  1. Any Bears fan want to make a few bob ? There's a horse called " The McGregornator " running in the 7-25 at Ayr tonight i kid you not
  2. Was an okayish meeting . Any of the races between Nick Morris and our three heat leaders was entertaining , but that was it really . Agreed that Etheridge looked much better than the rider that was so publically slated by his parent club's promotion last season . Another three points safely tucked away , bring on Worky next .
  3. One of the under 21 meetings on the continent I would imagine , didn't ride for Poole last night either .
  4. I hope so too , his average is false due to his mechanical issues earlier in the season . Hope he's not out of action for long
  5. Without being biased , Michael Max at Glasgow is as good as anybody currently doing a centre green . I like Roy Clarke ,who's took over from Dick Barrie at Berwick , he was very good at the PL 4's at Peterborough the last couple of years . And Kevin Long at Ipswich is very good too .
  6. That is the hope , although it is a long and full of patience process . We have Jack Smith at Glasgow , and while nobody is getting on at him and the promotion is full of support for him , I worry about him . He cuts a sad and forlorn figure at times , looking out from the pits during races and on the truck at the end , and you just have concerns that his confidence is being shattered . You mention Ellis Perks , and he has shown a lot of improvement this season , but he has been at it a lot longer than the likes of Smith and the other two pointers and you worry how many more will decide they've had enough before their potential has been fulfilled .
  7. yeah suppose not and Worky were near to hand last night .
  8. Sorry to hear about Lewis Bridger's crash last night , hope he's not too badly hurt , these guys really deserve every penny they earn , no other sport comes close to the risks these boys take . Anyway onto today , dry and cloudy at the moment , there are showers forecast , but hopefully they'll give us a miss and let us enjoy an evening at the track . Our campaign has been interrupted by postponements and we need to get three points today to keep in touch with Ipswich and Edinburgh . We wont take Berwick for granted though , any team can be a threat on any given day , hope it's an entertaining and crash free tussle .
  9. They do southern and northern tours , but in general that is the case
  10. Stuart Wilson is from Workington and has refereed Comets meetings , it happens in speedway
  11. With a heat leader trio of Morris , Bridger and Doolan in opposition , unlikely .
  12. No nobody is saying that The neutrals in attendance that have posted on here have stated that there was plenty of movement at the starts , especially Garrity . You're obviously a Bear's fan and are pointing the finger at the ref . Neutrals don't have their opinion blinded with natural bias towards any team , therefore a more balanced view is expressed . I'm not doubting you feel the ref had a nightmare , but when you take the Bears goggles off maybe he wasn't as bad as you think .
  13. Jim does attend functions at Glasgow , Edinburgh and Berwick . As i'm sure other referees do up and down the country . First and foremost they are speedway fans and unfortunately they are a dwindling bunch in number . Jim comes down hard on riders moving at the start , always has done . That can result in many reruns , but that's the way it is with Jim . But one thing he cant be accused of is bias towards Glasgow , we often feel quite the opposite .
  14. It's a much harder league than it's given credit for and most of the 2 pointers are struggling . Must be soul destroying for them at times . But he's young and has time on his side , hope this is just a minor setback and he comes back stronger
  15. Think the dust should have settled by now . I suppose a lot of things were said out of frustration and in the heat of the moment . Hope Coty is ok and a rider's well being should always be the only concern that matters . So both teams will just have to dust themselves down and do it all again , and when the restaging happens I hope there isn't any controversy and the best team on the night wins .
  16. While all that is true , you cant blame the ordinary fan , who doesn't know what goes on behind the scenes , being disappointed when an important rider in his or her team is missing from the only meeting they're interested in . We know it's where speedway is just now , but for the average fan who pays his money at the gate , it's disappointing .
