  1. I was stood with him at the time ( we were on the back straight in line with the starting gate ) and definitely heat 1 there was a fair bit of movement and Carl Wilkinson definitely got away with one . Heat 2 less obvious , was more our poor gating in the rerun .
  2. Joe Screen and James Grieves seemed to get pretty pally when both were Glasgow Tigers
  3. He's certainly worth the admission money round the Eddie Wright raceway , it must be almost an anti-climax when he makes a good gate . Was painful watching him pass my team's riders yesterday , but as a speedway fan you have to admire that kind of rider .
  4. Cracking meeting yesterday , though it was one that got away from us . We made a poor start to the meeting , but got back into it and looked like we were taking charge . But the 5-1 Scunny somehow got in heat 13 proved decisive . Wee Dan deserved to be in heat 15 , I was more wondering why Palm Toft wasn't in it . Anyway it was very entertaining meeting with some cracking racing , though the temperature seemed to drop about 20 degrees half way through the meeting . New clubhouse very impressive .
  5. Is young Jack fit enough to race today , or are we using a NL guest ? Correct about Douglas , the 7 day rule should apply , but anything goes in speedway . Hopefully we see a cracking match today with an away win to have us smiling on the long haul home .
  6. I enjoyed last night , some cracking races with the Newcastle top two . Our young second strings came up trumps with the match winning contributions , their progress this season is going to be a joy to watch . Newcastle's top two is probably the best spearhead in the league , but if they are going to challenge for honours they need better than this from Lindgren , who was dreadful last night .
  7. Beautiful Spring day , no weather concerns whatsoever , looking forward to what is an intriguing early season clash .
  8. Just read the speedway updates and Jack Smith brings the house down at Belle Vue by beating Hans Andersen . Will do his confidence the world of good . Young Dan has 5 points after two rides too
  9. How predictable , is Ryan Douglas a known Armadale hater ? I think not . Sometimes these things are genuine
  10. They wont be the last to get pumped at Owlerton this season , so Bandit's fans shouldn't panic just yet
  11. Scunthorpe will have their fixtures done by the end of May at this rate . Canny see anything other than a comfortable home win here .
  12. It is , we took our time disposing of Scunthorpe last week , top three done their bit , our middle order will need to give us a wee bit more . Has all the makings of an entertaining clash though .
  13. There's always much wrong with the preview edition
  14. Another league we're at the top off . Plus our programme is £3 , not £2.50
  15. My good friend is correct Whippy . I sorry you didn't enjoy your visit , I agree it was pretty mundane stuff on Saturday , but that wasn't a typical meeting we've been used to . It's usually much better that what you saw against Scunthorpe . Unfortunately you get good and bad meetings on all tracks , i'm afraid you were just unlucky .
  16. Don't think anybody is putting the boot it , they were just commenting on what they saw . Just like in any team sport you get very entertaining matches and you get some mediocre matches , unfortunately for any neutral visiting Glasgow for the first time , Saturday's meeting was the latter . That's not anyone putting the boot in , just a statement of fact .
  17. While it was nice to get the first win on the board , the entertainment value on a chilly evening was virtually nil . The experts have enlightened us to the fact that if there's a danger of rain , the track has to be as slick as that . I know nothing about track prep so I have to take that at face value , but I don't see any newcomers rushing back after watching 15 heats of follow the leader . In saying that , i'm very satisfied at the form of our big three and i'm sure the other lads , in particularly Lunna , will fare better once they get a racers track to show their worth . Better viewing in the Charlie Monk stand now they've added a tier and a nice new snack bar as well , new floodlights are cracking too . Has the plan for the big screen been shelved for now ? Or has that still to come ?
  18. Bit follow the leaderish though , very slick track with gating at a premium . Need to up our game a bit in the earlier heats for next week .
