Berwick V Scunthorpe Championship 22/4/17@7-00pm
Paulco replied to Normski's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Berwick are better than their results suggest . If they can get Bridger riding like a number 1 , then they'll be too strong for Scunthorpe . -
First clash comes on June 16th when Edinburgh are at home to Ipswich and Rye are at Belle Vue . I'm sure Edinburgh will be upset if the terms in which they've signed a rider changes .
-
You get fed up with this Brit stuff . Must a club have to make do with an under performing rider just because he's British ?
-
Think the way it works - when a rider is an asset of neither club , the one who had signed the rider first gets priority , in this case - Edinburgh .
-
If you're not doing it there's every chance you'll be replaced , nationality doesn't come into it . If Clegg doesn't give himself a shake , he might not be at Edinburgh much longer either .

After last week's big April shower that was a Berwick fan , the hope is we've ordered some sunshine for this weekend . 5 o clock start though because of some tribal gathering somewhere else in our great city gives us more time in the pub . We'll be along the usual lines , best heat leader trio in the league , plus the most exciting young talent backing them up will entertain us royally once again . And they'll have to as Workington have a fair bit of talent in their side too . They are led by the stand out rider in the league , ex Monarch bogeyman Craig Cook ( funny how they don't seem quite as obnoxious once they leave Armadale ) and he's backed up by Ty Proctor and Tommy the tape toucher . Add to that they have the best 10k Glasgow ever made ( Mason Campton ) , and another ex-Tiger , Adam Roynon , in their ranks , it should be an interesting early evening , though I think we'll win this by round about 12 or 14 points .

That was a brilliant race , as was Gappmaier versus Lunna in heat 14
-
Richie Worrall has started the season very well and looks set fair to be Glasgow's number 1 for the rest of the season . In fact both Worrall twins have started the season impressively .
-
We were just lulling you into a false sense of security anyway , blame Kenny Tait , he came down to gloat , then it all went pear shaped
-
Summers certainly had the bit between his teeth last night , his ride in heat 11 was probably the turning point of the meeting . And his animated after race celebrations got the large travelling support on the back straight fired up .
-
He looked quick enough last night , and the effort was there , but as someone previously said , you cant give the likes of Richie Worrall , Lawson or Summers a start . But it wasn't just Bridger , Vissing started off like a train before fizzling out when it got to the tickly part of the meeting .

I must admit , Dick Barrie's comments in the programme did surprise me . They were pretty patronising and it's not as if he doesn't venture on to social media sites in his various disguises himself. Like it or not , fans are entitled to air their opinion . It used to be in the bar after a meeting , now we have the internet . And that gives both sides of the argument , even if some views can get a bit outlandish . I can sympathise with the Berwick fans , there was a recent season we went 4 months without any kind of win . Bottom line is you have a number 1 showing plenty of effort , but not turning that effort into the points a number 1 should be scoring . And pulling wheelies after finishing last in a crucial deciding heat isn't going to ease the disappointment the fans must have been feeling . I don't think Berwick are too far away , certainly they've got a handy reserve in Gappmaier . And they've had a tough run of fixtures . but it's going to be a tough league this season and I think they have one or two tough decisions to make .
-
Just home , still buzzing . What an atmosphere on the back straight tonight . Don't know what Stewart said to the lads during the interval , but it worked . Aaron was immense in heat 11 and him and Richie swung the meeting in our favour in a brilliant heat 13 . Heat 14 was a brilliant race , was really impressed with Gappmaier tonight . And our main man completed the comeback by winning heat 15 and the captain securing the vital third place . After heat 10 I couldn't see us getting a point nevermind winning , but the comeback was astonishing .

Well if Havelock wanted an early decision on their availability , and we're now into the afternoon , it's safe to assume both will be riding tonight .

Speedway And Disabled Admission.
Paulco replied to a4poster's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Suppose every track has it's own rules regarding this sort of thing . I know Edinburgh lets the carer in , alongside the disabled person , for free , but Glasgow doesn't . Likewise in other sports , Ayr horse racing track lets the carer in for free , while Exeter doesn't even have a reduced rate for the disabled person . So there's no hard and fast rule for any sport . -
You can get a beer on the back straight now , saves all that walking round to the back of the stand

Back to Sundays this weekend as we welcome the Bandits . Obviously this work of literary genius is written before Berwick endure their traditional pumping at the Dump and both these sides have clashed in the Borders on Saturday night . We need to get over losing at Scunthorpe last weekend , while Berwick couldnae beat Casey's drum at the moment . Crazy Claus and Kevin Doolan have both had plenty good Ashfield outings in the past and Lewis Bridger got a nose bleed coming this far north this time for the Benfund meeting . Despite having the surname " Carr " , young Liam isn't very obnoxious , but is struggling in the number 2 racebib , while the little Frenchman can collect any of his belongings he hasn't already picked up . The reserves is an unknown , Dany Whathisface could be anything , and I've no idea who replaces Ryan Blacklock . All known logic points to a home win , but we shall see .
-
There is no such thing as an easy away win . Berwick will be fired up after losing at home last weekend

It's a forum of opinions , none of us are going to agree about everything . Some on here actually think Armadale is a good racetrack , so you get varied and outlandish differences . You have your opinion about the Eddie Wright raceway , I disagree with you , but I respect your right to say it as you see it .
