  1. He looked quick enough last night , and the effort was there , but as someone previously said , you cant give the likes of Richie Worrall , Lawson or Summers a start . But it wasn't just Bridger , Vissing started off like a train before fizzling out when it got to the tickly part of the meeting .
  2. I must admit , Dick Barrie's comments in the programme did surprise me . They were pretty patronising and it's not as if he doesn't venture on to social media sites in his various disguises himself. Like it or not , fans are entitled to air their opinion . It used to be in the bar after a meeting , now we have the internet . And that gives both sides of the argument , even if some views can get a bit outlandish . I can sympathise with the Berwick fans , there was a recent season we went 4 months without any kind of win . Bottom line is you have a number 1 showing plenty of effort , but not turning that effort into the points a number 1 should be scoring . And pulling wheelies after finishing last in a crucial deciding heat isn't going to ease the disappointment the fans must have been feeling . I don't think Berwick are too far away , certainly they've got a handy reserve in Gappmaier . And they've had a tough run of fixtures . but it's going to be a tough league this season and I think they have one or two tough decisions to make .
  3. After tonight's astonishing comeback at Berwick , can we secure a 6 point weekend against the Bandits ?
  4. Just home , still buzzing . What an atmosphere on the back straight tonight . Don't know what Stewart said to the lads during the interval , but it worked . Aaron was immense in heat 11 and him and Richie swung the meeting in our favour in a brilliant heat 13 . Heat 14 was a brilliant race , was really impressed with Gappmaier tonight . And our main man completed the comeback by winning heat 15 and the captain securing the vital third place . After heat 10 I couldn't see us getting a point nevermind winning , but the comeback was astonishing .
  5. Well if Havelock wanted an early decision on their availability , and we're now into the afternoon , it's safe to assume both will be riding tonight .
  6. Wrong week eh Sue , last Sunday at Scunny you had myself , Halifaxtiger and Squall all stood together
  7. Suppose every track has it's own rules regarding this sort of thing . I know Edinburgh lets the carer in , alongside the disabled person , for free , but Glasgow doesn't . Likewise in other sports , Ayr horse racing track lets the carer in for free , while Exeter doesn't even have a reduced rate for the disabled person . So there's no hard and fast rule for any sport .
  8. You can get a beer on the back straight now , saves all that walking round to the back of the stand
  9. Back to Sundays this weekend as we welcome the Bandits . Obviously this work of literary genius is written before Berwick endure their traditional pumping at the Dump and both these sides have clashed in the Borders on Saturday night . We need to get over losing at Scunthorpe last weekend , while Berwick couldnae beat Casey's drum at the moment . Crazy Claus and Kevin Doolan have both had plenty good Ashfield outings in the past and Lewis Bridger got a nose bleed coming this far north this time for the Benfund meeting . Despite having the surname " Carr " , young Liam isn't very obnoxious , but is struggling in the number 2 racebib , while the little Frenchman can collect any of his belongings he hasn't already picked up . The reserves is an unknown , Dany Whathisface could be anything , and I've no idea who replaces Ryan Blacklock . All known logic points to a home win , but we shall see .
  10. There is no such thing as an easy away win . Berwick will be fired up after losing at home last weekend
  11. It's a forum of opinions , none of us are going to agree about everything . Some on here actually think Armadale is a good racetrack , so you get varied and outlandish differences . You have your opinion about the Eddie Wright raceway , I disagree with you , but I respect your right to say it as you see it .
  12. I was stood with him at the time ( we were on the back straight in line with the starting gate ) and definitely heat 1 there was a fair bit of movement and Carl Wilkinson definitely got away with one . Heat 2 less obvious , was more our poor gating in the rerun .
  13. Joe Screen and James Grieves seemed to get pretty pally when both were Glasgow Tigers
  14. He's certainly worth the admission money round the Eddie Wright raceway , it must be almost an anti-climax when he makes a good gate . Was painful watching him pass my team's riders yesterday , but as a speedway fan you have to admire that kind of rider .
  15. Cracking meeting yesterday , though it was one that got away from us . We made a poor start to the meeting , but got back into it and looked like we were taking charge . But the 5-1 Scunny somehow got in heat 13 proved decisive . Wee Dan deserved to be in heat 15 , I was more wondering why Palm Toft wasn't in it . Anyway it was very entertaining meeting with some cracking racing , though the temperature seemed to drop about 20 degrees half way through the meeting . New clubhouse very impressive .
  16. Is young Jack fit enough to race today , or are we using a NL guest ? Correct about Douglas , the 7 day rule should apply , but anything goes in speedway . Hopefully we see a cracking match today with an away win to have us smiling on the long haul home .
  17. I enjoyed last night , some cracking races with the Newcastle top two . Our young second strings came up trumps with the match winning contributions , their progress this season is going to be a joy to watch . Newcastle's top two is probably the best spearhead in the league , but if they are going to challenge for honours they need better than this from Lindgren , who was dreadful last night .
  18. Beautiful Spring day , no weather concerns whatsoever , looking forward to what is an intriguing early season clash .
  19. Just read the speedway updates and Jack Smith brings the house down at Belle Vue by beating Hans Andersen . Will do his confidence the world of good . Young Dan has 5 points after two rides too
  20. How predictable , is Ryan Douglas a known Armadale hater ? I think not . Sometimes these things are genuine
