  1. Thanks to everyone who made it an enjoyable evening at Foxhall . Okay the meeting was a bit gate and go , but it was always relatively close and that kept it interesting . I'd have taken a point before the meeting , but I thought the chances of that had gone after heat 13 , but heat 15 was the best race of the evening and silenced the massif round about me . And Mr Long , surely my accent isn't too difficult to understand Very big thanks to Super Blue for the lift back to the B and B , and to all the lads ( and lassie ) who came in the bar for a drink after the meeting . Another cracking visit to Ipswich done and dusted .
  2. Aye shame it's a severely depleted Wolves , that's doubling up and riding in multi leagues for you .
  3. I will , sorry you wont be there petal Always that wee twinge of sadness when I go to Ipswich , Badge
  4. I'll see what I can do All go tomorrow and the next couple of days . Working till 6 tomorrow then meeting Willie in the Horseshoe Bar in Glasgow at 8 . Few bevvys there , then the sleeper bus down to London . Thurs - 10 o clock train from Liverpool Street to Ipswich . Taxi from station to Abbey Guest house , throw bags in and taxi to Golf Inn . Few refreshments before walking down to track . Friday - 9 o clock train to Liverpool Street , underground to Paddington , train to Highbridge for Somerset v Wolves . Saturday - 16-15 flight from Bristol back to Glasgow and taxi back to the Horseshoe .
  5. Me and Willie take it easy on the beer while cheering on the Tigers ......................................well I do lol
  6. Yes of course , but we had a good laugh in the bar after the meeting , hoping for another good natured session
  7. Taking this in on my wee mini tour , will miss my visit to Somerset with Glasgow this year , so this is an opportunity for my Oak Tree Arena fix .
  8. Hope not , I've yet to see us lose at Foxhall . We need Richie to come up with the type of performance he did last year , and Richard and Aaron to back him up . Dan to carry on where he left off on Saturday and Tom and Jack to get amongst their reserves . Easy to say haha . Anyway looking forward to the after meeting drinks with the Massif , win , lose or draw . Hope we get a cracker of a meeting .
  9. Don't think there's ever been a Monarchs away defeat in the last 10 years where the track wasn't to blame , so I wouldn't pay to much attention to any of that . Track was perfect last night .
  10. Don't know about a wake up call , but the prospect of Davey and Clegg at reserve shortly must be of some concern . Had you not had a reserve scoring 14 last night , you'd be looking at a record defeat .
  11. KO Cup matches never have in recent seasons . Not even official matches according to the BSPA and Berwick 5 years ago .
  12. Nah she's too busy trying to get an independence referendum again
  13. Aye ok there's always an exception to the rule And the way things are at Ibrox , i'd happily take the not so slim Jim that came back from Sunderland and Nottingham Forest
  14. Anyone who's visited Kirkcaldy ice rink for an ice hockey match will struggle to have a soft spot for anything that comes out of that particular town .
  15. Not what Berwick need at all . Shame the track seems to have been bad last night , only a couple of weeks ago it produced a great meeting against Glasgow . Hard to see where Berwick go from here , obviously riders attitudes instigated the necessary changes , but the balance of the side looks all wrong . When you have a tail as long as that you really need your three top men scoring close to 40 points , no easy task . I hope things work out for them , last thing the sport needs is to lose another track , but home defeat after home defeat brings it's own dangers financially , hope they can turn things around soon .
  16. Have to commend Elliot the updater , noticed when I got home he was actually doing about 4 meetings at the one time , that's amazing and must have been manic .
  17. That's the one thing Armadale has better than Glasgow , a proper bar where supporters can enjoy a drink and chat with the opposition fans about speedway . That Tigers den thing is a café with folk coming and going and you cant get comfortable there . The memorabilia in the Armadale bar is impressive , apart from one certain item haha
  18. The injury rider replacement rule is one of the more sensible rules introduced . Takes a bit of pressure off the reserves . Felt for young Jack tonight , he looked so down sitting on the back of the victory truck . It's a tough learning curve for him , hopefully he doesn't put too much pressure on himself .
  19. It was a wow sort of performance by young Dan . Hopefully he can push on from this now Nice to meet Mr Speedball tonight , hope you enjoyed your visit and safe journey home . Good luck to Kings Lynn for the rest of the season
  20. That was sweet . That was as dominant a performance in the derby as I can remember . We were well up for it , and they hadn't an answer . Had it not been for the hard working Mark Riss it would have been really embarrassing . By all accounts Edinburgh's gating at home last night was awful , tonight it wasn't even that good as we were bike lengths clear in many of the races . Worrall , Lawson , Summers and particularly Bewley were immense , we could even lose the luckless Lunna early on and still canter to victory . Only M Riss and Wells offered any resistance , the rest were dreadful . I've been guilty of criticising the track so far this season as it has been a one line track , tonight it was much better .
