  1. I would think so . Aaron , Richie , Son of God , Nike , Jack Smith , hopefully Bewley and whoever else fits
  2. A rapidly improving reserve plays a big part in any league winning side
  3. That we don't know , but young bones heal quicker . With the points limit down to 40 , young Bewley's low average will be even more sought after
  4. Where as Bewley looks very tempting on his low average , most of the other 2016 three pointers wont . Cant see Glasgow going with a three pointer and Danny Ayres at reserve , a three pointer and Bewley is a different proposition altogether .
  5. I sympathise with your situation Tyretrax , knowing where it is you work and it would be impossible to get a Saturday night off , it's a shame someone like yourself , who has been part of the furniture for decades has to miss watching the Tigers . But we were always going to try and get away from the Sunday afternoon raceday , it will be interesting to see how it goes . It's one thing getting big crowds for evening cup finals , we'll see how it goes in the regular part of the season . While much has been made of switching to Saturday nights , nothing has been said about the other announcement at the dance - I refer to the giant screen to be placed on bend 2 . That will add something to the evening's entertainment .
  6. Seriously Blobby !!!!!!! surely you don't pay any attention to what gets posted on Arsebook . That's even more mental than it gets on here . Why , we even had your sponsor making a fool of himself on there during the KO Cup final on Monday night .
  7. Given the rapid progress he was starting to make , before he got injured , during the second half of the season . Whoever signs Dan Bewley on his low average and starts him at reserve , will be favourites for the PL title . Will also be interesting to see if Belle Vue use him as a fast track reserve , assuming this practice is still in place next season
  8. Anyway onto team building . We'll know during the week which set of rules , daft or otherwise , we'll be working with next season . If we stick with the three pointers at number 7 , I noticed Andy Smith and his son , Jack , in the bar after the Cup final last Monday - I wonder
  9. I loved my trips to Newport , especially the Newport v Glasgow clashes the night before Cardiff . They never disappointed
  10. Was at a Welsh Open at Newport one year , might have been the one the day after Harris won at Cardiff , and the Polish lad Marius Mroz ( think that was his first name ) went spectacularly into the fence , at the pits gate , face first . Hit it with an almighty clatter , but within a few minutes he was up waving to the crowd , thought he was a goner that day
  11. It's an interesting one , Saturday night is really breaking new ground for us , Saturday night in Possilpark lol , really interesting haha I assume a Sunday afternoon will be our alternative race day for clashes with Berwick , Worky and Rye House
  12. I'm not , the Speedway Star's priorities are the EL and GP's and the weekend's crowning of Greg Hancock I assume takes up the front cover as I haven't bought it yet
  13. That's normal at the end of a season , riders just say what people want to hear and everybody's happy . Most people just take those kind of interviews with a pinch of salt
  14. A wonderful evening to cap a wonderful season for us . Huge crowd , brilliant track , entertaining racing , what more could a speedway fan want ? Glasgow looked a team possessed , determined to banish the disappointment of last week and our top 4 were immense . Newcastle had the exciting Lambert and to a lesser extent , Steve Worrall , but that was it . When they really needed a performance from Lindgren and Palovaara , they never delivered . Saturday night's dinner dance will be a much happier occasion now . Moment of the night was Danny Ayres bursting into tears when he arrived back from hospital and the whole bar chanted his name . Would have brought a tear to a glass eye that .
  15. Number 75 and get off at the Gala bingo . I'm doing what MD says and getting the train from Queen Street to Ashfield
  16. At least he's not guesting for a three pointer Naturally I hope you're wrong . We need Aaron in the same kind of Brough form that he showed during the league meeting in May . The reserves worry me though , I don't see Newcastle being a Danny Ayres type track , hopefully he can at least beat Phillips . We need to keep it really close though , as Thursday proved , we historically are not good at pulling back first leg deficits too successfully .
  17. Thankfully this attitude is more forthcoming than the opposite one .
  18. That's just petty jealousy , I just let that wash right over me . We are now fortunate to follow a professionally run club in a nice modern stadium , I for one am thankful for that .
  19. Yes you have had some frustrating near misses too in recent years , but always come back with a competitive side and are challenging once again the following year . That's the way I want Glasgow to be . We've had a great season , and we might yet still end it with silverware , people are too quick to forget the awful years when we hovered down or around the bottom of the table , blimey was either 2012 0r 13 we went from May till September without winning at home . I've had an enjoyable season regardless , and Glasgow's future is secure which is always the main thing .
  20. Speedway rider misses a meeting to go out on the piss quality
  21. It works well in ice hockey , with the league winner being crowned champions and the play off weekend at Nottingham ice rink is always a sell out
  22. I like the play offs , but maybe it's time for a rethink . Despite Pearson's assertions that the PL never lets SKY down , they have no interest in covering our play offs , which is sad . So maybe it's time to go down the ice hockey route and make the play offs and end of season cup competition . The League winners are the Champions and the top 8 play off home and away in the play offs , first against eighth , second against seventh etc . Then the four winners have a two day big meeting at say the new National stadium with the semi finals on a Saturday and the final on the Sunday afternoon . Just a thought
  23. Gutted I couldn't make the restaging because of work , and gutted about the outcome . I worry we're becoming the nearly men of speedway , That's two League Cup finals , a play off final , play off semi final , Pairs semi final and we blew fours qualification on the very last heat when the group was at our mercy . Still i'd rather be in the mix for silverware , than not . And there's still a KO Cup to race for . So well done and good luck to Sheffield , and to both teams in the play off final , I have good friends among the support of both camps . I hope it's a final fitting of the occasion .
