  1. Buster Chapman more or less said that when he became El Presidente , but there are still parts that are as clear as mud
  2. Suppose you have to try and emulate your peers where you can
  3. Thought your lot didn't do stuff like that
  4. Doesn't seem fair though . Riders who haven't proved good enough to attain a three point average become more attractive than a rider who averaged just above three ( who will probably not figure in the majority of promoter's plans ) or a young budding hopeful hoping for their first crack at the second tier . They are the ones who should be given the two point averages , just like Jason Crump all those years ago
  5. I was only going by the averages someone had posted on another thread . Pumping the Monarchs last month could turn out to be a bit of a pain in the ass for our team building plans
  6. Don't think any of them are unpopular And if Andy Smith's son comes in on a 2 , then him Bewley and Lunna would be less than 11 , giving us room for Garcia maybe
  7. At our dinner/dance last week , when Rene Bach was interviewed and asked about his plans for 2017 he said " if he did start the season in Britain his choice of club would be either Glasgow or Newcastle ". Having , what appears to be , made his goodbye to Glasgow statement on Faceache this afternoon , it would appear he must be strongly in the running to return to Tyneside next season .
  8. Yes I remember putting a number 8 out against a t/r in a meeting against us
  9. Passion , the ability to gee riders up who are having an off night , the tactical awareness to maximise the use of gate positions , t/r's etc .
  10. I would think so . Aaron , Richie , Son of God , Nike , Jack Smith , hopefully Bewley and whoever else fits
  11. A rapidly improving reserve plays a big part in any league winning side
  12. That we don't know , but young bones heal quicker . With the points limit down to 40 , young Bewley's low average will be even more sought after
  13. Where as Bewley looks very tempting on his low average , most of the other 2016 three pointers wont . Cant see Glasgow going with a three pointer and Danny Ayres at reserve , a three pointer and Bewley is a different proposition altogether .
  14. I sympathise with your situation Tyretrax , knowing where it is you work and it would be impossible to get a Saturday night off , it's a shame someone like yourself , who has been part of the furniture for decades has to miss watching the Tigers . But we were always going to try and get away from the Sunday afternoon raceday , it will be interesting to see how it goes . It's one thing getting big crowds for evening cup finals , we'll see how it goes in the regular part of the season . While much has been made of switching to Saturday nights , nothing has been said about the other announcement at the dance - I refer to the giant screen to be placed on bend 2 . That will add something to the evening's entertainment .
  15. Seriously Blobby !!!!!!! surely you don't pay any attention to what gets posted on Arsebook . That's even more mental than it gets on here . Why , we even had your sponsor making a fool of himself on there during the KO Cup final on Monday night .
  16. Given the rapid progress he was starting to make , before he got injured , during the second half of the season . Whoever signs Dan Bewley on his low average and starts him at reserve , will be favourites for the PL title . Will also be interesting to see if Belle Vue use him as a fast track reserve , assuming this practice is still in place next season
  17. Anyway onto team building . We'll know during the week which set of rules , daft or otherwise , we'll be working with next season . If we stick with the three pointers at number 7 , I noticed Andy Smith and his son , Jack , in the bar after the Cup final last Monday - I wonder
  18. I loved my trips to Newport , especially the Newport v Glasgow clashes the night before Cardiff . They never disappointed
  19. Was at a Welsh Open at Newport one year , might have been the one the day after Harris won at Cardiff , and the Polish lad Marius Mroz ( think that was his first name ) went spectacularly into the fence , at the pits gate , face first . Hit it with an almighty clatter , but within a few minutes he was up waving to the crowd , thought he was a goner that day
  20. It's an interesting one , Saturday night is really breaking new ground for us , Saturday night in Possilpark lol , really interesting haha I assume a Sunday afternoon will be our alternative race day for clashes with Berwick , Worky and Rye House
  21. I'm not , the Speedway Star's priorities are the EL and GP's and the weekend's crowning of Greg Hancock I assume takes up the front cover as I haven't bought it yet
  22. That's normal at the end of a season , riders just say what people want to hear and everybody's happy . Most people just take those kind of interviews with a pinch of salt
  23. A wonderful evening to cap a wonderful season for us . Huge crowd , brilliant track , entertaining racing , what more could a speedway fan want ? Glasgow looked a team possessed , determined to banish the disappointment of last week and our top 4 were immense . Newcastle had the exciting Lambert and to a lesser extent , Steve Worrall , but that was it . When they really needed a performance from Lindgren and Palovaara , they never delivered . Saturday night's dinner dance will be a much happier occasion now . Moment of the night was Danny Ayres bursting into tears when he arrived back from hospital and the whole bar chanted his name . Would have brought a tear to a glass eye that .
