Glasgow v Poole. BSN Series Final 1st Leg 30/6/23
Paulco replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I'd rather have the first leg anyway . I would prefer us trying to defend a lead as opposed to try to claw back any deficit -

The two league matches are in July . Make them the BSF Cup final and we'll go to Poole on Wednesday in the league . Cause I dont see tomorrow happening -

Not exactly having sleepless nights about him scoring a maximum against a KL side that would struggle to beat most championship sides and on a trick track -

Lot of negative paranoia emanating from Dorset . Cant imagine why , you lost at an inform Oxford , big deal . You drew at Redcar , who beat us home and away in the KO Cup , though we were without Basso in the home leg . This has all the makings of a classic as long as the weather doesn't spoil it . I think we will win on Friday , but by enough ? Who knows -
Glasgow v Edinburgh CL 16/9/23 @19-30

Survived the monsoon weather and was surprised how well the track stood up to the rain . Thinking this was going to be a one sided encounter , credit to the Monarchs in proving me wrong . Ultimately it was the brilliance of Basso and Harris that proved desisive , heat 13 in particular was incredible . Pride restored in the Monarchs camp after last Friday , the new Dane seemed to like the Ashfield circuit better than his own . -

And all joking aside , that is the sad part . Craig was a terrific rider to watch round Ashfield , wonderfully entertaining . And a constant thorn in our side during his first stint in the blue and gold . No reason he can't be that rider again if he can put what the trouble is behind him -

Aye seems Rory has caught the sore back virus -
After opening our home league campaign with a comfortable win over the hapless Brummies , its the turn of the other diddy team to get battered this week . After pumping them in their own midden last week , its important we show them no mercy at the cauldron of speed tomorrow night and build up the points difference . We should be as we were last Friday , but who knows who will turn out for them . Will Pickering be fit ? Will Cook get permission from Nurse Ratchet to ride ? Or will it be two guests again ? With only Birmingham , Oxford and Berwick not in action choices are limited . If it is two guests my guess would be Schlein and Kerr , but who knows . With another scorchio week up here in Hotland, the track staff will have their work cut out to live up to.their impeccable standards.

09/06/23 Edinburgh v Glasgow (CH)
Paulco replied to Endeavour's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
C'mon Blobby , we're interested . The porn star had a typical porn star performance, couple of duff rides , a win then tangling with a Dane on the 4th bend . We're seen all that before . The new Dane will take time to get used to the track , but didn't really look anything special . Lasse likes to take a dive and the other reserve was predictably out of his depth . But what was Thomson's problem ? He was dreadful -
Why ? Edinburgh are mince

Cracking meeting and a superb performance from our boys . Cant remember seeing a better meeting at Armadale . Harris , Brennan , Vissing were outstanding while Basso and Nowak were solid , Complin showed how much riding for Glasgow means to him and young Ace was so unlucky , leading heat 2 then picking up grip and coming off and that seem to affect the rest of his meeting . For Edinburgh , the guests did their job . Worrall looked very fast and Kerr tried hard for his points . Castagna had his one good race , Thomson was rubbish and Lasse whatshisface had a up and down meeting , laterly mostly down . Woods was out his depth . Biggest shock of the night , a fiver for a pint in the bar -

Despite their recent home struggles , and having a patched septet tonight , you just know the Monarchs are going to be up for this tonight more than any other league match . So we'll have to get the best out of our 7 , no silly exclusions , if we are to prevail . We should have an excellent chance of winning, but I've been to Armadale too many times thinking that , only to be disappointed . Should be a cracker though -
Poole Vs Plymouth 7th June league
Paulco replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Think that had more to do with the division 2 sides being shafted , with the promised spreading of the top riders throughout the league failing to materialise . And Glasgow having to start the season with r/r for a non existent number 1 . And the less said about 96 the better . I got bored supporting the away team every week -

While that might be true , watch the next two Fridays . We will have a couple of hundred on the 3rd and 4th bend on Friday night , the following Friday there might be 50 or so Monarchs fans at our place , depending on Friday's result . Days of fans travelling any distance for an away meeting are just about priced out of the equation . If we have any ambition to go with the money spent , its time we were riding against the likes of Belle Vue , Ipswich ,Kings Lynn etc -

Big night ahead for us as we attempt to restore our dignity after living with the humiliation as the only visiting Championship side to lose at Armadale this season . That blight on our reputation has to be eradicated if our title ambitions are to be taken seriously . Hopefully we can put the new look Monarchs to the sword . I see they have moved the Italian porn star's race from heat 14 to heat 8 , that should ease the impact if its a close meeting . Hopefully the new Dane is of the Peter Juul variety and having a collie dog and a 57 year old Aussie prospect at reserve has a negligible effect . So we go along the M8 with hope on Friday evening of maintaining our 100% start to the league campaign -
That was an easy meeting to get over Tuesday's disappointment , but you have to fear for Birmingham

Sometimes you just have to accept you were beat by a better team on the night . Redcar were excellent and thoroughly deserved the win . Good luck in the rest of the competition -

That competition you are bumping your gums about , can even remember who won it , was supposed to finish with a three team tournament at Sheffield. So when that got changed the three teams had more important matters to settle at the end of the season . Anyway back to last night , that was a terrific meeting and maybe we did go over the top celebrating at the end , but winning away from home is always brilliant
