  1. Just as well then your nearest and dearest relieved you of any latter stage KO Cup commitments
  2. Yes plus David Nagel And swap Sean Courtney for Shane Bowes and Stewart MacDonald for Nagel and you have a pretty good 1994 side too
  3. Glasgow's first ever league champions in 1993 . Robert Nagy Shane Bowes David Walsh Nigel Crabtree Mick Powell Jesper Olsen James Grieves Won the league in a canter and beat Jason Crump's Swindon in the KO Cup Final
  4. Maybe , but it would be a bit suss . A potential buyer would wonder where it came from
  5. No , only league matches . No two legged matches count , KO Cup or play offs
  6. Going back to my youth when Glasgow raced at Hampden Park . Glasgow had an evening newspaper then called the Evening Citizen , and on a Friday it was the Speedway special , with it almost completely dedicated to that week's home meeting . Now we're lucky to get a couple of lines in a newspaper .
  7. Ok i'll rephrase , another weekend without a home fixture and no revenue a home fixture brings Sorry I should have read the previous page to the end first lol
  8. Was that the same season you had Rickardsson " testing engines " or was that earlier ?
  9. I was there that night , Jason Lyons and Jesper were on an easy 5-1 and inexplicably rode into each other on the 3rd bend
  10. Rye House - the Rye pub , no where better on a Summer day to sit in a beer garden and have a meal before the speedway . Scunthorpe - the wind , why does it get so windy there ? Workington - marvelling at how our supporters coach driver manages to get the coach over that wee bridge to get into the car park . And sitting with the Mildenhall supporters in the stand , at the fours one year , and having the bar staff bring the beers up to us . Somerset - everything about the place , I just love the Oak Tree Arena Newcastle - bit lacking in atmosphere with supporters all just congregated in the one place . Kings Lynn - Watching in amazement as piles and piles of shale gets dumped on the starting gate just before the start . Ipswich - the home fans , great bunch of people . Berwick - how cold it can be , but the town itself is lovely Edinburgh - as i'm trying to be nice - it has a good bar . Newport - miss that place , made some great friends there Plymouth - cracking wee track Glasgow - of all our various homes - I miss Shawfield . Canterbury - got drunk in a pub called the Monument after watching us getting pumped Mildenhall - cracking wee place with a nice bar Redcar - great fans and I loved the 3rd and 4th bend banking Leicester - seeing our biggest ever away win there 62-28 in 2011 Coventry - the bridge over the pits Belle Vue - Kirky Lane - Thinking this was a plush place when I paid to get in - then I went outside . Sheffield - Love the New Barrack Tavern across the road on PLRC day Swindon - bit of a dump and the lavvys on the back straight . Nearly got left there as I spent too long in the bar after the meeting at the 2007 PLRC . Poole - dodgy track , but good big bar . Paisley - I could walk to there and back Peterborough - another of my favs - beer's a bit expensive though . Stoke - trip back in time , nice big bar , but the beer's not very good
  11. It's all opinions as you say . It's going to be a tough battle right to the wire for the play off places , if the rumours are to be believed about Peterborough putting together a galactico side , only really Scunthorpe and Berwick are out of the play off picture .
  12. Kenneth Hansen coming across as a very angry and bitter man in this morning's Scottish newspaper . It's reported he went on a social media rant attacking the Edinburgh track it wins awards too . He blasted " What a f.....g joke ! How can anyone prepare a track like that for speedway ? " " Smashed bike thanks to another rider with no control over his bike . And now sacked by pboro (sic) , could have saved me the journey to Edinburgh then " . He also blasted Ricky Wells who claimed " nothing wrong with the track " .
  13. You're ticking along very nicely under the radar , definite serious play off candidates .
  14. I agree , everything the Facenna's have done has improved the speedway experience in Glasgow immensely , why that hasn't included covers for the track is baffling . Berwick do things very well , we have been fortunate to be where we are , without the financial clout behind us it's doubtful we'd still be running . We don't want to develop a smugness associated with elsewhere , so we wont go down the road of claiming we're in front of anybody .
  15. If it wasn't bad enough suffering a rain off at Glasgow , I had to watch this bilge as well . What a crappy track to hold a GP on .
  16. Thought we might have survived the 5 o clock downpour , but as per usual the rain gods went " haha get it right up you speedway fans " and then it stopped soon as the meeting was called off . Dragging myself into Glasgow on a Saturday night is hard enough without the raingod taking the piss So it was back home to watch the GP on a dodgy track .
  17. Excellent , this could be a very entertaining meeting , another downpour before the start will have the track perfect .
  18. Been dry and warm all day so far , sky looks a bit threatening , but even if we did get a downpour there's enough heat in the air to dry the track out pretty quickly .
