  1. No doubt there will be the (ahem , cough ) unbiased version of events on the Monarchs Chatzone
  2. Sad , but life goes on , he surely cant use that as an excuse
  3. Andersen is a typical Dane , they all learned from Nicki i think . Andersen also has history in that department , saw him and Baby Bjerre flicking the back wheel at each other at Peterborough last season , that resulted in a square go that day . He often flatters to deceive , first couple of times i seen him ride i thought he would turn out to be quite useful , but he seems to have plateaued as a six and a half point rider , certainly he showed not a lot last night till his final ride .
  4. Poor Graversen . I was at Somerset a couple of years ago when Leigh Lanham collected the rider of the night award in the bar after a paid max against Glasgow - sacked a couple of weeks later . Guess who won it when I was at Somerset last Friday ?
  5. Yep that's two meetings that his contribution has won now. Ok I know both replaced riders are injured , but it's only a matter of time before 2 pointers get pulled out of meetings for dandruff , or a broken flask and get replaced by Shanes . Riding in the top league , will his average improve any ?
  6. Keeps the pot boiling , canny beat a bit of healthy needle especially with our two clubs up near the top .
  7. The meeting was saved as a spectacle by that bit of needle as it was a pretty humdrum affair up to then . Our heat leaders were their usual reliable self , and Tom rode well and Dan was a bit unluckly mechanically . Jack continues to struggle , but he's work in progress so there's no issue there . Redcar really only had Barker and Garrity until Andersen upset Richard and they swopped recipes on the back straight . Heat 15 was the best race of the night by far
  8. Oh well , is it or isn't it ? Still a bit on the wet side in Paisley , but as there's nothing definitive coming from the track , suppose I better just trust it's on .
  9. Shane Parker was a wonderful ambassador for Glasgow speedway on and off the track . Took his bike into various schools , spoke to the kids , gave away tickets etc . Always approachable at the track , the ultimate professional
  10. Yes it's infuriating when that happens against you , but you cant award a race after two bends . Ricky becoming acquainted with the dark arts since moving from Worky to the forces of darkness . A word for young Jack Smith , he's struggled to find his feet at Championship level , but his third place when beating Pickering turned out to be crucial . I have learned many moons ago not to be optimistic when following my team to Armadale , so any result there is welcomed with open arms . How do you address it ? Only the rider himself knows if he's at it , he can easily claim he couldn't move the bike or his foot was stuck etc
  11. You forgot to mention Wells staying down to get the race stopped in heat 13 when we gated on a 5-1 , and as usual when these things happen , it becomes a 3-3 in the rerun , so that negates some of the points Edinburgh lost . But it was an enthralling encounter , with great performances on both sides . Big crowd on a chilly night , but both sets of fans seemed relatively happy in the bar afterwards . A pleasant beer was enjoyed in the company of Davy H and Alan from the Emmerdales . A better result for us rather than them , but I can't see either of our two clubs not being involved in the end of season play offs
  12. So after a week's absence from Ashfield , we're back against the Bears . We're still without Nike and Redcar might have one or two injury worries of their own . Ellis Perks took a knock at Poole's bumpy track the other night , and at Somerset last Friday I saw Charles Wright taking a nasty looking tumble which caused him to miss the return fixture at Wolves on Monday . Will still be tricky though , Redcar are no longer the whipping boys and have the colourful pair of Garrity and Barker leading their attack . And it's a welcome return for Coty Garcia too . So let the rain stay away , let the track offer spectacular racing , let the temperature be warm and let the beer be cold . An entertaining home win as well please .
  13. Anyway , who's joining me on the 3rd bend tomorrow night ? Yes Armadale's track isn't my cup of tea , but it's still speedway and my team is there . Weatherwoman said there was to be a change to the recent good spell of weather , so hope any rain stays well away from the 'dale tomorrow . And I see it's Speedway Star's match of the week , maybe because they don't seem to do much racing in the top flight . Teams having 3 and 4 weeks between home meetings .
  14. Wasn't too many seasons ago that Steve Worrall left Newcastle and dropped into the 3rd tier with Stoke ( I think ) to regain his confidence . Didn't do Steve any harm , hopefully Liam benefits the same way .
  15. It's a shame though , during Workington's recent visit to Glasgow he looked much better than he had on any occasion i'd saw him ride in the last couple of years .
  16. No it just disguises things a wee bit at this stage
  17. I'm sure they are , the Chuckle brothers are well versed in such matters
  18. Yes , you'll need to wangle that one as long as humanly possible
