1 in heat 13 , so you cant take anything for granted
  9. Don't fret Waco , I've called them much , much worse in the past
  10. If that turns out to be the case , I doubt those will be the KO Cup meetings . Sky , to my knowledge , have never televised a PL KO Cup meeting and only pay the PL lip service despite their assertion that " the PL never lets us down " . Anyway we can't look any further than this tie as Redcar made us work hard in the league meeting in April .
  11. Ah the KO Cup , the Black and White helmet hater's dream tournament . Redcar make a quick return to Ashfield after a more than adequate performance a few weeks back . They'll have the lesser Bjerre back in their side this time , along with the always entertaining Jonas B Anderson and Huge Skidmark . So here's hoping we can take a comfortable lead down to Teeside on Thursday
  12. Agreed about Starke , he was very good at Glasgow yesterday too . He's improved an awful lot . There was a cracking band on in the Crossways when we got back after the meeting , that's twice we've stayed there now and will return there next time .
  13. Oh well , we came , we saw and we disappointed . But credit Sheffield , they were far too good from the gate for our boys . You expect Stead and possibly Garrity to be strong on their own shale , but Bates and Berge ( git lol ) were very good . Disappointing night for us , but at least we had a cracking race to watch in heat 15 as Barker ended Berge's maximum hopes . Maybe we're not as good as we think we are , and wee reminders like we got here is never a bad thing .
  14. Possibly , but Somerset is never the easiest place to go to and once again they are a very strong side . We started really strongly , but Somerset have a knack of getting better as a meeting progresses , and so it again proved . But I wasn't too despondent , the racing was very good , especially Paul Starke in heat 15 . He richly deserved his man of the match award in the bar afterwards . One note of caution though for Mr Starke , when we were down last season , Leigh Lanham won that award haha . Anyway the result was the only downside of my visit , we stayed at the Crossways inn in West Huntspill , and the beer in there is brilliant . Agree about the Bristol Bridge pub , that place is getting very run down and think it's on it's last legs , decent pint of Bombadier in it though . Nice to see the Newport contingent there , Dai Lager and Tanya , and Pirate Nick introduced me to BSF royalty , nice to meet you Mr Shovlar .
  15. No I'm not doing them , usually there is a Sheffield texter
  16. Friday the 13th for the Rebels I hope Anyway see you guys down there after I've been to the Bristol Bridge
  17. Think I've got the right start time . Anyway one day before the meeting and no thread yet ? This should be a belter by two definite play off candidates . New Barrack Tavern for drinks first me thinks
  18. Aye true , paid maximum for Lunna and 6 plus 2 for Ayres is very welcome , but they wont come close to those scores again this season in all likliehood
  19. Think you can forget about Cook now , to an outsider it always looked like basically an abuse of the guest system waiting to happen . What about Davy Watt ? Would he not now be eligible to drop down ?
  20. What went wrong was basically two riders , Auty and Davies , looking shadows of the riders that we know they can be . Two second strings , Wilkinson and Morris , who are basically reserves , trying manfully to cope with home riders much better than they are . A substandard foreigner , riding at reserve , clearly not up to it , and a young lad just setting out in the sport . Only Ryan Douglas gave any resistance to the home team's onslaught .
  21. Was watching the Aberdeen comeback in the Horseshoe bar , till I got bored and went to the speedway
  22. Mr Maximum at Glasgow , Charlie Monk . How he was never a World Finalist is one of speedway's great mysteries
  23. I agree , Scunthorpe did for speedway today what a talentless singer with a leek hanging out his back pocket , did for music
